Great brewery in a surprising part of TX. Lots of selection and different beers for all taste buds. IPA, porter, stout, pale ale, etc. Bartender was friendly and knowledgable. We tasted everything and really enjoyed the Golden Strong and although it wasn’t my favorite the Pineneedle tea infused beer was unique.

Ok, not wonderful beer. The one pleasant surprise. food truck just outside the building offered delicious fare, and the staff was nice. But… It seemed there was something wrong with the website so I couldn’t check info there. I believe Unilocal showed the hours being 5 to 11 on Saturdays, so, we waited all day to get here when they«opened», but when we got here we found out they actually opened at 12. Would have been much better if we could have been here earlier in the day. They also didn’t answer the phone the 3 times I called at 1, 2 ish and 4ish so I could verify the times. Flights.. $ 12 for 4 — 2 oz samples, way to much when a pint of beer runs only $ 4 to $ 6. Overall.. Major disappointment since we drove 1 hour and 15 minutes each way to try them out.

Great beer, super sweet bartenders, will definitely be back. Favorites were the pale ale and Belgian triple.

Had the pleasure of sitting in on one of their«tasting» nights back in December and it was awesome! They had quite a variety of flavor options with their offerings growing every month now it seems. The service was fantastic, the location convenient and the atmosphere definitely put you in the right head space to sit a spell and taste some of the epic flavors they have to offer. Absolutely a shiny place I will visit again next time I’m in town! Highly recommend stopping by and checking them out!

The only show in town of its kind. That is to say, the only brewery in town. They have a nice selection of beers on tap, including an IPA that pulls through with a hop filter. Kinda cool, that. The thing to keep in mind is that Big Thicket is a brewery, not a brewpub. They don’t serve food(although there’s a food truck outside), and this is more a tasting room for a functional brewery. Regarding the beers, there’s a very unique one, that started out as a Belgian, got monkeyed with, ended up in bourbon barrels, and then had peppers added to it. It won’t be for everyone, but I have to applaud their willingness to experiment. I thought the porter was very good, and they even have root beer on tap for the kids. They’re only open three days a week at this point, but it’s nice to have a spot like this in downtown Lufkin.

Great spot in Lufkin! A little bit of a drive for us — only wish there were one of these in Beaumont! Loved the raspberry sour and the blueberry blonde.
