This place is a gem! I grew up in the eighties and this place took me back. The food is outstanding and they have creamy Italian with the wooden salad bowls! I got the perch and scallops with a couple of shrimp on the side. Everything was fesh and delish. The fried shrimp were extra good! The wait staff is very nice and the atmosphere is old and cozy. I will definitely be recomending this place to friends and family!

So, there seems to be an issue with the décor not being updated in 40 years. Yep its old. Old does not automatically translate to dirty. I think the owner does not care about décor, rather, all the owner cares about is making good food. Homemade hand prepared meals and desserts is what you get here. The food was very good, the drinks were reasonable. The mens bathroom was old but not nasty. Nobody can tell someone how to «feel» about the décor being old and dingy. It is what it is and I would like to see some updates too. But if the owner says NO, Im too busy making good food, well then ask yourself, is this something you can tolerate? Since I like the food, I will tolerate it. Ive never given 4 stars to a Dingy Restaurant before. Must be the… Food!

A charming authentic retro ambience, with fantastic home-made and fresh food in healthy portions, made to order! We had many of the fried seafoods from the menu… All delicious: perch, shrimp, scallop, oysters! The fried green peppers were also very good. All came with very personable service. A must go!

After reading some of these reviews, I felt obligated to write one because this place deserves a higher rating! Yes the décor is crazy outdated, but that’s part of the corky charm. The food is all hand made and tastes super fresh. I had the best fried chicken I have ever eaten in my life! Also, the perch sandwich is also great, you can add scallops to make it even better too! The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get! Every Friday and Saturday the place is packed because the food is so good. I took off a star because I was not crazy about the cheese cake. It was a little heavy for my taste, but also hand made. If you are thinking about eating here, give it a try and don’t let the strange décor scare you away. It is worth the trip!

I’m not a fan of this place. My husband likes the food, but I personally cannot stomach it. A bit pricey. Atmosphere is very outdated. A redeeming quality is that on a Friday night it’s the only bar in town if you need to take a walk & have a drink.

I am so torn about this place. It is a dumpy, dark, out dated crap hole, but the food was actually pretty good. The fried mushrooms seem to be hand battered and we’re good, and the perch even seemed fresh. Some of the items were far overpriced, but they served pretty good portions

Group of 6 last night for mom’s birthday. Some young kid points to a table and says we can sit there. Only two other tables, one large group and a table of two. One server busy with the large group the other one walking around, right past us several times. No offer to help, get our drinks ordered, etc. 22 minutes later, our group left due to no one even attempting to serve us. Very unfortunate

I had the chicken and it was very good. The waitress was pleasant and very efficient. The soup was the best! I would definitely go there again.

This place may not have been updated since the beginning of time, but there in is its charm. A gaggle of us headed there last night after a memorial. They were closing up the kitchen, but agreed to keep it open for our group. Is it fine cuisine? Prolly not, but they make a great fried perch sandwich and the fries are fantastic. Add to that a loud and homey feel and $ 5.00 Grey Goose martinis and well, I’m a smitten kitten. This place definitely serves its purpose and I hear the turtle soup is fantastic.

If there is any way to give a place –5 stars, I would for this place. Family of ours was raving about this place so we thought we would go. I am beginning to wonder about their taste. This place is such a dive I am surprised it is open and hasn’t been condemned.(As it should be). All I can think is someone must be sleeping with the health inspector. The food wasn’t even that good. And being served by a very overweight woman… have nothing against being overweight, but when your gut is showing and hanging below your shirt, kinda makes you not so hungry. Think I would have felt no so creeped out sitting on the sidewalk outside. You think I am exaggerating? Then check it out for yourself… dare ya.

Friends of ours have drug us there a few times. The place must have been built in the 50’s or older, and hasn’t been updated since. It has a homey feel to it, but the food is just not very good.
