We loved our upstairs suite. The whole house was charming and well-kempt, the view from the comfy rockers on the front porch(of town and the Shenandoah mountains) was super picturesque, breakfast was very tasty. But the best part was the owners — Bryce and Gregory. Down to earth, fun to talk with, totally committed to making the B&B an awesome getaway for their guests. These are new owners and the place has been recently renovated so don’t put too much stock in older reviews. Great job, guys!

Very warm inviting and friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the house is beautiful. We stayed in the Penn Dragon suite. The views from the room were very nice. The hot tub was amazing. The breakfast seemed perfectly portioned to fill us up as well. Bacon was excellent. We will definitely be coming back.

We spent an evening here. It’s a very nice B&B in an old house. The owners are wonderful and will do everything to make sure you are comfortable. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and had a private bathroom, sitting area, and a queen size bed. The house is very close to the Luray Caverns and downtown Luray. The house sits on a hill and there are really nice views of the mountain and the town. There’s an outdoor hot tub too! We will definitely stay at the Mayneview again.

We actually stayed at the additional property — the Greentree. We had to make arrangements to check-in(calling a manager and having him meet us at a precise time), which seemed odd, but perhaps that’s just the B&B way(or the off-season way). The place itself was nice. The room was just the right size and had a private bathroom. On the property was a hot tub, which was fabulous. Our only issue was how paper-thin the walls were. We could literally hear every word of the conversation our room neighbor’s were having. Kinda awkward. Each room had satellite TV and a DVR. There were DVDs and board games in the common area for everyone’s use. Breakfast in the morning was chef’s choice and made fresh. And there was so much of it! We had fresh fruit, granola, scrambled eggs, sausage, diced potatoes, and belgian waffles. It was yummy and very filling. Overall, we had a pleasant experience here. It was our first time staying at a B&B and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was warm and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

Under strenuous circumstances, I had to find a place in Luray that allowed two dogs.. . Not an easy find, especially if the change of plans forced you to book at the very last minute for a holiday weekend. Mayneview B&B delivered exactly what I needed!!! Yayayayay! Located about 2 – 3 blocks from Main street, easy access to restaurants and shops. I reserved the Huguenot Knight suite for me and the two pups. A large and spacious room with a queen size bed, living room area, refrigerator, microwave, attached bathroom.. . AND.. . get this, a large jacuzzi bathtub!!! I mentioned attached bathroom because there are some rooms where you have to walk down the hall to get to your bathroom. Yeah, not for me.. . No thank you! I like the convenience of an attached bathroom. It’s just too awkward to wake up early in the morning and run into strangers before you’re ready to face the world! The B&B other amenities are free wifi, books, magazines and DVDS, hot tub and large grassy area(key for dogs) Paul and Sally, the owners, are really nice. Multiple times during my stay they ask how the room was and how my pups are doing, asked if I needed anything else. They even invited me to a block party that the neighborhood was doing that weekend. Free food, booze, games!!! Breakfast was great. This weekend, because of the volume of guests, they opted for a buffet style breakfast. I’m guessing that normally it will be more individualized. Even then I noticed that they had diet accommodations — trays clearly labeled«vegan» and«gluten free». Impressive, nice touch :-) Nice, cozy, comfortable place with cats roaming about outside and one very friendly indoor cat. Meaning if you have a cat allergy, you should probably inquire about that ;-)

Clean and comfy, but felt a baited and switched when I paid $ 140 to and not given notice that online payers are banned from the actual Mayneview and segregated in the Greentrea which is down the hill and not as cute w/no view of Shenandoah pk from the porch. The guy was ok enough but said since Hotels gets like a third of the payment so he puts us unluckies in the Greentrea. Hotels of course billed it as Mayneview and even gave me the address for Mayneview and I hold the guy there accountable for not having it made clear that all you will get is Greentrea. That window into the underworld of online booking was swell and all but I was livid. Especially as my lady’s face dropped after waiting with excitement on the porch with the amazing view at the Mayneview for the guy to show us to our room and then being directed to what in comparison looks like a hovel from the outside. The interior is better than the exterior at the Greentrea Then he put is in the room downstairs which was the cutsiest, but has a door that opens into the common area and has a“private” bathroom down the hall. He saw our pisstivity and mentioned the more private vacant room upstairs room which was smaller and not as cute but had a shower and toilet in the room with the sink in the bedroom. I felt downright exploited when he noted that that room would be 5 bucks extra. At this point I’m paying 145 for a small room in the Mayneview’s homely sister down the street(20 bucks more than it would have cost for the actual Mayneview if I’d reserved through them directly) and I hold it together for the sake of the lady but I’m close to going for this guy’s throat. In sum. Don’t book online. Breakfeast was alright, and I was hungry. We had two sausages and a baked cinamonroll dipped in egg kind of like french cinnamon roll toast and zuchinini bread oj and coffee. I had a good night’s sleep except for the rednecks on the block who were either popping off a few rounds or shooting firecrakers at 11pm the weekend before the 4th. Overall it was fine and he didn’t sweat me for the 5 bucks(he must have noticed the vein swelling on my forehead). Once again: book directly wirh Mayneview and not w/Hotels.com or Expedia or else you’ll be in the Greentrea which has neither the ahhh view from the huge porch nor the architectural charm of the Mayneview.
