We came here for a weekend getaway. Loved it! We stayed in the Johnson room, it has a jacuzzi which I think was one of the nicest I’ve ever used. The owner is really cool and she cooks a mean breakfast. It is a quiet house and it’s right in Luray, so you can walk to the Main Street. It’s a Victorian style house so it has a lot of personality. This is a great place to go to stay in a small town and meet great people. Make sure to visit the River Hill Distillery while you’re there, it’s a mile away and the whiskey is fantastic!

What a beautiful old Inn in Luray, Virginia. Equiped with external hot tub and jacuzzis in the bedrooms, it’s really a can’t miss accomodation experience. The house was built in 1882 and sat vacant for many years. In 1987, it was about to be demolished by City Council, when it was rescued by the Woodruff family, who refurnished it and converted into an Inn. Donna was a great host. She was available and accessible at all times during our stay. She made an amazing Virginia-style, country breakfast. She also made terrific suggestions on what to see and where to go around town. 5 stars for this gem and a huray for Luray!

4.5 stars. We stayed at the Rooftop Suite. The suite encompasses the entire attic, and it is huge. A jacuzzi and a shower stall split the two sides of the suite. There is a private toilet stall and a sitting area on one end of the room with a sofa bed for another person, if needed. At the other end is a Queen-sized bed and a flat-screen TV… and all of the amenities throughout. Nothing is overlooked at this full-service Bed & Breakfast. At check-in, we were greeted by Donna, who manages this establishment. She provided us with a map and dining recommendations, gave us a brief tour, and offered us complimentary baked goods and refreshments. Didn’t bring any shampoo, conditioner or soap? They’re in nifty dispensers in the shower. Want to read a book but you forgot to bring one? You can choose any one of the Reader’s Digest collections from the shelf. Want to enjoy a quiet activity that doesn’t involve electronics? Grab a puzzle or a board game… or relax in the jacuzzi. There’s also a coffeemaker in the room and complimentary cream Sherry. Regarding the actual bed in «Bed & Breakfast,» the mattress is firm but the springs were just a tad squeaky(hence the 0.5 deduction). By the way, if it concerns you, the door to the toilet stall doesn’t have a lock or a latch. As for breakfast, it’s a home-run. Donna serves fruit salad, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, any-style eggs, skillet potatoes, sausages, and a biscuit to –each– guest. You won’t have to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Seriously. Donna is a friendly and gracious host. We hope to return to the area and stay here again.
