I had previously done business with David, who did a nice job upholstering my furniture and creating beautiful draperies for my home in NY. When we moved out of state, we returned the drapery and David altered the drapery to fit our new home. Unfortunately, David has now retired and his son Zach is now running the business into the ground. We took in 5 seat cushions to be re-upholstered on 7⁄9. At first they weren’t ready on the day promised, then Zach didn’t show up to open the store, the he was going to ship the cushions to us, which he never did and finally last Friday told me he couldn’t find boxes to ship the cushions in! All the while he avoided my phone calls, ignored my text messages and used caller ID to screen calls which he never returned. Finally I sent my son to the store and he and his wife babysat Zach while he struggled to finish the upholstery that had been promised for completion over 4 weeks ago. Zach is clearly acting unprofessionaly, behaving irrationally and exhibiting behavior of a person under the influence of illegal substances. I recommend avoiding this establishment until such time as the current operator cleans up his act and restores the badly tarnished reputation of his father’s business.

Never ever ever go here. My family wanted to have some chairs reupholstered… the son had them for 6 months!!! even after having them for 6 months he still did not have the chairs done!!! The store is dirty, filthy actually, the shelves in the store all look like they are breaking down and getting ready to fall apart. We finally got our chairs(which again were NOT done) and they reeked of marijuana and the guy at the store looked high as a kite. 6 months this guy had our chairs and he hadn’t even done anything with them… This guy is clearly a joke. The store is disgustingly dirty and filthy… It’s bad news all around.

I decided to «shop local» for this establishment. I went in and requested slip covers for my love seat. I should have been tipped off upon my entrance into the store and turned around and left. The son of the owner and his girlfriend were asleep on the chairs inside; they were not the cleanest looking people-and there was a very strong scent of an illicit substance wafting from behind the counter. When they finally awoke, he took my information, texted his dad, and and then quoted $ 700 for slipcovers and fabric(sailcloth)-he didn’t give me the break down of X being cost of fabric and X cost of the labor, etc. Again, I should have taken this as a sign. The fabric arrived at the store and I picked it up. I was told I’d paid for the fabric and it was mine. The next step was to have the the fabric cutter then came to my house to measure, etc. A week later, David calls and says the slipcover is ready to pick up but that he underestimated the job and it was going to be DOUBLE the price. I could not believe it. He then said the cost of business is so expensive, blah blah blah. After listening to this insane diatribe, I told him that it wasn’t my problem –his employee measured, not me, and perhaps he should have called BEFORE he completed the work to advise it was going to be DOUBLE the price to determine if I wanted to move ahead. Instead, he continued with the job, didn’t say a thing to me and think I’d be ok paying $ 1400 for a slipcover! I could buy a new Pottery Barn COUCH for that price. He then told me that I am stealing from his family, and that I misrepresented the job(!) even though, I just told him«love seat» and«slipcover» and his employee was the one who came to my house to take measurements, etc. Incredibly rude, and totally and completely unprofessional. Not sure how he is in business treating people this way-not to mention the disastrous appearance of the store and his son and his girlfriend. Truly horrific experience. Do not shop here.
