Against my better judgement because prior to recent renovations and people recently sharing they turned the place around it was a dump. I walked in sat by the hostess and was left there for 10 minutes with no one approaching me for a drink or to order. As I walked out and said to the manager who I talked to coming in, I asked how long do you think I’m here, 10 minutes I ask. He agrees. When I told him no one came to help me and that I was leaving he cared less and barley got the words I’m sorry out of his mouth. Understaffed and terribly managed! Find somewhere else to go. Dump and the ratings tell the story.

The diner seems a bit run down and the food is expensive! it took about an hour and a half since we sat down to get our food! One waiter took our order and I guess another one took her spot and wasn’t able to read her handwriting! They never refilled our drinks so we sat there hungry and thirsty. When the food came out the portions were GIANT so if you aren’t so hungry I suggest sharing with somebody else! The food was okay but the philly cheese steak was sliced meat with craft American cheese!

Not sure why some wrote negative results, but there may be new management or upgrade in the kitchen. The Place looks clean, Breakfast cooked to order, attentive staff, and my kid gets to pick a balloon as we leave. My son’s mommy and me breakfast date here always turns out perfect.

I guess I’m over-sensitive to smell, but especially early in the morning before breakfast. The waitress reeked of a very off-putting sickly sweet. floral scent. Then the busboy had his own miasma. Let’s face it, food servers should have no discernible smell, ever. On the food side, weakest coffee I can remember — not what you want at 6am, if ever. Couldn’t even use milk or no taste at all. Egg, potatoes, sausage, toast all cooked exactly as ordered, which is a rarity. Sausage had hardly any flavor though; where are the usual herbs and spices? Service OK. But I won’t be back.

Let me first start by saying that this is the cleanest diner I’ve been to in a while, the food is fresh and cooked properly and the staff was extremely attentive & professional. I highly recommend this diner to anyone looking for great food, great service and good company.

The only reason i click one star is because there wasn’t a blank one. The service are rude, wait too long and the food is reheated and served. Disgusting and needs a Board of Health evaluation. Unless you want to be sick, eat there. If not, then scratch this place from your list.

This is the worst diner– the food was terrible and overpriced. Some people are saying, «well, it’s a diner, what do you expect.» To those who are saying that, your standards are pitifully low. The butter was melted and refrigerated numerous times. The pats were discolored and some were just puddles. The pancakes seemed like the frozen stop and shop brand. It was just disgusting and OVERPRICED. The manager was extremely rude and spoke to me in a completely disrespectful manner. It was totally appalling. Trust me, you want diner food?.. Go the extra mile down the road and get something edible and affordable. Give Lynbrook Diner a shot if you want overpriced slop with a side of attitude and poor service. SAD.

Excellent diner! Food was tasty and the service was professional. Ask for the new waiter John. He was very concerned that we were happy!

So we are new to the area and decided to grab some diner food. After all, I am from Brooklyn, and a neighborhood can only be as good as it’s local diner… So I came here on a Sunday morning with the wife and kid. As far as diners go, we walk in, typical desserts on display, a bar counter with spinning seats. The diner is split into 2 sections. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and there was no wait to be seated. They were accommodating(we needed a section where we can use our booster seat) and showed us to our table. Typical fare for a diner, prices fair and we ordered. the food took a little while to come out, but it was OK, not too long of a wait. About 10 minutes into our meal, i hear leaking, not the dripping kind, but like someone just turned on the shower. I look to my left and its literally leaking from the ceiling about 2 feet from where i am sitting. We flag down the waitstaff and they instruct us to move over to the booth, no more than 30 seconds after we move, the water starts dripping right where we were just sitting. Luckily for us, we moved when we did, otherwise this would have been a totally different type of review. At this point we are getting splashed from the water hitting the tables and buckets they placed to catch the water. We were promptly moved to the other side of the restaurant and reseated. The waiters bring us our food we originally ordered, but then the owner(I assume or his wife) say bring them new food. So we were given fresh food and reseated. All the while they were so apologetic. And at the end of the meal, they even gave us a discount. Considering the leak was due to circumstances beyond their control, i think they handled it well. So we will be coming back to here as they did the best they could, and the food was pretty good.

Being in the restaurant business, I would never INMYLIFE, have handled the situation that I just encountered, the way it was handled. Was out to dinner at the shit hole of an establishment and ordered the 2 for 30 $ meals. Well my meal came with something EXTRASPECIAL in my food. A nice piece of hair embedded into my food. Well they took my meal and asked if they could get me anything else, I said no. Well the check came, and instead of just charging for 1 meal, which should have been 15 $, I got charged the mean at full price, instead of the special, which was 17 $ in change on top of being charged for the soup that came with the meal special, which was another few dollars. And not only did the manager not comp the meal, how it should have been, they had the AUDACITY to say the hair was mine. NEVER as someone who works in the food service industry, would I have done this, to a paying customer. They say, for every bad experience a customer has, they tell 10 people about it, well, I will be telling everyone and there mother TONEVEREATATYOURDINER!

Get this straight, this is a diner. It’s open when nobody else is. If you are looking for fine dining and gourmet preparation, go back to sleep and try again tomorrow. The food is decent, the service was prompt and polite. I left satisfied.

This place was a decent diner for late breakfast with the family. However, it was a little pricy and our food took a while to come. Our waitress was nice but the hottess sat us in a booth that was underneath an air filter. I didn’t like that bc what if dust goes into my food! However, it was a decent diner

Listen, I’m gonna save you all some time. DONOTGOTOTHISDINER. We all know that long island knows their diners well and this one just does not cut it. The food quality is fine but the time wasted by the poor service is just too much to bare when so many diners in the area can get it right. Multiple times I’ve given this place a chance. Multiple times they have come up short. Its like the diner becomes half way full and everyone loses their minds. I’m rambling now so I’ll stop. So in closing do not waste your time by letting Lynbrook diner waste your time.

Just a diner as far as food is concerned. They seem to have a hatred for anyone outside of their wished target demographic, which as far as I can tell that target is anyone over 40. Never had good service here, stopped going.

Haters gonna hate. I used to loathe that saying, but it seems apropos considering all the vitriol spewed at the Lynbrook Diner in these reviews. My opinion is that the majority of reviewers… 1) have been here once and had some sort of issue which they feel equates to a one or two star judgement. 2) are so enthralled by the myriad«chic» diners be-speckling Long Island that they judge Lynbrook’s décor as shabby and unkempt. 3) have never tried to find food at 4:00AM on a Saturday morning Lynbrook Diner is a straight forward diner, with no pretension of hipness. It may not be gourmet, but it certainly isn’t inedible. That may not seem like a glowing recommendation, but my point is that the Lynbrook Diner does a good job when a good job is required. «Are you hungry?» Then eat at Lynbrook. «Do you want to impress someone?» Then why the fuck would you take them to a diner?

«Not worth it anymore» My girlfriend and I have been going to the Lynbrook Diner — mostly for breakfast — since dating for more than three years. The location is a one minute drive from her home — convenient location with plenty of parking. The food was mostly OK, sometimes good but never great. The staff is mostly kind and we got to be friendly with some of them. One Sunday morning — about two weeks ago — we went to the diner, were seated where it was somewhat busy, but something was not right. We were served menus and water right away, but no one came to the table for over 10 minutes. The staff passed by our table several time, but no one would look at or acknowledge us. I got up, went to the owner and told her we needed someone to take our food order. That’s when the trouble started. The owner asked three waitresses all in the area who was assigned to our table and all replied it wasn’t theirs. The owner assigned a waitress to our table. With all the staff walking around our table, I would think at least one person would ask if we were being helped. I decided the quality of the food and the staff was not worth it anymore. We now travel two miles and ten minutes east on Sunrise highway to the Rockville Center Diner. The trip is longer, there’s no convenient parking and it costs 50% more, but it’s worth it. The staff is friendly and the food is superb.

This is just a regular diner. Nothing special at all. They have everything that any other diner would have, so why do I hate coming here? Probably because I always have to beg for a coffee refill. It’s not as if this has happened one time, either. Every time I come here it’s the same old story. Lynbrook Diner would probably get a three star review if it wasn’t for this. At Golden Reef Diner, the waitress always comes around with coffee. She practically forces you to drink it! Maybe I drink my coffee too fast and the folks at Lynbrook can’t keep pace? Little things make all the difference. Where’s my coffee refill!!!

This used to be one of my go to diners… key words: «used to.» Is this diner open 24⁄7? Yes. Will you get your standard diner food with the occasional specials? Yes. Is the food stack up compared to other nearby diners? No. From the service, to the divey interior, this place is a step down from most of the other places. Most dishes I’ve had have never really stood out to me. Dishes would be burnt, or overcooked often, especially the pancakes, and the prices are high for the quality you are getting. Even the breakfast specials are expensive and are hardly deals in themselves(although this place used to be affordable). In a word, mediocre. This isn’t the diner I remember going to after watching a meteor shower with my Dad at 4 in the morning, eating a nice breakfast as the sun rose. That time from many years ago is a distant memory.

Review based on breakfast experience. Horrible! Ordered french toast on challah bread — received soggy piece of bread with raw egg all over it. Looks like it may have only been seared by heat, but the middle was completely raw yolk. I ordered my corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, got them over easy. Then, I notice my baby girl’s scrambled eggs are not only RAW, but there were actual pieces of egg shells in it. We actually walked out.
