Great place, fast and polite staff, and great tasting food for a fair price. I’m from Lynchburg born and raised, and I can definitely say if your from out of town or a Lynchburger this is the place to go for a great breakfast or a fantastic lunch. And if your lucky you might get to use Christmas coffee mug. 5 stars

Awesome place, great atmosphere either at the bar or a booth. The cooks carry on and are hilarious. The home made dreamsicle cheese cake, sweet potato and cornbread pancakes are amazing. The servers are right on time. I cannot say enough great things.

Get the food. Seriously it’s all good. Phenomenal breakfast foods, but it’s all good. You can grab a 6-pack on the way out too.

Must give a positive before I go into my real review… Their corn cakes are amazing! That being said… Not enough of a reason for me to frequent this place. I order the Hummus plate as an appetizer and the waitress decided not to let me know that they were out of pita chips, so the plate came with english muffins cut up instead?! Eww! Not to mention the fact that there was meatloaf crumbs from someone else’s meal on the hummus plate… Not sure if the plate has be wash properly before the food was placed on it. Attention to detail(even the BIG ones) is lacking here.

The spinach artichoke dip is amazing! I’ve also had the Mac and Cheese, it’s better than MY Grandma’s Mac and Cheese(Kraft); however, it’s just meh. The atmosphere is a little noisy and the half convenient store is a good concept but, lacks substance. The staff has always(minus once when they were super busy) been friendly and helpful.

Very large restaurant, kid friendly with a small town feel. Breakfast was delicious, they definitely put their own spin on biscuits and gravy but it was great. I would definitely way here again.

The burgers were amazing! My wife and I were on a long trip, and after visiting another place in town for food, and leaving, we ended up here, The service was great, the food was incredible, and they had some of the best burgers I’ve had.

After hearing great things about Market at Main, I tried it out for lunch. I got the sweet potato pancakes with a side of bacon. After trying these pancakes, no other pancake will be able to live up to sweet potato pancakes! They were fantastic! The restaurant is located in 2 historic buildings in downtown Lynchburg, and the history feels alive in the place. The ambiance is perfect!

You walk in and love this place. It feels like your local sandwich and breakfast shop. Like you come here every Sunday for your go-to breakfast favorites. You know what I mean? The menu is almost too full of options. I had the FGBLT(fried green tomato blt) with sweet potato fries. It was a fun twist on a blt. My bacon was creepy, rue nicely toasted, lightly mayoed, and how I love a good fried green tomato. The club my mom ordered was good, but clubs are always a safe bet — I guess until you have your first floppy bacon. That’s a dream crusher. About the location — it’s big, really big. There is an exposed kitchen with some diner style sitting so you can sit in front of it. The rest are wood high backed cozy benches and some local art to observe. Breakfast is also served all day! You’ll grow old trying to order everything on their menu, but start trying.

I was in Lynchburg for a yoga training. I ate here 3 times. Two breakfasts and a dinner. Each meal was perfect – sweet potato pancakes, fried green tomatoes twice, chicken Caesar that had a gentle dressing and freshly roasted chicken – not airport chicken. Wine is cheap(and decent) and filled glass to the brim. I am walkin’ outta here one content yogi. Ps. They brought me a roll of tape to fix my glasses!

Breakfast all day? Yes please! We stopped in for lunch while visiting the Lynchburg area. It’s great historical building. The menu is extensive. My 2 cons that knocked it down from a 4 star are the noise level. Noise travels in there and with the large tables it was hard to hear my family. Second, was the sweet potato pancakes. They were good but it was a signature dish so I was hoping it would«wow» me. I would definitely go again if I’m in the area.

Breakfast and lunch place. I guess you can call this a home-town kinda place. All the locals adore it and it does serve middle of the road stuff but this is definitely not a five star place. Service is excruciatingly slow. Because of that, the wait is long… can’t turn those tables when you can’t serve the first comers… While the selection is decent, nothing really blows you away taste wise. This is more an exercise in refueling. The interior is kjnd of quirky cool. Large and ineresting ceiling fans churn the hot air while you wait for coffee… and wait for coffee… The servers are definitely pleasant and helpful but if you sit at the counter, you can watch the kitchen in action and it is a mongolian cluster-f$#k there which explains the wait on the floor. Coffee is hot and decent but hard to get them to refill you… and I drink a lot of coffee. All in all decent cost and middle of the road food. Give it a shot, it may work for you.

Had breakfast here the other day. Nothing fancy about the place, but it has a home-y feel to it. Service was very prompt and she answered all the questions I had, since I hadn’t been here before. I ordered the Apple Cinnamon French Toast and it was very tasty! Great place, I would definitely return. :)

Visiting from Utah and was told that I had to have the expanded it at this place I did and they were wonderful! Had the eggs Benedict combination of the Chesapeake and Regina; so my eggs Benedict had a slice of fried green tomato and a crab cake. Absolutely awesome! The corn cakes are extremely good too. Prices are awesome and staff was great.

A friend visiting from Winchester wanted to take me out for breakfast yesterday before he left — he suggested ‘Waffle House or something like that ’ I suggested MoM(hadn’t been for a long time) and we were both really impressed and satisfied! Friday morning at 9:30am it was moderately busy but not crowded… just enough business to feel fun & active. Got seated right away and had the nicest server… very sweet, friendly & capable(Cynthia)!! My buddy had eggs, ham, potatoes, toast with a side of cheese grits(which btw are the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant) plus a couple sweet potato pancakes(at Cynthia’s recommendation). Sweet potato pancakes rocked!!! We both loved them! I got the Pig in the Garden(BLT with pimento cheese) also with a side of cheese grits… yum!!! We were both super happy with everything — delicious and we were treated so nicely. It was great! The BLT could use a bit more pimento cheese on it if you ask me, but it was still really really good! When we asked for the check she also brought us more of our respective beverages in ‘to go’ cups! I think my friend will be coming back to visit me and Lynchburg now! Highly recommend!

A group of friends and I came to have breakfast at Market at Main after a recommendation from one of my roommates. It was the first time for all of us. Overall, we were pretty okay with our breakfast, but coming from San Diego(where breakfast is out of this world), I really think Market at Main could use a little more creativity. Although I was a little disappointed with the menu, I was delighted to see that they had at least one interesting item — sweet potato pancakes. My friend called dibs, so I chose something else, but I really should have ordered the same thing(what a mistake!). The pancakes were perfect!

I love market on Main. I was introduced to MAM as a breakfast spot after Boy Scout sleepover is it amazement Square. They have a fantastic breakfast selection great omelettes and the best sweet potato pancakes I’ve ever had. The hamburgers are a bit small and 5 ounces. And because you’re so busy there often a bit slow so give yourself some time. But it’s well worth the wait. I definitely recommend coming here.

I really enjoy this place! Now, keep in mind I’m very much okay with criticizing places, but I have nothing bad to say about it. I love coming here for any meal during the day or night(especially breakfast). Honestly everything I have had here has been pretty good, and at a good price! I like the well-lit atmosphere; even the loud cooks barking out orders. It never seems to fail: a welcoming, friendly place, for all ages and occasions. Here’s my tip: avoid Sunday brunch if you can, or get there before church gets out; there are just too many people for the ‘church crowd’.

You can read other reviews or look at pictures for information about the décor of this place. There’s plenty of descriptive examples. What we need to discuss is how mediocre this place is. Out of the well of times I’ve been to this place only a drop has been worth my money. Why do I keep coming then? Location. People keep insisting I meet them for breakfast/brunch/lunch here because it’s in a convenient spot in a downtown atmosphere that doesn’t offer an abundance of dining options. Last time I was here, I had the BLT with pimento cheese. I wrote a tip begging people to try it. I raved about it to friends. The fear of being disappointed by this place gone now that I had found my dish. Sadly, consistency is not a trait this place holds dear. The sandwich, yeah, let’s talk about it. Awful. Initially I sent it back because there was barely any pimento cheese on it. Remember, I’ve had this sandwich before. I know it’s potential and what I was served was a sad excuse of a faux grilled cheese. You can see the cooks and wait staff interact in this restaurant so when they complain to each other, guess what, the customer sees it. Classy. Really. When the sandwich came back I ate half of it and couldn’t stomach the rest. The Farmbasket in Lynchburg serves a pimento cheese sandwich, which I’ve had multiple times, and never has it failed to be satisfactory. You know why? Because a pimento cheese sandwich is a really hard thing to mess up. Yet, somehow, this place succeeded at this failure. I agree with other Unilocalers. This place is a bland house of food just hiding behind pretty décor.

Went with the crab cake sandwich that was ok here. The bread was pretty chalky and not very soft with the sweet potato fries being cold. Maybe I just caught a bad cook this day so I would possibly give them another shot since its jam packed and everyone seems to like it. Service was good and the prices were very cheap. I have my eyes on the fried green tomatoes and wings if I make it back again.
