Food not bad. But I have one question for them: I’ve ordered delivery and green curry comes without rice .is it usual?

The Mrs. has lived in town for decades and has an undying loyalty to New Great Wall whenever we’re getting Chinese take-out. But she suggested to try somewhere new(gasp!) and we also love Thai so we gave them a shot and they delivered.(That pun was awful, I know.) We knew it was going to be unique and different — the food was delivered by a young blonde gal and not an older Asian gentleman. We rip open the bag and find that most of the food was packaged in plastic(Mother Earth is deducting a star!) and not the classic take-out containers. We start to dig in… the Won-Ton Soup(one of my all-time faves) — the dumplings were a darker and richer color, not that bland gray. The broth was lacking in flavor and in dire need of some hot mustard(not included in the bag!) but those dumplings were spot-on. Minus the broth — everything else we had was better than New Great Wall — things just tasted better, fresher, more vibrant. Yes, you’re paying a pretty penny more than usual but it was well worth it.(I think Red Basil in Rutherford is still better for the Thai-related goodies we tried.) Hell — even their fortune cookies were different… they included a website on the one side. This is 2016 — get with it New Great Wall… you’re getting left in the dust.

I’m torn on the number of stars to give this place, but I feel that 2 stars is warranted so I’m going to stick with that. My husband and I were really hungry one Friday night after work and didn’t feel like cooking or leaving to go out to eat so we ordered in. This was my first time ordering from thai nese and I can safely say I never will again. It took about 2 hours for the food to be delivered even though the estimated wait time was 40 minutes and when we called to see what the delay was we were answered by a rude woman on the other end of the line telling us to be patient. My husband got the fried chicken wings as an app and a tofu dish as an entrée. He really did like the chicken wings, but said the tofu left much to be desired. This is exactly how I felt about the chicken pad Thai I ordered. It was ok, but was definitely missing key elements in the dish. I wish chopped peanuts would have been added and a lime for garnish, but something else was missing that I couldn’t put my finger on. Maybe a flavor or a spice, I’m not really sure. Needless to say I will not be trying anything else from there again.

This was absolutely fantastic! We ordered delivery at 9:10, which is horrible, I know, but it’s vacation in New York! Even though we ordered late the food was steaming hot and exceptionally delicious! We definitely recommend the red curry. We found a menu at our hotel the residence inn and looked it up on Unilocal before ordering. The 4.5 star rating definitely helped us decide.

Maybe it was because I tried Thai at a Chinese spot; but it was pretty terrible. And pretty expensive considering what it was. The smell was weird and already a turnoff, but then the edamame was good and I had faith in the food. Well, I made pb&j instead. Did I mention it was bad lol

I’ll make this short and simple. AMAZING. OBSESSED. We called on a Sunday night at 9pm and they were still open yay. I had the pineapple curry with tofu, it was outstanding. My boyfriend(who is impossible to please) LOVEDIT! I can’t wait to order more food from them!

Having a hard week, I let myself get a carb-heavy dish like pad see-ew. Now, given the name of the place, making a pork selection and getting a Chinese-style pork barbecue makes sense. That could actually be a cool variation. I travel all the time be you never know what you’ll find in a strip mall. Sometimes the BEST places are in strip malls. The thing is pad see-ew needs that heavy sweet Thai soy sauce to get caramelized with the rice noodles and there needs to be some bitter greens to offset the sweetness but both were seriously lacking. That didn’t happen. It was certainly edible and okay, but it wasn’t pad see-ew in my book.

Love their chicken on the stick and Singapore chaomifun! Very reasonable price with no sacrifice to the quality. The owner is super nice. I could not finish 2 orders of chicken on the stick and she was nice enough to charge me 1 and half orders.

Best place for thai noodle soups. Tom yum with rice noodles and shrimp is my favorite. They aren’t jumbo shrimp but are pretty abundant for $ 12.95. Would recommend for lunch if you work in the area.

I enjoyed my 1st visit. Not your typical Chinese food place. Everything was plated on nice dinnerware which was a pleasant surprise from the normal cafeteria tray with plastic utensils. Food and preparation was definitely a cut above the rest in terms of overall quality. Thai peppersteak, wonton soup and eggrolls all passed the test. Nothing was greasy and everything seemed fresh. The food did not have that gelatenous sauce which all the other places seem to use, and the spicy food was actually spicy! Something that has gone missing from all the normal takeout spots. I will definitely go back and explore the menu. I definitely recommend you give them a try if you miss some of the quality that has gone away from other Chinese food places lately.

Only ordered once… Got the pad Thai to go. Huge portion for the price, not authentic Thai food but still good. Looking forward to trying more!

My rating is based on a one time order I have made here. To begin, I made an order for pick up so I was able to see the place, it is small but it looks like a typical Chinese takeout spot. In regards to price I paid $ 10.54 for chicken pad thai which came in a container that is usually used for small orders or lunch menus that cost $ 6. However in comparison to fancy places that serve Thai food it is approximately the same amount of food you are getting. However, it may have been that I ordered at 10:30 p.m. and people wanted to leave, but my chicken pad thai was so ridiculously dry I got home and added sesame ginger salad dressing just to give it some flavor. Now for the amount of money paid I do not justify that as being reason enough to get some dry pad thai… also please note that I am an avid Thai food eater so I know my stuff… maybe better luck next time?

For a new restaurant, they don’t waste any time giving your tastbuds a good first impression. The menu has a very good selection of your typical Chinese take-out and Thai food. Hence the name, Thainese. I’m addicted to their Thai Chicken on a Stick, egg fried rice, and Curry fried rice. Delivery is fast, the food is fresh, and the staff is friendly.

Very good service! I only call for delivery at work and have never ate at the restaurant but the man who delivers always arrives promptly! The food that I have ordered has always been very good and I am never left unsatisfied. You receive a large portion for the price you pay as well, which is another great plus, because I will then save the rest of my food for the following day. I highly recommend thai-nese fusion for great food and service!

We wanted to try a new local Chinese spot. Ordered dumplings and General Tso chicken. The pork dumplings were the equivalent to dog food and the chicken tasted old and over sauced. Just not good and gross. Had a few bites and my finance spit it out. Will not go back. Do not recommend.

I can’t agree with the high ratings of the other reviewers. This place is very much like a typical Chinese takeout restaurant. I thought the food was good. But, it was, in my opinion, overcooked and had too much sauce and oil. I would get takeout from here again, despite these issues.

NY quality Thai food at NJ prices!!! Located in shopping center with large Shop-Rite, this is a WELCOME find for those of us in Lyndhurst/Rutherford area! Too tired to cook, I repeated my first order tonight: Chicken with Basil leaves dinner(includes salad with spicy peanut sauce). Enough food for me to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Can you say WINWIN? Visit #3 and I went with Ginger Chicken YUM!

Don’t go to this place close to their closing time. If the chairs are up and they look like they’re preparing to close then keep it moving. Don’t cheat me out of good food just because you want a few extra dollars. Something is wrong if pad thai is ready in 10minutes. That should’ve told us everything and sure enough the taste equated with the time it was prepared. It wasn’t good… at all. I’ve ordered from this place a couple of times and my food was good, but that night all I had was pure disappointment.

We saw the sign out on New York Ave and was intrigued enough to try it out. What looks like a little take out joint with a few tables is actually a refreshing addition to the take out fare around this area. While the menu was mostly Chinese, we selected two of their Thai dishes for a test drive. Thai basil tofu was good, steaming hot with wafting trails of fish sauce, thai bird chilies, and basil… and the fresh clean odor of kaffir lime leaves. Featuring chopped green beans and a bit on onion, this spicy dish hit the spot. The Thai Seafood Soup, equally good and tasty was brimming with seafood and fresh lime juice creating a sour, slightly thickened broth. Calamari, shrimp, scallop, and kani stick were the stars of this generous portion. The price point was average, service was friendly, and the food we selected exceeded our expectations. Using ingredients like fresh lime leaves, Thai basil… it really amps up the flavor level of the dish. It shows that the BOH knows what they’re doing. While they may be new, they didn’t waste any time giving our tastbuds a good first impression.
