I’ve visited a number of restaurants in this plaza, and have been disappointed with most, so heading into this meal, I didn’t have very high expectations, which probably made the meal that much better! Started with the short-rib empanada. You only get two, but they’re a pretty good size. They put jalapeño in the empanada, so if spicy’s not your thing, be warned! These were pretty darned fresh for a deep-fried option, quite tasty. Oh, the drinks! My wife ordered the Primo, I ordered the Pina Paraiso. Priced similarly, but my drink was a bit bigger(and tastier). The waitress gave me the heads up that it was effectively a piña colada, so I asked for a bit of strawberry to be tossed in, and did that make the difference(I would highly recommend this drink for a smooth/sweet flavor). Entrée time! I ordered the swordfish with crab, my wife ordered the mixed fajita. The crab was the highlight of my meal; swordfish was a bit bland(but that’s better than too fishy). The portion-size of my wife’s entrée was a bit small, or at least the meat portion was. It was piled high atop many a pepper & onions to make it look larger. The quality of the meat was good though. I ordered a side of street corn, while I enjoyed the flavor, 1 ear of grilled corn isn’t really worth $ 5 to me, so I’d probably skip that next time. Onto dessert, churros. All the desserts are reasonably priced at $ 6. Churros were tasty, a bit more caramel would’ve been great, but there was more than enough chocolate sauce(which was mmm, mmm good). Ambiance — I like the look of this place. TVs around the bar works for me, I don’t think they needed all the TVs in the dining area. High/open ceilings, shiny everything. They had the patio open because the weather was nice. This is a slightly higher end Mexican restaurant(compared to OTB, Chilis, etc.), and it attracted a wide range in clientele(those lavishly and casually dressed) & staff. Quality — Top marks on quality… really, every dish was perfectly prepared, and seemed to have some of the freshest ingredients(which was unexpected on the empanadas!). Drinks were great. Quantity — Some of the portion sizes were smaller than I had anticipated(fajitas & side o’corn), but not unreasonably so. Value — This place is higher-end than your average casual Mexican fare, so if you’re looking for a $ 5 taco, best look elsewhere. But for the quality, I’d say this place is very good. Service — Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Sometimes service was spot on, and other times we found ourselves waiting a bit longer than we would’ve liked(not unreasonably so, but when you’re waiting to order & get the check, 10 minutes feels like forever! Overall — I like this place and will definitely be back, when I’m craving slightly higher-end Mexican. Worth checking out, and definitely get one of the delicious drinks!

The food is delicious, but the service is disorganized. Other people in my party had ordered at the same time as me, but their food never came. I asked for my check since I was leaving early, but I never received it(I left cash on the table). Enchiladas were pretty yummy.

Don’t bother. Food is OK, and I was charged $ 20 for a Casamigos Tequlia on the rocks!

walked in on a Monday night. the bar are waiting 60 percent full, so there were plenty of seats at the bar. I sat down with my girlfriend and we were anticipating ordering a drink and an appetizer. However, 2 of the three bartenders on Staff looked us both in the eyes and ignored us. So we were shocked, so we waited a bit longer assuming they were really busy but they kept walking by so we left. funny thing it was not that busy… left to yard house and had drinks immediately.

I don’t understand why this place only has three stars. This place has probably the best Mexican food I’ve had in the Northeast. The sangria and guacamole is to die for. Every time I come in the restaurant is relatively empty and it really doesn’t make any sense at all. It is easily the best restaurant in the market street center. Anyway, all I can say is make the trip over here. You won’t be disappointed!

My office is near the Market Street location. When it first opened I really liked it. I think the quality of the food has really declined and others are noticing it because it’s the only place that’s dead during the day at lunch. The chips and salsa are decent, but not as good as Boarder Café. The drinks are meh, they never have the kick I like in a margarita. Service is usually okay but still pretty slow considering how empty the place usually is. The beans that come with the tacos used to be awesome, lately it’s been very watery and soupy. No bueno. The shell they use for the tacos is pretty gross. I had the Mexican chopped salad… it was okay, nothing I’d order again and the quesadillas aren’t very good. Atmosphere is fine and there is never a wait but I’d rather go to Legals or Davios in the same plaza.

Love the atmosphere and service. The bartender, Larry has a good knowledge on different types of tequilas and recommended what we would like. Some of my favorites were Tierras añejo organic, gran centenario añejo and Riazul añejo. Fantastic I live so close by this place will be my hangout place since my hubby and I are tequila connoisseurs.

Stopped here this week, it wasnt busy and i wanted a margo. Margo was good, went with the tried and true grand gold. The food was pretty good. The tacos werent consistantly cooked though. The dish came with two tacos and one tortilla was soft and flakey and the second one was goey and rubbery. I dunno how else to explain it but it was like eating a taco inside one of those rubbery jar openers. Aside from that i liked the place and will be back to try something else.

Very bland food, which is upsetting because the restaurant is beautiful and the drinks are good. You pay a lot and expect for better quality food. We’ve tried it a few times but always leave feeling Unsatisfied. Hoping they listen to some of the reviews and step it up– Will still go for some of the delicious drinks

Admittedly– I always order one of two things: the fish tacos or tuna in lettuce wrap. Both are to die for. I have never had better fish tacos– perfection. Things start out with warm super thin chips and salsa and bean dip. So much better than cold thick chips which seem to be standard fare elsewhere. If you want a real treat finish off with cinnamon Churos with caramel and ice cream. Unbelievable value. I highly recommend!!!

Tall female manager working last night at the front and with in the restaurant /dining area did an exceptional job last night. she kept things moving and the wait staff on there toes. My first time there and my dining experience as well as the he food was exceptional. This is no taco Bell so don’t expect crappy greasy food. Our waitress was great and checked in with us frequently enough to make sure our dining experience was great. Packed out to/go food up very nicely.

Went for the first time on a sunday night. Sat at the bar had GREAT margaritas and served chips with three different dips. Larry the bartender was super attentive and explained everything to us. My husbands a BIG fish taco credit because he makes delicious ones at home. Decided to try it. FINALLY A PLACEWITHDELICIOUSFISHTACOS! We did the blackened cajun fish taco. Lobster guacamole and shrimp ceviche for starters. I cant wait to go back and try the fajitas!

If you want Mexican food, don’t come here. But if you want American Mexican food(where there are no spicy menu options) then this place is a good option! This place definitely caters to the clientele that is in the area and it’s not somewhere I’d typically go, but I do have to say the the interior is very nice and they have an awesome wall of tequila bottles. Our waitress was pretty friendly and the complimentary chips with salsa was surprisingly delicious. We also ordered the nachos and jalapeño rellenos. Wasn’t a huge fan of the nachos, it was very poorly put together and the cheese they used was strange. The jalapeños were pretty good but not sure if it was worth the money. For my main course I got the lettuce ahi tuna tacos which were okay, but nothing great. There was an extreme lack of flavor/seasoning; just because something is fresh/healthier doesn’t mean that it has to be bland! Don’t think I’d come back unless coworkers want to come.

Not a bad place to visit, service slows a little bit down when it gets busy. Lightening is beautiful creates nice atmosphere . I ordered 4 beers with potato chips for 28 $. + you have to tip . I saw people with their kids there, saw old people as young, so must be a good place . I don’t know about their food, didn’t try it.

I had read the reviews, but took them with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, I should have heeded them. I met a friend for dinner at 6 on a Thursday night. The place was empty, so we were seated right away. I was a bit put off by the tvs everywhere — is this an upscale restaurant, or a sports bar? The waitress greeted us promptly, and although we said we hadn’t been there before, mumbled through a long list of new items, which was a little overwhelming. She made a big deal about the restaurant being a ‘scratch kitchen’. Chips were OK, the dips were weird. Soupy black beans, odd blended red salsa, and really weird sweet green salsa. I assume there were tomatillos in it, but I’ve never ever had anything quite like it. All three dips were pretty unappealing. My margarita was mostly ice, and wasn’t very good. Definitely not worth paying $ 12 for. It was inoffensive, but for $ 12, I want GOOD. My fried fish tacos were ok, but the rice and beans that came with them were unappealing. My friend did not enjoy her enchiladas verde at all. By the time we left at 8, the restaurant was filling up, and the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation. Service was fine, but the food and drinks were way overpriced and not anything I have a desire to order again. It’s a shame, as the location is great and the patio seems really appealing, but with so many other more appealing choices at Market Street, I won’t be back.

Food sucks service sucks. I found a hair in my food and the manager accused me if putting it there. Also our table waited over twenty minutes before someone took our order. Do not go here it sucks.

My wife an I went here for supper tonite. It was a busy Friday night we sat at the bar, I met my wife there she already had her cocktail. It took me 20 minutes to get my cocktail. The bar severely understaffed. The enchalata was was so microwave the shell tasted like a potato chip. We won’t be back anytime soon.

I was attending a friend’s birthday dinner when having my first experience at Temazcal via the Lynnfield location. First off, décor is fabulous, beautiful arrangements, lovely place, parking is a nightmare on Market Street regardless of time or day… Otherwise, location is nice. First off, service is nice, polite, accommodating, our waitress was helpful given the fact we were a larger party. She was fast and quick witted with our group, it was a nice change from some places with poor services. Our plates and flatware were clean, no issues, everything available on the table as we sat and ordered, didn’t need to ask for a thing. My issue with this place was the food. Seriously, the prices are quite expensive, horrible food. We ordered virtually everything from the tacos to the calamari — what bland cheap tasting food! I can’t believe this is okay by their standards; restaurant chain or not, you don’t charge this much for 99 Restaurant quality bar food. I personally in addition to the several appetizers and small plates ordered their shrimp dish. It was dry, flavorless and rubbed with so much chili I almost choked. I was shocked we left pretty hungry and disappointed. The only thing that was nice was the drinks — clearly the bartenders have a concept of creativity and quality assurance. I would deeply consider changing your menu to promote more tradition tex-mex food or at least arrange the flavors to MAKE sense with wholesome ingredients and quality. It tasted like everything was microwaved. I’ll be sticking to Border Café for my tex-mex, thanks.

First time here and wow, I was really impressed with the setup of the place. Not very Mexican looking but very awesome. As far as drinks this is probably the only Mexican place that is very commercial that has actual Mexican beers. Corona doesn’t count, Modelo is one but one of my favorites and my father in laws also is Bohemias. A very good beer that’s not like the rest. The staff is really nice the décor and plates and cups are really cool looking very old country style. Definitely try to get the bean dip for your chips, it’s amazing you will eat that more than the salsa they give. The food was really good filling and a reasonable size so not to big. Definitely would come back here again, just for the beer and that bean dip.

We went to tezmacal with our friends on sunday night. It is located in lynnfield marketplace. Pretty good place to hangout walk around and shop if there is waiting We were seated fairly quickly as it was quite dead. The server greeted us and got the menu and also water fairly quick. I must say the service was. really good and at least 1.5 stars for that. She got us the chips and salsa quickly and i must say the red house slasa if off the hook good We started of with nachos and guacamole. Both of them were quite good. Nachos felt lil more to desire as it only had cheese sauce, queso fresca cheese and very light black beans and guac on top. Some other stuff like olives peppers etc would have been good I ordered chicken fajita while wifey got the platines veggie empenadas. Chicken fajitas came with extra small side of rice and spicy cabbage with no other fixings at all and for price that was a lot to desire. The empenadas were quite good. Very tasty and good size. Friends got masa pasta which is pasta dish on the mexican side. They were fond of it and seemed good Overall the food was just decent for the price. Given choice i would chk out and go to howling wolf taqueria in salem MA than tezmecal
