Heritage Ridge Apartments

I want to start off with saying my girlfriend and I were always quite never usually home except at night and we always paid our rent on time and hardly ever complained about anything. We were what some landlords would call the ideal attendants This is my review on the apartment complex. First off before signing any papers, the management and staff seem super friendly and eager to help you with whatever you need help with. After signing the lease things become a bit different and you can see through the fake happiness that the management team does. The maintenance people are very friendly but sadly the don’t know how to fix common issue, When we first moved in there was black mold around the window in the master bedroom that wasnt there initially during the walk through, then I noticed screws that were 2 inches long holding the toilet paper holder on to the counter which was going all the way through the counter with about 1 inch left to stab any child or person putting their hand in there. Then I also noticed the apart laundry room inside the unit was completely gross and dirty in the washer and dryer. As our year progressed anytime we spoke to management we would get a passive aggressive attitude, if you have any concerns or issues other then maintenance they will take their sweet time getting it taken care of. Expect to have a parking spot incredibly far away from your actual apartment which you have to pay for, you’d think at least one would be included in the price (it’s not). The landscape is hardly taken care of, the animal waste bags are never restocked, the gate that’s supposed to keep people out are usually broken, and there is not real protection there (even though they have a security guard that drives through once a night). Upon move out we cleaned our apartment better then when we moved in and repaired and places were we hung décor, they still took almost all of our deposit claiming false statements and taking normal wear and tear (which they are responsible for) out of our deposit. We cleaned the carpet 4 times after move out fixed the décor holes in the walls and we also made sure everything was perfect and they still charged us a mandatory carpet cleaning for $ 170, and charged us repeatedly for utilities even though we weren’t living there anymore, not to mention the charged us an early vacate fee for having the walk through on the date they chose which was one day before our actual end of lease date. THEY CHOSE THE DATE for the walk through and still charged us because they were closed on sunday and they wanted to do the walk through on sat and yet its our fault somehow. Please new renters beware this complex will pretend to help you and in the end you will get screwed over like we did. Please be cautious moving in here. I hope this helps someone.

This is the second time we have lived in this complex and both times it was enjoyable. The ladies in the office are great! And when I say great I mean they truly care. They get to know you and are ready and willing to help in every situation. The maintenance team is just as great they have always fixed any issue we have had either same day or at most the following work day.
The apartment itself is your typical apartment basic appliances, full-​size washer dryer. Cabinets are a bit out dated but all functioning. The decks are very spacious and our apartment in particular had a fantastic view of the lake. The rooms are not huge but they fit a queen in the spair room and king in master. I loved having the gas fireplace it helped keeping our power bill down.
The cons:
The on site parking can get tight and you only are allowed one assigned parking spot. However the office is very good at working with you for specific situations.
The gym at the club house is well less than satisfactory. Very little and not much for equipment.
Overall if those are the only cons I’d say it’s a great place to live. Great location and very friendly neighborhood.

Living here was such a great experience! The apartments were spacious and had plenty of space for storage. The office and maintenance team were always willing to help! Guest parking could be a little sticky sometimes, however I would rather have less parking for guests and more for residents. Being within walking distance to Martha Lake park made it easy to keep my dogs happy during my time here.

I really love living at Heritage Ridge. The team goes above and beyond each time I need something relating to maintenance. We are kept informed by emails about things going on around the community and picking up packages is a breeze with their notification system. Thanks team for keeping Heritage Ridge a fun place to live.

I lived at Heritage Ridge for a year and a half and I was blown away by the customer service! Robin, Anna, Andy, and James did a wonderful job of taking care of issues and making the resident feel valued and very satisfied! Thank you to the Heritage Ridge team for all that you do! Because of my experience I will only live with Equity Residential. Great job!

I do not recommend moving here!
The good:
The quality of the apartment is good. Noise pollution between apartments is not perfect, but better than other places
The pool is large and clean and the spa is open year round
The bad:
PARKING! Each unit gets one spot only and it may not even be a covered spot. There is close to 0 guest parking, and if you have more than two cars, forget about it. Unless you want to pay $ 115 a month for a tiny garage. They get tow happy as well. If you like to have friends over, this is not a place for you.
Maintenance: cross your fingers that you experience a maintenance emergency during business hours only. There was a major flood (150 gallons of water!) of course on the third floor on a Sunday afternoon. It took maintenance over 3 hours to respond, and only because the assistant leasing agent happened to be hanging out with a buddy in a nearby apartment and had the maintenance guy’s cell number.
Upon moving out be ready to pay more than what you did getting in. They go out of their way to nickle and dime you for anything wrong with the apartment, and if they can’t find anything then they charge you for a general «cleaning fee» which they refuse to disclose what they cleaned. We lived here for one year, and they charged us for paint, and paint labor, even though in the lease it clearly states, we are not responsible for normal wear and tear.
Pets: If you have cats or dogs, you have to pay a monthly pet rent, and the initial deposit is $ 600 per pet. Don’t even think about getting any of that money back.
The management: I wish I could say they were good or bad, but since we had 3 different managers in one year, it’s hard to get to know any of the staff with such a high turnaround.
In summary, do not move here!

NO ONE has contacted us to discuss or resolve these issues. Unfortunately this siituation remains unchanged — the late charges have not been addressed, the towing fee was never reimbursed, and, contrary to the Management’s post below, NO ONE bothered to call and offer any kind of explanation to my husband after promising to do so. Further, «Jennifer» has never met or spoken to me – my husband set up the lease and moved in while I was deployed to New Jersey. So stating that you and I have discussed these issues just further reinforces the unreliable and unprofessional standards here at Heritage Ridge.

I lived in this complex for 2 years and loved it. I was sad to give up my one bedroom. The office staff was always so friendly and welcoming. I knew I could go to them for anything. Even when they turned over and got new employees I was never disappointed in the service. The maintenance staff was great, too. They always said «Hi» when they saw me and were efficient and timely with their responses to my requests. I only had to make 2 the entire time I lived there which was awesome! I loved that I had a covered parking spot there and a fireplace in my apartment. It had plenty of storage including a full pantry and a linen closet. It was also great that they were gated with a keypad entry since I was a single woman living alone. It made me feel safe. The location was great too. Close to groceries and other shopping and right around the corner (within walking distance) from my yoga studio. It’s also close to the freeway and the mall. Easy commutes! It was close to a main road but still quiet. When I moved I stuck with Equity Residential and just changed locations because I loved their customer service and the way they handle the business side of things. I would recommend this complex to anyone looking to move to Mill Creek/​Lynnwood.

This last year our neighbor experience has been absolutely terrible. The parking is pretty bad. I know people always say that, but not only is there not a lot of it, the spots are VERY small. I did not realize how small until we were looking for a new place to move. We ended up having to pay for an assigned spot AND a garage just to keep our nice, new vehicles safe. Before we did this I had a problem with getting door dings over the weekends. I ended up with 4 really bad door dings and someone keyed the other side of my car.
The employees in the office and grounds people have always been great. I say employees because they are in no way managers, they have basically no say in anything. Not exactly an ONLY heritage ridge thing, their management company has stripped everything from the local levels. We have been with Equity residential for 5 years now and had GREAT experiences until here. They changed everything to super corporate, and if you need something done that is above your office’s heads, you are basically out of luck. They are very rude, and do not work with anyone on anything. Example: After 5 years of being great tenants and always paying on time, they would not do ANYTHING at all for us when we were late once. We had to switch all our bills around to be able to change which checks rent came out of as they switched the day from the 5^th to the 3^rd. F****d move as a lot of people get paid on the 5^th.
The apartments themselves are physically not bad, the local office people have always been great, but the management company you will have to deal with is not worth it.

Ok — I’ve noticed some negative reviews (on other websites) for Heritage Ridge while I was searching for a place, but I do not have any bad things to say about it.
–While I was moving in, there was a bit of a snafu involving a temporary leasing agent who provided incorrect info, but since then everything has been smooth sailing. The Manager’s name is Anca (spelling?) and the assistant is Heidi. Both are fantastic.
–The building maintenance replaced our dryer because it was about to go out — and it was more convenient to order a new one at that time, rather than waiting (which rocks!). I asked for help with my refrigerator and had a maintenance guy knocking at my door at his scheduled appointment time the next morning!
–Parking can be a bit tricky — but this is a standard «problem» in any apartment complex. If I had to compare it to other places I’ve lived, parking is a LOT better here. This is a gated community so … it looks more secure. I haven’t been victimized by crime, but I also make sure to take all items out of my vehicles…
– The layout of my 2 bedroom /​2 bath appt is FANTASTIC! I love it! I even have a 6ft x 7ft laundry room in my appt! The kitchen has PLENTY of cupboards and a small pantry. I also love that the kitchen is VERY OPEN and has a TON of light. I love the fireplace (gas) and that it has a nook above the fireplace that you can put you big screen TV, stereo, etc. It’s all great because now you don’t have to worry about any pesky furniture to hold the stereo, or worry about mounting the TV to the wall.
In short — I really do enjoy living here… and I think that says a lot because I’ve lived in a variety of places (from luxury apartments in the belltown area of Seattle, to some dumps in Everett!). I rate my experience here as a 9 out of 10 so far.
