This place is amazing! The food was delicious! I had the shrimp and mushroom risotto. My husband had the elk burger. My son had the childrens chicken strips with mac and cheese. Its an awesome relaxed environment and the staff is super friendly too. Id highly recommend this place. Im not easily impressed and I was when I came here.

This place is great! My friend and I came here after a long day of hiking and were pleasantly surprised by the relaxed and quiet environment and the food. We shared the salmon cake, buffalo shepherd’s pie, elk burger and pear tart. Everything was delicious, especially the salmon cake and the burger. I would highly recommend this place for those traveling traveling through RMNP or in the Boulder area.

Ended up hitting this place post hiking RMNP; every single thing we ate was just fresh and amazing. The fries tasted like they were pulled from the ground this morning. They have tank 7 on tap! We had the burger and the pork belly and both were just made to perfection. Side note: if you would like to see pintrest in real life, this is the place!

Amazing, creative, frequently changing menu. Staff is wonderful, and you immediately feel like a regular eating or drinking here. Love the small plates. Two are enough, but so much variety you’ll need to explore and get a third.

Great little café and bar in Lyons. Creative food and drink menu. I enjoyed the Mufaletta sliders and bacon date cake. I was a little dubious of the cake, but it turned out to be a wonderful surprise!
Give it a try. It is worth the drive up from Boulder and then ther is all that music to enjoy around town.

Great food and drinks. Consistently good every time I eat here. I live in Lyons and this is my favorite restaurant in town.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled on this place in Lyons. The drinks were mixed by bartenders that understand how to make a drink, the farm to table food was delicious, the service excellent and there happened to be an incredible band playing (Wellington) while we were there.
Having traveled all over — this place can hang with the best of them.

This is a real gem. The food is prepared with care from local ingredients and artfully presented. (I’ve never seen such beautiful color combinations on the plate.) The cocktails are creative and carefully crafted. But what really makes this place special is the warm and caring service and upbeat vibe. These folks are proud of their food and happy to serve it — rightly so! Definitely worth the drive from Boulder.

«LOCAL» is one of the BEST all natural, organic, fresh food restaurants in Colorado. The food is DELICIOUS, locally sourced, reasonably priced, artistically presented and caters to vegan, gluten free, etc. The ambiance is charming and welcoming with great energy. The service was very friendly, professional and accommodating. I wish it were in my home town.” Local” is my favorite all time restaurant and will be a sure stop every time I’m in Lyons or passing through to get to Rocky Mt. Park. I encourage you to try it. I think you’ll not only like it but will find yourself telling your friends all about it.

Great place. We stumbled upon this place while in Lyons for a wedding. Boy were we lucky. It’s a cute (my fiancée’s word) space that’s set up primarily like a bar with a comfort food small plate menu leaning toward local goods – thus the name. Good selection of wine and beer, though if your preferences lean toward cheap name brand wine and Bud Light you’ll be hard pressed to find them here. Hey, live a little, ok? The small plates we tried were phenomenal. We had the asparagus with bacon, parmesan, and a soft boiled egg on top, as well as the mac and cheese. Both fantastic and hearty.
The star of the show, however, was the tender and smoky short rib. Perhaps the best short rib I’ve ever had – and I conservatively estimate I’ve eaten roughly the equivalent of an entire herd of cattle in my lifetime. Ron Swanson might be the only person who’s eaten more beef than me, and he’s a fictional character. This short rib was great. So great that we tried to go back to the Local for lunch the day we left but it’s only open for dinner. I considered breaking in to the place to get at their supply of short rib, but that would just have been rude. Great, now I want more short rib. Thanks a lot, Unilocal.The things I do for you.
Service is very friendly, though a little slow. Perhaps it’s just laid back, man. Anyway, it didn’t bother us too much. I saw another reviewer complained that it was too pricey and not a good family spot. I’d agree with that evaluation on both counts but I don’t see them as a negative at all. It’s not a Chili’s, it’s a fancy but rustic little bar that has fancy but hearty little food. Our little guy was happy with the mac and cheese, but there’s not much more than that for a kid’s palate. But hey: adults, kids, fictional characters: Eat there. Drink there. And be sure to have the short rib.

This is like being in a friendly bar with over the top food. Their eat and drink creations are imaginative and the quality and presentation are spot on. Service is crisp and friendly even when the joint is hopp’n…Which is often.
Lastly the option for community table seating adds a great dynamic. Don’t change your jokes, change your audience.

A great reason to leave Boulder for a night out. Head to Lyons and eat here! Great staff, great food and adorable environment.

We’d have to go with the trend here and rate this new restaurant a five star! The small plate food items were each delicious and unusual. We loved their strawberry rhubarb sangria as well as an unusual desert cocktail they call «Chai Dessert». Yummy! Fun place to visit and excellent staff to make your time there even more enjoyable.

Love, love, love Katie and her new restaurant!!! You wont be disappointed, eat everything and drink too. I can’t wait to go back.

Had a great dinner here, complimented by great cocktails. The menu changes every week or two, and the food was awesome, local, and fresh. Recommended!
