The Peak to Peak Highway or Byway as some like to call it is a drop dead gorgeous drive through Colorado. The peak time to visit would be during early fall when the trees are changing and you are treated to mountains and valleys full of natural growing Aspens displaying yellow, orange and gold colors in mass quantities. There are plenty of places to pull over and enjoy the views and take pictures. On the peak weekends, there is usually one maybe two weekends that we can witness the Aspen colors, the traffic can be excessive with everyone else who wants to do the same thing as you(it’s not a secret). The drive is about three hours depending on the number of stops you would like to make and ends in Estes Park, a destination itself that adds its own flavor. This is a drive the whole family can enjoy with scenery, hiking options, small town excursions and much more. I would make this drive every year to watch the Aspens in full color changing mode, it’s truly breathtaking.

We decided to take this scenic drive instead of the highway so we could just stroll along and enjoy the scenery. I can say it didn’t disappoint! We stopped along the river where we took beautiful pictures and enjoyed our time in nature. It was pleasant and gave our young girls a great experience.
