Everyone knows Walmart, so nothing much to explain about what it is, as far as emphasizing competitively low prices and a basic section of national brand and Walmart branded products. This store is above the Walmart norm, in that has always been clean and well stocked, and usually neatly maintained. They do a pretty good job of keeping up with the amount of customers. This store can get busy, especially on weekends, but if your schedule allows it, you can find less customers(and also less cashiers) in the«off» hours as this place is open 24⁄7. Come later at night, or early morning on a weekday and the place can be nearly empty. The East end(by Groceries) has a mega shelf checkout with about 10 self checkout kiosks and it moves pretty quick. The self check-out on the other side(west, by Pharmacy and housewares) has four kiosks and is sometimes shut down. Not the best selection if you are grocery shopping for vegetables, but for most other items they’ll have it most likely. I have found a slightly better selection and better prices than the Target«grocery.» If you buying exactly the same brand name item here and comparing it to Wegmans or Tops it will almost always be priced lower here. They have fairly large sections of frozen foods, dairy products, meats and refrigerated beers, which probably appeals to many folks. Most of the time, they do a good job of keeping the parking lots cleared and the carts picked up.

This Walmart has been upgraded via Unilocal to a «Supercenter.» I don’t see many changes to the store, perhaps this is just a re-classification? Outside of the name change, this store continues to be one of my favorites in the area. While WalMart is the 300 pound gorilla of retail and is not well-liked in many respects, I do find things there that are not available elsewhere. We’re a big fan of their Ciabatta rolls & it looks like the rest of Wayne(& Monroe) county have discovered them as well, since they are seldom in stock. While I strive to keep my purchases local & buy American products, it is important to remember that a store like WalMart *does* employ a lot of people. And, at least at this WalMart, they appear to be happy employees.
