Metropolis Curry & Kabob

Found this place thanks to Unilocal since we are not from Macon (down for a comic/​gaming convention). And let me tell you… WOW! My whole party of 4 were taking bites and moaning in delight. The korma was amazing. I had a sampler appetizer with this chicken and a yogurt based sauce that was to die for. Go… eat, be merry!

Spending the night in Macon on business, decided to try this as it is close to my hotel and it’s been a while since I’ve had Indian. I’m kind of picky, I like mild Lamb korma, which seems to be hard to find in Atlanta. My husband likes hot and spicy curry. What a great find, both dishes are perfect. Best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. If I’m back in Macon I will come here again and suggest others do too. Awesome great and friendly service too. How refreshing.

Metropolis has been a welcoming environment for years. The owner and staff are incredibly kind — so much so that the owner once chased down my car to deliver sunglasses that I left in a booth. As for the food, it is flavorful and consistent. This is a local go-​to restaurant when you have a hankering for something delicious, unique, and enjoyable. I’ve not had a disappointing meal here in the years that I’ve been going and I don’t expect you will either.

Great Indian and Greek food available. The owner (at least I’m assuming it was the owner) was very nice and personable. Girlfriend got a salad with Greek grilled chicken and it was quite a large salad and the chicken was fantastic. My cheese paneer was on point. If I lived in Macon I would go back without hesitation.

The lunch buffet was really good, especially for the price 7.99. Igot to have everything I wanted to eat, probably more than I should have. The only problem now is I am so full. The owner was very friendly, good service

I am in Macon once a week for business, and was nervous about trying Indian in Macon. …but rest assured, this place was very good.
I’m an Indian food guru… so to speak, from Atlanta and have tried probably 20 – 30 Indian restaurants around town, and for me to have stepped into «curry & kebob»…yeah, was a big deal.
BUT, it was tasty and the owner was so sweet!
I’ll go again. :)

Happened in by chance. What a wonderful, moderately priced restaurant. Got Greek salad and spinach pie ($ 8.99). Naan (bread stuffed with cashew, raisin, and coconut). My husband got chicken and beef shish kabob. I have to say chicken was way better. So glad we stopped. Also had just finished reading «Secret Daughter». A wonderful novel that includes all the dishes on the menu.

Food is great. Service is excellent. I enjoy coming to this restaurant, I always ask the server for a suggestion, I always try something new every time I cone here. So far everything that was suggested to me was really good. The older gentleman, I think he’s the owner. He came to talk to us and explain how our food was made, I thought that was very nice of him.

Took out a girlfriend’s relative for a birthday last week. Caught the end of the lunch buffet. Food was sketchy, place smelled like rancid hookah and vape. Girlfriend threw up about 10 minutes after we left. They had this deep fried cheeseball dish that clearly wasn’t deep fried cheeseball and was some sort of pancake tasting thing oozing with a sweet syrupy sauce. This place needs Robert Irvine badly…

Kind of a really great score in Macon Ga. I mean SUPER friendly, great food, great ambience, great service, great price, hookah, beer & wine. They filled my Nalgene with ice water and a splash of lemonade just to give it extra special flavor. Tons of delicious food. I had the feta naan and and red dal my hubby had The gyro with fries and Greek salad. I highly recommend this place if u are dying for something Authentic!

Both Greek & Indian are Good. The owner used to run an Indian restaurant that I regularly visited, so the Indian side of the house is delicious. The Greek side? Well, that was quite a delicious surprise! I’m really glad to see that they can do two cuisines well.

We like the lunch buffet, not too many choices but pretty yummy! Owners are very friendly! Occasionally I order the goat curry, yum!

This was my first Indian food experience and I am a big fan. The waiter was very helpful and made excellent recommendations.
Not the fanciest place in the world, but the food and service were exceptional. I plan on coming back soon when travelling through the Macon area.

This is one of the places that you love or hate. I can’t say I will ever be back, I tried the buffet and was very confused. More greek food than anything. They do make some awesome breads tho. The main indian dishes on the buffet had 98% sauce and a little meat/​veggies. Grab a beer and order ever flavor of bread

So, the décor leaves something to be desired; it clearly used to be a Mexican restaurant. But, the food totally makes up for that. First, as a vegetarian I love Indian and Greek food for the all the options they provide! My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place on a road trip and went in for lunch. It was totally empty, but I think it’s a great place! The owner/​waiter was so helpful about recommending dishes he thought we’d enjoy based on our likes. The food was delish, and you get a bunch for a reasonable price! Now, that I moved to the this area, I’ll definitely be going back.

Very tasty and good food – we highly recommend it. Restrooms were clean and nice, We have been to India before and this really reminded us of being back there again. The cheese nan bread was outstanding and you can have the spices at any level that you ask for. Good food, great service, very personable waiter/​chef – we will definitely stop here again on our way through Macon.

I have a love of all the Indian restaurants in town. Each is unique. Metropolis does not disappoint with its friendly staff, great food, and bar. I would recommend (if you like it spicy) for you to ask for your meal to be Indian hot or extra spicy. They have a great buffet too, but you need to order from the menu if you want it really spicy.

Hey man, this place was pretty solid. The quality/​cost ratio puts it closer to 4.5. Had me a $ 3 beer, albeit not a 16 oz, maybe 12. I was there for lunch and did not get the buffet mainly because I was on a time crunch.
Got the shrimp pakoras which were good. Don’t expect a crunchy tempura or similar typical fried shrimp. These were a little more on the bready end of fried but they were still good. A generous portion as well. Medium-​sized shrimp.
In addition, I got the lamb karahi. A couple of the lamb pieces were the slightest bit gamey but otherwise, this was a tasty dish. Nice seasoned stew to warm the soul. There weren’t too many fatty pieces and the meat was tender. It was great over the rice and eventually I just started using the garlic naan to scoop up the remainder. I asked for their hottest sauce and the dude brought me out some habanero based sauce which was a nice addition. If you love hot sauce, it actually wasn’t as hot as expected but still packed a decent punch.
The service was fine. The food was timely – not so quick that you feel everything is pre-​made and not overly long on the wait. Will definitely go back when in town again.

I really enjoy eating g here. I have yet to order a dish that hasn’t been delicious. The mango drive k is divine as is the naan.
