I’ve been there twice, both times was bad service. The last time we waited over an hour for our food and it was cold when we got it. The Cajun is essentially the same thing you would get at a chain. I was very disappointed twice, because I really like Cajun food, but quite frankly I would rather have Popeyes than this place.

This was our first time at Parrish on Cherry. We were looking for a brunch spot and this was one of the only ones that popped up in our Google search. My husband ordered the Bayou burger with bacon and cheese! He is still singing it’s praises! I ordered the classic eggs benedict. Not the best I ever had but it was good enough that I would order it again. We ended with the beignets that were served with chocolate sauce and strawberry sauce. Fried dough=always delicious. Adam was fantastic and explained how everything worked with the bloody mary bar and even suggested my husband spend a few dollara extra to get an different vodka since he had never had a bloody mary before. LADIES– bottomless mimosas!!! My mimosa was served in a massive wine glass. Loved the DJ! Perfect for us but we were joking at the table that my older mother wouldn’t like this place because the music was too loud. If your looking to branch out to all ages then you may want to think about the volume and have a variety of music. Again, great for us but the older crowd may not fancy it so much

These people are amazing. Craft beer on tap, Creole inspired southern dishes to eat. Live band. Love it.

This is a review on the Parish’s Brunch. I have to say I was sorely disappointed by their eggs benedict. Runny poached eggs drenched in hollandaise sauce are what make eggs benedict great. Not only was the egg too cooked and not runny, but they totally skimped on the hollandaise sauce. Such a shame. We didn’t want to send our plates back either, because it had taken so long for them to arrive at our table in the first place… the service was rather slow. I did try my friend’s fried grits breakfast sandwich, however, which was FANTASTIC – flavorful, fried, oozy cream cheese grits on a brioche bun. SO good. Another one of their highlights is the bloody mary bar, where you can customize your own bloody mary with various sauces and toppings, such as tabasco sauce, worcestershire sauce, celery, olives, and so on. Overall, I have some mixed emotions about the Parish’s brunch(at least the food and the service), but I would definitely come back for the bloody mary bar or bottomless mimosas!

I have to give this 4 stars because the day I went I wasn’t able to have anything from the bar(because of work).FORCING me to schedule a return visit very soon. The brunch menu looked wonderful and half of our party ordered from it and were pleased. The shrimp and grits were on the lunch menu… and I thought they were well done. Why will I go back??? BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS and BLOODYMARYBAR. Hello heaven in downtown Macon… I’ve been patiently waiting for you. I’ll update my review on my next visit.

Dinner with Co-Workers last night had us in downtown walking around after the wait at Rookery was over an hour. Thankfully we stumbled upon this little gem where we were seated immediately. The décor of the restaurant is pretty cool for the area, exposed brick, some raw iron, and a lot of French/New Orleans art. I will echo the majority of posts on here that the food was delicious. We had the gator bites and empenadas for apps and I highly recommend both. Our table collectively ordered a burger, a shrimp po-boy, the grits, and jambalaya. Everyone was extremely satisfied with their meal. Other reviews talk at length about the delicious po-boys and the amazing grits but I want to take a moment and review the Bayou Burger. My associate had it prepared with«Macon Bacon» and«Slow and Easy». I had no idea what these things meant but when the burger arrived I could hardly question his decision. The Macon Bacon is caramelized and crispy(so delicious you can get an appetizer of just bacon) and Slow and Easy means you get a special house dressing with veggies topping the burger. If Creole/Cajun isn’t your cup-o-tea then this burger will definitely fit the bill. I score this down 1 star for the service. Our server was very nice but when we asked for a drink menu or a beer list he said he didn’t know and just pointed to the bar and said that’s what we have. Aside from that our specific server was fine. I do want to point out that the servers would routinely visit with the bar, hang out with their friends, and even order drinks between helping their tables. I get that this is a small down restaurant late on a Wednesday night but there should be a level of professionalism here where employees don’t drink on the job. That’s a recipe for disaster.

I want to like this place but have had such inconsistent service every time I’ve been. The bartender, Trent, is wonderful. However, the same can’t be said for the rest of the staff. On our last visit the hostess quoted us a 10 minute wait time and then after 30 minutes we still weren’t sat we asked how long it would be before we got sat and got answered with«I don’t know». We enjoyed the bartender so much though that we decided to order from him and sit at a table near the bar. Food was good. My breakfast sandwich was missing the bacon but after the hassle of seating I didn’t want to have to send food back too. I’d come back, but I’d definitely only sit at the bar.

If you like bland food then this place is for you. Nothing we ordered had any flavor, not even the Red Beans and Rice. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Normally I would deduct a star for having to get up to ask for a drink refill, but the food was so delicious that I decided to let it slide. I lived on the Gulf Coast for five years, so I consider myself qualified to effectively judge Cajun food. Our appetizers, the savory gumbo, kept us quiet except for the occasional ooos and aaahs and exclamations of how good(and authentic) it tasted. My friend, who also lived on the Gulf Coast, loved her bbq shrimp! She described the sauce as «delectable»! The chicken on my Po’ Boy was crispy and the bread fresh. The waiter even brought extra sauce in which I used to dip the chicken«overflow» pieces. The place was reasonably clean, the music a bit too loud, but the food was oh so good. We look forward to sharing this find with our husbands, whom were left home watching football today. ;) Note(just in case the owner reads this): One thing you need on the menu is a roast beef po’ boy– pressed and dressed!

One of my new favorite places, the food was delicious I recommend the cajun shrimp and crawfish pasta, the service was excellent. They also have lunch portions, which was a pleasant surprise. My awesome lunch was less than $ 10

For the day after Christmas, it was pretty quiet in Parish. But I was so glad we had the joint to ourselves! Location: Downtown Macon area where parking can be an issue, but I was able to find a spot right in front of the place. Service: From the moment we walked in, great service. Our waiter was Adam and he really hooked us up. His drink suggestions were awesome and he did a great job making sure our party of 3 was taken care of. The bartender was also just as nice! Food: Effin yum!!! The Blue Bayou was the cocktail we all selected and it was made quick and tasted so good. For appetizers, we selected the Macon bacon, Gator bites and the Seafood dip. I wanna live in the dip! But the other ones were tasty too. For the dinner, the dishes were Shrimp and Grits, Seafood pasta and the Shrimp Étouffée. Good good good!!! To finish off being a fatty, we all took home beignets. Great new restaurant that I’ll definitely be back for!

We’ve dined there three times but sadly, each time, they were out of beignets. Was really looking forward to them. :(

Not only was my service amazing, but this place taste like home for me. The gumbo with crawfish reminded me of my grandmother’s. The shrimp and grits was AMAZING! Exactly what shrimp and grits should taste like. With real grits filled with cheese and the best shrimp in the world(from the gulf coast my waitress informed me) and topped with the holy trinity of vegetables and andouille sausage. My waitress also told me that the po’boys were made with French bread! The way a true po’boy should be made. The only disappointment is the beignets… they were too small, chewy, took to long to get, and obviously made of frozen dough. So my final opinion… buy everything except for the desert.

First time visiting today and the food was delicious! Fried shrimp po’boy with grits for me(warm and filling for the fall weather) and a grilled shrimp po’boy with fries for him. Server was also great along with the unique décor.

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon(my mother and I were the first people there, in fact). Our server was not good, but she was nice. We both ordered cups of gumbo(which is as great), she brought us two bowls. When we told her we ordered cups, she apologized but did not correct her mistake on the bill. The food was good, but a little overpriced. Would go back and order appetizers(the fried green tomatoes were fantasitc).

This is a good addition to macon. It was hot as helllllllll in the restaurant, the food was ok. I had a po boy and the shrimp was tasty but very very dry sandwich. It also came with some fancy fries that were good. The waitress was almost to talkative.-She told us all about her plan to move to holland and how she like to smoke. She almost ate dinner with us she was at the table so much. Can’t say I would rush back

It’s gonna be an awesome addition to the Macon restaurant scene… They were handing out samples yesterday afternoon and the food is flavorful and well prepared. I didn’t get to taste as much as I wanted but really enjoyed what I did! The staff is kind and anxious to get to work! Be kind and they get started as it’s a new business but I hope to see them around Macon for a long time to come
