The food was decent. I ordered the tofu spring rolls and they were ok although bland without the duping sauce. The chicken phở was good. I actually only received 1 jalapeño on my extras plate… only 1. And I couldn’t even ask for more because no one ever came back to my table to see how anything was. This is my first time coming here and I didn’t know that you walk to the counter to pay so I was sitting and waiting for someone to give me my check for a long while, and that was with my plates pushed aside and everything. Also, this is a pet peeve of mine but they used my table as a holder for trays of food for other tables… so just imagine you are sitting at your table and a man approaches your table with a tray of food. Knowing that you are beyond done with your meal you are puzzled as to why he is coming towards you. He presided to put the tray of food on my table then walk one dish to the table in front of me, comes back to the table for the other dish still on your table and takes that one to the table behind you. I was beyond completely baffled. I guess fresh food is better then him bringing people’s dirty dishes to my table but still. I don’t know if I will be back as of right now.

I am a frequent eater at this restaurant. It is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Middle GA. For appetizers, I ordered the Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls and the main course I ordered Beef Phở. What I like about the Spring Rolls they serve here is that they give you 4 rolls instead of 2 rolls like other Vietnamese Restaurants. The Spring Rolls came with the peanut butter sauce they used and I’m glad they did not put any basil or cilantro in the rolls because I do not like them. I serving size I ordered for the Beef Phở was large and the price and portion was fair for it. It was hot and delicious. I will come back.

I went here based on Unilocal reviews while in town and was very pleased. I ordered to-go and would recommend asking for an extra empty container if you do not have a large bowl for this(I am staying in a hotel) because I had to pour out some of the juice to add the noodles, meat, and veggies. It was fantastic though. I ordered the Phở with eye round steak but asked them to substitute in the spicy beef broth. It was amazing and a ton of food! I also ordered shrimp egg rolls and pork egg rolls but I am too full to eat them so I will have them for a snack later. THANKS!!!

An ethnic destination amongst the fast food, chain, and typical southern wannabes. Great Phở, good spring rolls(you’ll dig the bbq fusion), and good tea. And did I mention inexpensive? Definitely a great alternative to clogging your arteries with more«soul food».

Love this place. This is a great casual dining spot that’s perfect for people who either love Vietnamese food or are simply adventurous eaters. The absolute best thing on the menu are their fresh shrimp rolls, which are a nice change from fried appetizers. When it comes to entrees, my favorite is the lemongrass beef bowl, which is stir fried beef served with noodles and salad. In general I’ve loved almost everything I’ve gotten there and since it’s family run and everything is fresh made, they are really good about doing things to your tastes. The only thing I tried there I didn’t like was the crispy fried noodle dish(too oily/heavy for me), but I’m still giving them five stars because a lot of people I know who eat there say it’s their favorite dish. I also don’t get the reviewer who said they have a limited menu because their menu is like 10 pages long and literally has hundreds of choices. Plus, if you ask them for something special, they’re really good about making it if they can. If you’re in Macon and haven’t tried this place yet you really should.

I have lived in Macon for a while and never knew about this place. It is off Riverside near exit 167⁄169 and is located in a random shopping center. As far as Asian food in Macon goes, it is the best. As far as chicken fried rice dishes I have tried from all over the nation, Phở Saigon is legitimately my favorite. I was surprised to find such a hidden gem so late into my life in Mac-town, but I now feel complete. The price is right and so is the service. I am ecstatic to find out about this place and have been recommending it to everyone I meet. Cannot wait until I have a chance to visit again and try their other food options!

Phở is okay for being in the middle of Georgia. The place is old and grunge and the workers spoke very little english. The prices are bit high compare to California prices and the phở lacks the spices of Phở with the beef of very poor quality and taste. I was disappointed on the taste of the food and my friends who are Vietnamese ate with me and they also said it lacked spices and flavor.

If you like the lowest quality of meat available in a sketchy, run down place next to a liquor store, then I guess this excuse for a restaurant is for you. This has got to be the most ghetto, least appetizing, worst service phở place I’ve been to in my life. We waited 50 minutes for our order to come out while kids, apparently who knew the owners or something, ran around the restaurant. It seems they have taken their artistic talents to the walls as well, with kids sharpie drawing all over the place. The employees’ personal items were left out all over the place, including half filled coffee cups on the ground? Overall, avoid this place if you can.

I went on a road trip on weekend with a college girl friend. We went to visit her sister in Macon with our daughters. When arriving in Macon, she wanted to eat Vietnamese so I Unilocal and found Phở Saigon. My friend’s nephews never had Vietnamese so they were excited to try. One of my childhood friend told me that Phở Saigon has the best phở broth she’s ever had so I was excited to try their food(I don’t eat phở). For appetizers, got spring(summer) rolls & calamari. The presentation for the spring rolls was great! The calamari had great flavors and can tell it was fresh and just made. I got the grill chicken bun. It was really good. I had so much food and couldn’t finish all the chicken. Daughter got the bbq pork banh mi. I am glad that my friend’s nephews loved their dishes. They got phở and really enjoyed it. The staff is friendly and attentive. They never rushed us. When we were ready to go, we went to cashier to pay. Definitely coming back when in Macon.

The phở is so savory and delicious. Yummy egg rolls and entrees too. Family friendly. We love this place!

I am very disappointed given the raving reviews, I guess I need to take into consideration that this restaurant is not catered to the Vietnamese population. Very limited selection as far as the menu is concerned, and don’t expect much inside the spring rolls or eggrolls. Oh, and it’s served in halves with two open ends which provides toppings for your lap, since it’s not wrapped very well. On the other hand, nice staff, great interior, and cheap food prices.

This is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant around I go to all of them. I love the phở they don’t skimp on the meat. I also had the lemon grass chicken I was hungry lol. We been here like 8 times and it seems to be better every time not sure how that possible maybe I am just missing it in between. I rate it higher then most of the Vietnamese places I have been to. I will keep coming back it’s a clean older place and nice.

Hands down one of the top three casual places to eat in Macon. I have been coming here for YEARS. Family owned restaurant that moved from a shady location off Mercer Univ Dr… I stop by here every time I visit Macon. Not sure where all these two and three star reviews are coming from… Since this is Macon, GA please don’t come here straight from Vietnam and expect exact replication of your mommas Phở. This family owned restaurant needed to manipulate the Vietnamese cuisine to mesh with Macon society… Does it work? Yes! Is their food amazing? YES! The dishes here are all made fresh to order. It’s too hot to have phở in the summer so order the claypot or rice. DONOTORDERTHEPHOTO-GO, YOUAREDUMBIFYOUDO. If you want to order something for carry out I’d suggest fried rice, claypot, or the crispy noodle dish. My dish suggestions are as follows(favorites on top): App: #1 Fried egg roll, DELISH(Mix the sweet dipping sauce with sriracha) Entrée: #36 Wonton Noodles Soup — Most Amazing wontons you’ll ever have — sub egg noodles for rice noodles #65 or #66 — Seafood or Special(Combination) Claypot — If you are in the mood for rice, protein, and a healthy portion of veggies then this is your obvious choice. This dish comes out piping hot in a claypot. I love the crispy rice on the bottom of the pot, mmmmmmmmmmm #52 or #53 — Seafood or Combination Fried Rice — Best fried rice you will ever have. They put some sort of addictive seasoning in there ;) #24 Bun Bo Hue — Lots of meat, very spicy, and will get your sinuses running. great for hangovers and winter time. #40 Mi Xao Gion Thap Cam — chicken, beef, and seafood served over a bed crispy noodles and secret sauce. The bubble tea is good if that’s your thing. I also recommend their Iced Coffee and Lemonade(ask them to go light on the ice if you order either of these two). There was one summer I used to stop by for their lemonade almost every other day.

Thankful for this place in Macon! If you love spicy, get #24 Phở and if you wanna try stir fry try #38! Both are very yummy! They can be somewhat slow at times, don’t except to grab a quick bite. I like to order it to-go so I don’t have to wait too long.

Pretty good vegetarian stir fry. Wish the tofu had a bit more seasoning and more vegetables would be just perfect. Pleasant staff but in my hurry to get you out of the restaurant :)

My review is for those looking for vegan options. I have sampled a few different vegan Phở places in SoCal but had not seen anything that served a vegan phở in the southeast… so I made a point to stop by here when driving through Macon. Now… the thing is. I really do not know how they make the phở broth… there is a language issue so I did not ask. But I do not think it is vegan at all. If someone has different information, let me know and I will amend this review. But it seemed to me like they use the same beef broth for the«vegetarian» phở and just toss in veggies and tofu instead of the meat. So that is a little disappointing. The place is fine. Typical slightly rundown strip mall place. Seemed clean enough. The chopsticks thing where they reuse them is a little odd, but no biggie. Service was fine except for getting the check to leave. I ended up having to go up and ask for the bill at the register. The other thing was communication about the order was a little difficult. I tried using the numbers on the menu and the server still pointed at pictures(and not the right ones). My kids had the chicken phở and they liked it a lot. If I was rating this only on the quality of the phở, I would go to 4 stars. Certainly all in all a better option than the crappy chains all around Macon.

I ate here today… I just really read the other reviews. My experience was DELICIOUS! I cannot say enough great things about what I ate. The broth of the PHO was something MAGICAL! I had to go down to Warner Robins today. Stopped here on the way back. My co-worker got the Combo Clay Pot… SCRUMPTIOUS! I got the #20. IT was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGOOD! Now, I am nobodies«phở expert». I am far from Vietnamese. But I tell you what. If I was a local, I would eat there WEEKLY! It was THAT good. The service starts of GREAT and then somewhere between the beginning and end… it gets dumb slow. But hey… we are all human and the prices are GREAT considering how much they give you. I am GREEDY! And I still had enough for leftovers. I say try it… and make your own opinion. IT was worth it.

Delicious delicious delicious. For South Georgia this is an amazing find. Even if in a big city this place would still stand out. Top five things to point out: 1. Authentic Vietnamese food. This place is family owned and run, which makes it all the more appealing to me. 2. Very reasonably priced. The spring rolls I posted a pic of were only $ 3. In the city these go for $ 5 – 6 easy. 3. Your plates come with a very healthy serving of noodles, meat and veggies. Good luck finishing it all. 4. Service was quick. Need I say more? Actually I do because this is after all a top five list. 5. House fish sauce is on each table. Some places don’t make the house fish sauce, and if they do they don’t offer it with each meal. The location may not look perfect. Aging décor and small restrooms, but really, does it matter? At this point in my excellent dining experience as long as the restrooms are functioning properly I’m fine. I also love that the owners obviously run the place on their own and as a family. In the back there was a kids bike. And you could see that one of the kiddos wrote on the wall with a permanent marker, yikes. But that’s character. That shows me its a family business. I try and stick to these kind. Way better than a chain restaurant. So if you live in Macon or just passing through, don’t settle on something like Applebee’s or Steak and Shakes or whatever that place is, do yourself a favor and go to this place. Your taste buds and tummy will thank you.

Listen, you really gotta know what to get here. They have quite an extensive menu with a whole bunch of stuff that looks and sounds awesome, and it usually is! BUT they are not as prepared for the extravagant menu items as much they are prepared to serve a delicious bowl of phở. I ALWAYS order the #10 with extra onion, cilantro, and meat. The round eye in the soup is amazing. Also– the BBQ Pork Springrolls are so much better. Always tasty. And the fried rice, strangely enough, is probably the best tasting fried rice I’ve ever had. The clay pots are really good as well as some of the vermicelli bowls in the menu. The key is to keep it simple here. The service is not all that great, but it is owned by one family– husband and wife, with two young daughters. They do the best they can and I only speak this way about them because I have been going since they were located in a small shopping center in a not-so-good neighborhood and their daughters were babies. It’s just important to remember that they do things a little differently and that patience is a virtue.

Hidden gem. Phở Saigon was a last-minute meal on a road trip through the southeast. After a quick search, we found this place located on a strip mall in Macon(what good mom-and-pop Asian restaurant isn’t in a strip mall?). Overall, it was a somewhat run-down strip mall and there was no one in the restaurant when we were there(mid-week 4pm) but all the reviews were excellent. As an asian, I have been somewhat skeptical on asian restaurants in the south but we were both pleasantly surprised. As a vegetarian, I ordered their vegetarian phở. There are a number of vegetarian options on their menu in a vegetarian section(the only other one I remember was a lemongrass tofu noodle bowl but there were 4 or 5 other choices). The vegetarian phở was excellent. The broth was nice and clear, incredibly good flavor and had that great umami flavor. I’m almost certain there was MSG in the broth but it wasn’t overpowering or unpleasant. All the vegetables were very fresh and the soft tofu was also very fresh. This was definitely one of the best veggie phở’s I’ve had and I’ve had some great ones in Seattle’s Little Saigon. My girlfriend had a meaty phở(I don’t remember which) but she loved it. Service: The service was slow but pleasant. I think this was an off-time and so service was slow. Restaurant: The tables were clean and each table had the standard utensils(chopsticks, soup spoons) and condiments. The booths and rest of the restaurant are definitely dated but this might be what you expect at a mom-and-pop restaurant. Overall, great food. I will maybe make an effort to stop by even if it’s out of the way.
