I took my better half here a few nights ago, and when I went to write this review, it was the first time I saw all the negative reviews and was quite surprised. Honestly, I think some folks are to fussy and impressed with themselves and have no appreciation for people who bust their ass for a living — such as waitresses and bartenders. If you’re nice to your waitress, she will work harder for you. If you act like you’re somebody special and you’re rude and unnecessarily demanding, they won’t kiss your ass,(same as anywhere). Our stop here started being greeted by the Hostess, Liz. Her demeanor, smile and those gorgeous dimples started everything off right. The service was excellent, the food was quite good and arrived as ordered and in a reasonable time. I saw other reviews complaining of the«fishy smell» of a seafood restaurant, and of a «fishy taste» — OFTHEIRFISH! I sat near a guy who had a fillet. Guess what? I smelled beef. My lady sat near a woman who had fish. Yup. We could smell one another’s food in a relatively small restaurant. People gotta get over themselves! Maybe we were there on a good day, but our whole experience, right thru coffee and dessert was very good. The one thing was that it seemed a little pricy, but it isn’t just the food one pays for in restaurants, it’s everything including how you’re treated and quality of service, so for me, it was worth it. We will be back!

What a delicious meal. We took our daughter out for her birthday dinner and we all ended up having the veal and lobster piccata. We finished off with crème brûlée and peanut butter pie. Our server Tanya was wonderful. Again delicious!

My wife and I consider ourselves somewhat foodies. So when we visited the Stone Crab for the first time we were mixed on how it would be. We arrived on March 11. A friday night with out revervations. We were treated well and had about a 20 min. Wait. Which we did in the bar the service was very good and the atmosphere was fun we decided to eat there. The food was excellent and the drinks were very tasty. The staff and manager I think his name was phil made the evening great. I will defiantly go again and also recomend my friends. Ed

Parking was bad, lot very small. First time there. Had reservations and stuck in a booth by very loud bar. Placed our order. About 15 minutes later waitress came out and told us the one entrée was no longer available. Was told two parties were going on upstairs. Now had to order something really didn’t want. Waitress did the best she could considering the circumstances. Food was just OK. Portions are small for the price you pay. Would not recommend for romantic evening.

It was our anniversary and we decided to give this place a try. The reception was nice and we waited a little bit for a table but understandable since it is New Years after all. We were seated and waited over 10 minutes for someone to even speak to us. About 5 minutes later our waitress finally showed up and she was a disaster, she took our drink order but then cleared off tables instead of going to get it. She then came back and took our appetizer order. Our apps came out and they were both very good. Then she says that she is working on getting our bread and salad together, then disappears again for a long period of time. Reappears without any food, our apps are finished and sitting in front of us. She finally comes out with the bread(which I would think this would have come before us eating our actual apps like in most other places) and pushed the app plates aside. She tells us we will take them in a second, walks to another table helps them and then just walks right by us. I ended up cleaning the plates and moving them to the other end of the table. The main course came out and my scallops and my husbands were way over cooked but who could we tell? It’s not like our waitress was even aware we were still sitting there. Finally she comes back and asks if we want dessert, no just the check please. She drops off the check and disappears for another 10 – 15 minutes. The other waiters and waitresses knew we were annoyed so the one girl came and took it back for us. We won’t be returning we should have stuck with our plans to eat at a place that we know has great service and food. Skip this place unless you like wasting time.

My mother made a reservation for five in November for Christmas Eve. We have actually been doing this for the last 5 years as our new«tradition». They called to confirm our reservation several days before and asked if they could put us in a booth with a chair on the end. We said no, as the restaurant is small and it would be uncomfortable for the person on the end. They said they would call back to see if they could accommodate us. They then called back and said they could. We arrived and we were seated. Five of us at a table for four. This is a «fine dining» eatery. We had a reservation. This was a bit sad. Then we were informed that it was a special menu. Not the regular for Christmas Eve. This was never disclosed when we made the reservation of in the subsequent calls about the seating. We then waited for anyone to bring water etc. which ended up being a common theme for the night. Our waitress. Who was amazing. Was also a ghost. They certainly did not have enough help. When the food arrived. It was cold. My salmon was overlooked. The drinks were slow. I’m not sure if they have new management or what the situation is. This used to be one of my favorite places. Next year it will be pizza and drinks at home. It would be a more enjoyable experience. It felt like dining at Red Robin. With a «fine dining» price tag.

So Disappointing! We always liked this place and the food was always great but something has happened to it. We haven’t been here for a while but we’re excited to be back there. Unfortunately, it was such a letdown. The service was okay, the drinks were acceptable but the food was sub-par. We both ordered different seafood combos because the Stoned Crab always had great seafood, but no more. Lobster, shrimp and scallops with no taste — such a disappointment. We were so ready for a great meal and SO disappointed. We were surprised when we got there that on a Friday night at prime time the tables were pretty empty but now we know why. Everyone else knew what we learned. Things have gone downhill at the Stoned Crab! We won’t be going back. There are many other places where you can get much better food for the same price or cheaper!

Called for reservations for 4 including a toddler. Arrived and told there was 15 minute wait that turned out to be half hour. There were empty tables but they wouldn’t seat. Did not want kitchen to back up.. This is phenomenally disrespectful and unprofessional. If they treat regulars this way, imagine how they will treat you.

we used to love this place. took my father there for a birthday dinner last night and we were really disappointed with three out of the four meals we ordered. the waitress was not attentive and didn’t seem to care at all. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. definitely not worth the money spent. disappointing.

Excellent service, good ambience, good quality food. bit expensive food. Overall it’s a good place for a date or office lunch/dinner.

Went with party of 7 and had a very interesting experience. The waitress was obviously tired and annoyed with either the kitchen or the patrons, not sure. It was uncomfortable. The food was good but several mistakes occurred. Try the Alaskan king crab leg app with brown butter and crab bisque. Veal was not tender, stay away. The seafood combo with risotto was good.

We had a great time here on Father’s Day. The shrimp scampi was wonderful and the seared scallops were done to perfection. The desserts were a wonderful way to cap off a great meal.

I used to really like this place. But tonight was disappointing. They used to have a lot of interesting dishes that slowly went away but I could always rely on the filet. Except tonight Waited too long Over done, I wanted medium rare Rice and veggies were good Red wine Cabernet was fair But to all restaurant owners, do NOT have someone cleaning with with cleansers while you are serving food. I don’t need lemon bleach smell with my meal.

From start to finish everything was great. The service was excellent. The crab Mac and cheese was perfect, burger was great, and crème brûlée the perfect finish. Will definitely be back to eat there again

I will probably go here again as in the past but I wish the OWNERS would read this. YOURBREADSUCKS!!! Get fresh warm bread please. It really SUCKS. You can have an excellent restaurant if you make fresh warm bread, and improve your Caesar salad dressing… its watery and has no flavor whatsoever. Think EVOO garlic, slight anchovy. Please… we need good restaurants in the valley and most fall short.

The food is good and the atmosphere is fancy enough for a nice night out. I don’t have anything bad to say but nothing really knocked my socks off. And for the price, there are other places in the Valley that are doing better and more interesting food.

Don’t bother. We were going to get a dinner then decided to just have a couple apps. Crab mac and cheese and Calamari. Calamari was extremely salty. Mac and Cheese okay. Since we decided to go with lighter fare we thought we would sit at the bar. The bartender sucked. From her attitude to her poor service and lack of tapping a beer skills. I ordered a Stella and girlfriend got a domestic. Once the foam settled I was left with 2/3’s of a beer. I have been here before and she is probably the worst bartender/server around. Apparently you have to pay your dues with this one, because she was very nice to everyone else in the place. Regardless this place has gone down hill and no wonder it’s up for sale.

Had dinner at the Stoned Crab last night… dinner was excellent and our server Cole was great and personable !! I had the salmon with lump crab meat and my husband had the NY strip. Both were delicious. It seems every time we go back it gets better !! The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious !!

Above average food. Good service. A bit spendy. Booths extremely uncomfortable to sit in. Clientele is not young by any means. Felt like a meat market for divorcees at the bar.

Perhaps the disappointment is skewing the grade. When we lived here before, I’d drive by and assume that the name, set up, and location made it one of those cool, «locals», places in the Macungie area. But, for whatever reason, I never bit. I bited, and was disappointed. There’s some adage about seafood and smelling the sea. Might apply here [yes, I had fantastic seafood in Chicago, and even great sushi in St Louis …]. I went with the Ahi, and my wife the Stoned Crab Scampi. She ate most of hers, but when I managed only two bites of mine, she agreed that hers also had a fishy taste. I’ve had ahi at many places. In addition to the funky fishy taste, this one was overcooked, especially when I asked for as lightly cooked as possible. Service was okay. They clearly meant well, and were very pleasant. Probably new to the biz. We sat in a booth, and the proximity to the bar made it very noisy. The appetizers were good. Stuffed mushrooms. Not too much, but good flavor. The cheese slice on the top was a nice idea. The seafood quesedilla [spelling] was also tasty — interesting pineapple chutney dressing.
