This library is small, smells of dust and dampness, has only a few tables and just one power outlet strip, but I guess it serves the small town of Madeira Beach just fine. There is a children’s section, computers to use, a section where used books are sold, books, DVDs and tapes, and what looks like a room for parents to play with their kids. The librarians are very helpful and most greet you as you enter. The couple of times I was there I saw the same homeless man sleeping in one of the reading chairs.

The PInellas County Library system is a good thing. One free membership allows you access to all of their libraries and services. This isn’t the largest or most fancy library in the County but it’s a nice quaint community library full of lovely people who are kind to your children and try their best to serve you. It’s a busy place full of people reading newspapers and using their computer center. I come here often to do homework and research with my kids. The librarians go out of their way to help us with our needs. I’ve had to order books and generally get them within 48 hours if they don’t have them on their premises. On Fridays, they have book fair where they sell gently used book. $ 20 got me 20 wonderful chidren’s books that I was able to, in turn, donate to my daughter’s elementary school! They also have nice programs and various classes. As a parent, I like the environment at this library for my kids especially. I think libraries are such a crucial part to their educational development. The good experiences they’ve had here will help them thrive at school. Kudos!!!
