Hooters

The food was disgusting. The chicken tastes undercooked. The staff was rude and the waitress rolled her eyes. The restaurant was hot and there was minimal air conditioning. If you want a good meal at johns pass, I’d recommend sculleys or bubba gumps! Stay away from hooters!

Decided to go to hooters on Memorial Day because a couple of us wanted oysters. Arrived at 410 and was seated by 430, waitress came over at 435 and we all asked for water. 5:00 comes and still no water! We go up to a manager and complain and he assigns a new waitress and we finally received our water at 5:15. 40 minutes waiting just for water?! 5:20 she takes our order, comes back out at 530 and says they are out of oysters!!! I order buffalo shrimp instead, food comes out at 6:00. Buffalo shrimp come plain without being tossed in sauce. Overall this is my worst experience ever at a hooters. Manager never apologized, he was busy flirting with the waitresses. On top of all the «waiting» we get charged 1 $ ever 30 minutes in the parking garage!

The view was nice. We ordered chicken wings. What a disappointment. Ten tiny wings. No drummettes. Side of blue cheese .89. Never again. We obviously got what was left in the fryer. So we went down to The Hut and got their wings. What a difference. Came with celery and blue cheese dressing. Nice size wings and drums. I will definitely take my money there.

I had an early dinner there last night, (May 2016)
The only thing that was quick was that we sat down promptly. Our waitress took our wing order, forgot the blue cheese side. Never came back to take our dinner order. A guy walks in from outside and says we need a waitress. I am offered a refill on my diet coke but my husband was not asked if he would like another mixed drink. The service was terrible! 5 waitress standing around inside, one who was wiping her glasses on the shirts that were for sale.
Go somewhere else !

It’s hooters, so I wasn’t expecting much, but the service was slow, our waitress didn’t even fill up our water. When she brought out my burger the sauces that I ordered weren’t even with it and the tator tots were cold and super undercooked. So we had to wait for both. My husband’s chicken strips came out with the wrong sauce on them but at that point it wasn’t even worth sending back and having to wait. We waited 10 minutes for our check at the end. The location is nice and that’s about it.

Terrible service. Pinky sized wings. Asked for manager and he never came and was no where to be found. THe waitress explained that the wings were from free range chicken and that’s why they were small. This was not advertised anywhere and she said they weren’t going to advertise it. Never going here again.
Still never got a reply from mama get who said she’ll contact me.

Very surprised how horrible our food was as me and my wife have eaten here before. My wife had the original wings and I had the original boneless wings. We shared a side of curly fries. Everything was luke warm at best. The boneless wings were dry and seemed like they were sittimg around for awhile. The original wings were also warm at best. My gut instinct was the order arrived within minutes of ordering leading me to believe our order was not fresh. It took longer to get our drinks and we were sitting at the bar… Didn’t complain about it but after checking some other reviews I felt compelled to take time to write a review. Halfway home my wife threw up in the car. Needless to say don’t think I’ll be eating here again. Not really sure what has changed with the food since my last visit, but management needs to address this issue.

We had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Madeira Beach Hooters located on the John’s Pass Boardwalk next to Friendly Fisherman’s Restaurant, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, and Pirate’s Pub & Grub. The Madeira Beach Hooters offers beautiful waterfront views of John’s Pass, Eleanor Island, the John’s Pass Sandbar boat party, John’s Pass Marina, and Gators Waterfront Restaurant on Treasure Island. We visited this Hooters on the day of the John’s Pass Seafood Festival when the entire Johns Pass Boardwalk was over-​run by tourists. Surprisingly, this Hooters handled the crowds better than most other restaurants in the area and was able to seat us and serve us some drinks without any wait time! We managed to get 3 seats by the bar and were able to get drinks in under 3 minutes. Although this Hooters was in the tourist-​trap central, otherwise known as John’s Pass Boardwalk, with amazing views, they did not price gauge and actually had some awesome drink specials including $ 2.50 Bud lights and $ 3 Aluminum bottles of brews. Hooters also has top notch Margaritas! Their drink specials run Monday night, Thursday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday! This Madiera Beach Hooters offers the best views of any Hooters that I’ve ever been to with a huge wrap-​around waterfront deck. There is covered seating on the deck for those who are sensitive to the sun and also seating in the sun for those wishing to get a tan. For a beach themed tie-​in, this Hooters had benches made of Hooters branded surf boards and a «World’s Largest Wing» hanging from a hook like a Shark. There is even a sign claiming the wing was over 1000 lbs lol. Service was quick and courteous! I have had the grilled fish tacos, burger, and thai spiced wings naked (non-​breaded here) in the past from here and they’ve both been great! If you have never visited this area, you owe it to yourself to check it out! There are plenty of TV’s here which is perfect for watching football or any live sports. The views are incredible! Looking forward to coming back here again when I am in this area! Thanks!

The wings are always good, even if they are a little small. Apparently they recently switched to naturally fed chicken, and the size difference is noticeable, but they are cooked just right! Always juicy and tender. Skip the fries and get the tots. They are always spot on!
Try the wings Daytona style. They fry them naked and then bake them, and they’re great! If you like yours hot, get the 3-​mile island sauce or hotter. If you can’t stand the heat, the Daytona or chipotle sauces are just as good, but without the pain.
Service can be hit or miss at the tables, but it is always great at the bar, inside or out. Great view, and when the weather is nice there’s no better place on Mad Beach.

I don’t know how this place has so many negative reviews. I’ve been there several times and was never disappointed. Let’s start with the amazing view of the water. I always sit outside and enjoy looking for dolphins. The girls (servers/​bartenders) have always been friendly and efficient. The food is great! My hubby and I always order their shrimp with sweet chili sauce and some hot wings. A pitcher of cold beer quenches our thirst. Have accidentally gone there on «Football Sundays.» Each of their many tv’s is broadcasting a game. It’s a bit loud (main reason why we try to avoid sport bars on those days). The fans seem to have a blast and it’s always been friendly and people kept it classy. Outside tvs do have a lot of glare, but there are plenty inside for those who really want to watch. Will be definitely back again and again.

I know it is funny to review a chain restaurant, but it is in a popular tourist area. Also, sometimes when you are out and about, you think, «oh let’s go to this chain restaurant because we know what to expect.» The reason we ended up at this Hooters is that my husband loves Hooters wings, and we had just gone for a little ride out to the beach/​Johns Pass and decided to get something to eat. It was the day after Thanksgiving and a lot of people were sitting at the bar, including us. There was only one bartender, who was in the weeds the entire time. It took ten minutes to even greet anyone new who sat down. I am not blaming her, I am blaming management as they should have two people scheduled for a bar that big on a busy Friday. Also, a manager came out, and didn’t help her. We thought he should have at least bussed for her and or had someone else bussing for her and pitching in. I ordered the naked Daytona style jerk wings. They were fried beyond belief, not finished on the grill (which is what their Daytona style is) and the «rub» was just some seasoning dumped on them after they were cooked. Probably some of the worst wings ever. Also, I ordered an 8 piece all drums and it came out 10 piece mixed. The order ticket was correct, so the kitchen messed it up. I did not send it back because I didn’t want to wait, and quiet frankly I am always concerned about sending food back and getting something nasty done to it (I have seen «Waiting»). I ate five and explained what was wrong then asked the bartender if she could just charge me for the five, but she took the whole order off our bill, which was nice.
My recommendation is that if you are out at Johns Pass, and want to get a quick drink and a bite to eat, go to one of the other places on the boardwalk or down the street.

Football headquarters my a**. The manager refuses to put on the sound for a football game we are watching. I’m trying to watch the game and have to listen to top 40 music. This is not the first time we have had a problem on Sunday’s here either.
I guess they’re paying John Gruden for nothing. Stay away on Sunday, Monday and Thursdays folks.

Lousy butts. Bartender talked with other waitress the whole time we were at the bar. I give it two boobs down

Service was slow and they didn’t have all the drinks listed on the kids menu. My son ordered apple juice and she brings him a Capri Sun fruit punch. Umm so not apple juice! He then asked for chocolate milk because he does not drink Capri Sun and they were out of chocolate milk also. At that point I was done. Not impressed!!!
So I left this review and within 24 hours I was sent a message by what seemed to a concerned owner. She advised she wanted to speak to me regarding my experience. It took me 3 days to respond due I was on vacation but I guess speaking to me wasn’t important as she has not yet contacted me. Again not impressed!

It takes forever to get your food, despite the fact it was not busy. Was not impressed. Most of the staff seemed like they had other things to do besides work. Not good compared to other restaurants in the chain.

The food was good, but the service was horrible. We had a girl with long blonde hair, that kept forgetting everything. She didn’t bring utensils until I was almost done feeding my 2 year old. She never came by to check up on us and it took forever to get the check. At this point you probably think that the place was full… it was’t. It was empty. There was a few tables occupied and the bar was full. There were enough waitresses around to service everybody on a timely fashion.
On a good note, on the way out I asked the hostess to take a pic with my son, and they were all for it. The girls were really nice.

The absolute WORST Hooter’s I’ve ever been to!!! The WORST service; starting with the ladies at the hostess stand! We were a party of six with 2 toddlers & the hostess told us that they only had one ‘high’ high-​chair available (apparently the others were being used). Come to find out from a «manager» (only after asking her if they actually had more because we didn’t see any other tables using high-​chairs) that they only had the one. The only tables to accommodate a party our size were the high tables yet they only had one ‘high’ high-chair…that’s crazy. This is a tourist location, where people vacation with their children so why in the world would you only have ONE ‘high’ high-​chair at this location?
With most Hooter’s I’ve been to you’re welcomed with a smile & friendly faces. Not this one… so if you want to continue to have a fun time on the boardwalk try another restaurant. At least maybe you’ll feel like they want you business.

1^st… notice any good reviews were over a year ago… sort the reviews by date… then you will know why the following review is spot on.
Sent my friends from Germany to this location, even though I no longer frequent this location, as they wanted wings and to experience a Hooters, the world wide chain. I personally have had less than good experiences at this location in the past.
As expected, sadly, they had an absolutely awful experience. Weren’t greeted, took forever to get a menu, and the food was sub-​par. The restaurant was not busy at all.
The ladies room was described by my friend as «the filthiest she has seen in America,»…I am ashamed for allowing them to even go to Hooters…
As a local resident, and a Unilocal Elite, I will never, EVER go to this Hooters again, and will tell others to avoid this location (and the location at Tyrone Mall) at all cost.
This pisses me off, since I really used to like to go to Hooters in general.
What a waste of a great chain… what the hell happened to the original Hooters Seven… they should be ashamed too.
UPDATE!
So, both times I have written a review about Hooters— both Tyrone Location and Johns Pass location the manager has left a note on Unilocal stating she will be in contact… yet no additional contact occurs.
So, management acts a good game on Unilocal,but doesn’t really follow up with solutions although they say, in writing that they will make contact. Rather fishy…

So you see that «corporate person» apologizing & willing to talk an make up for the problem on my first review? SHE NEVER RESPONDS!!!
