HORRIBLEEXPERIENCE!!! I am not the type to ever leave a review. Most restaurant experiences I’ve had are fine, some amazing, some bad, but a lot falling somewhere in the middle. The experience I had at The Brown Boxer was by far, the WORST restaurant experience I have EVER had in my life. To start, our server didn’t come to our table until 5 – 8 minutes after we sat down. Ok, maybe he was busy; it happens. We order our drinks, appetizers and continue on. We waited a little longer for our drinks to come out, but we had several beers, and there was 14 in our party, so again, it happens. The appetizers took quite some time to come out, and can’t say we were too impressed with them. The spinach and artichoke dip was super runny and the tater tots were blasé. We ordered our food, and it came out in a timely manner. But that’s about all I can positively say about this place. One of our orders(the shrimp po boy) didn’t come out until 10 minutes after our food because the kitchen dropped it and had to remake it. To top it off, the sandwich only had FOUR shrimp on the sandwich. The steak flatbread was chewy(definitely NOT filet mignon), the grouper cheeks tasted like dish soap, the 50⁄50 burger was the same size as the tomato(teeny tiny), and the California chicken was bland, and the bacon was chewy. Needless to say, the food sucked. To top it off, the family who’s po boy can out super late was never offered to have it comped by management for the delay. To make matters worse, when they asked to have it removed from the bill, the server acted as if it was this bizarre and insane request. When he finally came back with the bill, he stated that management refused to comp the meal, and that he was paying for it out of pocket!!! At that time, we asked to speak to management, only for the server to return to tell us that MANAGEMENTREFUSEDTOCOMEOUT! From what the server told us, the kitchen manager argued that there were 6 shrimp on the sandwich, and that they didn’t make a mistake. We ended up paying our bills, and leaving, win management never coming out to speak to us. I cannot reiterate how horrible this place is. The food, server, management, and atmosphere are awful. I’d much rather go to the beach and eat sand than eat at this place again. Save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere!!!

Convenience to our place on the beach brings my rating up to a 2, otherwise a solid 1. Don’t bother ordering anything but a burger and a beer here, which can be pretty good. I especially like their 50⁄50 burger. I’ve ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich several times. They can’t seem to get the batter to stick. The honey mustard dip is awful. Same with the flatbread pizzas.

Bottom line. Don’t go here if you want good service and quality food. Place smells nasty while you walk from front door to back outdoor seating. They need to get rid of the nasty soiled carpet. So we sat down ordered fish spread, garlic nuggets and pickles. About 15 min later server comes back and says they are out of fish spread. That was strike 2. We then order gumbo. The server says they no longer have it because it wasn’t any good. Then we ordered a burger, salmon, chicken wrap and pulled pork. About 10 min later server says they don’t have that either. So I settled for fish and chips. 45 min after we ordered we finally got our food. Management must suck. Not a sign of one. No hotness, seating a free for all. Best part is location and entrance into building. Will I return hell no. I didn’t read any Unilocal on place before going, wish I had. I wouldn’t have gone. So now I post for future patrons who read before going. Not much more to say on this horrible restaurant

The food is overpriced and the service is atrocious. But if you like a dark, dirty atmosphere with a pretty faced group of thoughtless ‘females’ that just kinda stand around, then this is your place.

This place was cool. Nice atmosphere. Good service. But the prices are ridiculous. $ 30 for four fireball shots. Seriously?! Maybe if it’s Patron but Fireball isn’t worth $ 7. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Great place to watch football– lots of tvs. Good deals on beer. Watched the super bowl here. I ordered the French dip –pretty plain but ok. My husband ordered the burger and liked it I had broccoli on the side and it was surprisingly good for s bar. $ 4 bloody Mary’s on Sunday were delicious. Fun place!!! Megan was our waitress– she was attentive, friendly, helpful and fun. Now we are watching march madness here. Cheap beer. Well drinks r cheap and strong. Lots of tvs. Good nachos. Our waitress lisa is very nice and very attentive. Will be back! Great place to watch the games. Even tho msu lost the Iowa fans were fun and Iowa won!

This is a handy spot to grab a quick drink and sandwich or stop in for apps and a drink. Most apps are heavy, almost all are fried. Tots were an awesome deal and tasty, buffalo and coconut shrimp ok and the Ruben roll(fried) ok. But it’s a grease stop fill er up place. Average rating for average place!

We stopped in for lunch, and couldn’t believe how poor the service was. It was 20 minutes just to order drinks. Our server named Kane, was a guy, whose fingers were so black with grease, that it looked like he was working on a car, as he was serving. Who wants to see gross hands like that, when getting their food delivered? After about 40 minutes, we had to go find him, so we could put our food order in. At that time, he grabbed my drink to go get me a refill. After 15 minutes of seeing him run by a few times, I finally asked what happened to my drink? He then ran off and brought me a new drink. We did finally receive our food, after being at the restaurant over an hour, but our food was cold. I don’t know what Kane’s problem was, but my business associate kept saying that it appeared Kane was on drugs. We were very disappointed.

Excellent fish and chips! They also have interesting draught beers. They had the Leinenkugel’s Cranberry Ginger shandy, which I love in the bottle. This was the first time I’ve ever seen it on draught, and it was amazing! We were there on a hoppin’ Friday night, and they had live music going on. Plenty of TVs available for sports. And you can bring your dog! How cool! Our server was friendly and efficient. Will be back for sure!

Great for late night eats. The mussels white wine scampi was the best and the stone crab chowder amazing. Glad we able to find some good eats at 11pm!

Food was ok. Ordered carry out on a Friday night. Cheeseburger w fries, bbq chicken flat bread, mild buffalo wings w ranch and mild buffalo shrimp w ranch and blue cheese. Food was ready in 25 mins as promised. $ 42.06. I went to the bar to pick it up. Bartender was quick in giving me my bill. I gave her $ 45 and told her to keep the change for being prompt. Get back to the hotel w the food. Cheeseburger and fries with no Ketchup for either. Wings were ok w ranch. My buffalo shrimp was packed w only ranch, no blue cheese. The breading was too hard in spots. Bbq chicken flatbread was ok. No napkins w all that finger food. I was frustrated with the fact that they didn’t think about what extras we would need and that they didn’t give me the sauce I asked for. It was basic. Nothing special.

We had the Boxer Balls and Cheese sticks. The Boxer Balls are a «Reuben» theme. It wasn’t my jam, but my husband loved them. It was MNF and our service at a bar table wasn’t very good… we had to get our own beers twice. Lots of tv’s, dog friendly and lots of outdoor seating. Also, there is karaōke from 5 – 9 on Mondays and the somewhat more senior crowd was digging it pretty hard.

What a great place to watch a game and get some good food. Take your pooch and sit on the patio, feel the gulf breeze and have a ahi tuna salad or wings. The food is enough to fill you up and there are enough TVs for every game. The service top notch and the atmosphere is friendly. We come her a lot and have never had a bad experience.

Ice cold miller lite bucket! Great patio! One of the best French dip sandwiches I’ve had in my entire life. Meat was not processed or leathery. It was thick, juicy, tender and full of flavor, loaded with provolone… yum!

Thursday night and it was Flatbread Pizza night. Had some spaces at the bar and live entertainment. Singer was excellent and had a great selection of tunes to play. Had a few cocktails and Ahi tuna app plus blackened chicken flat bread. Flatbread was unbelievable. Ahi was slightly fatty, but, not bad. Totally edible. Great local spot and live music venue.

All the way to the days when this place was Leatherbacks, it was/is always packed. However, we fail to understand the hype. Now, Leatherbacks might have been something special, but this place is certainly not. The comments on sucky service are certainly true. We arrived around noon, parking lot almost full. There was no host/hostess, so we found a table outside. We ordered our drinks from what seemed to be a cook. We got our drinks, but we still needed a minute. We asked for exactly a minute. 10 minutes later, the man was no where to be seen. Another waiter came and took our order. I’m not sure how long our food took to come out, but it was a long time. Our salads came out when your food would come out normally. It took forever for the hot food to come out. When it came out at 1:15, an hour and 15 minutes after we arrived, it was average. It was brought by a waitress, who was our server for the rest of the meal. The chicken sandwich was average, the buffalo chicken sandwich was nothing better than anywhere else, and the quesadillas were incredibly sloppy, but tasty. The food was pretty much Chili’s quality. The only exceptional entrée was the cheesesteak. Delicious. We decided to splurge and order a key lime pie. It was really good, and it was YELLOW, a true sign of authenticity. It wasn’t bad, but we would only come if we couldn’t think of anywhere good and close. We wouldn’t come here normally. The main issue here is the service. Honestly, I would rather go to Chili’s. I never thought I would say this, but the service is better at Chili’s.

I came here with friends since it is dog friendly and we had a bunch of pups in tow. Brown Boxer has a nice outdoor deck area, but that is about all it has going for it. Overall, my table’s food was pretty mediocre. I was pretty let down by my meal. My fish tacos were not prepared as they were described on the menu, missing a few key ingredients, and the amount of cabbage served with them was seriously about a teaspoon’s worth. When I asked for more cabbage, I was brought a very tiny«extra» amount. Considering the server told me this was one of their most popular dishes, I can’t imagine what something less popular must be like.
