We should’ve gone somewhere else. The service was quick which was great being hungry beach goers. The waitress was friendly, however when the food came we were disappointed. I got a clam chowder which tasted fresh and homemade. We both got fried seafood of shrimp, clam strips and fish between the two of us. The fish itself was great and the batter on it was crunchy and seasoned well. So the fishy parts of the meal were wonderful. The fries however, totally different story. They were way overcooked! Burnt and too crunchy rather than a potato center. We mentioned it to the waitress and they brought out a new batch of fries for us, and they were a little better but still were the worst homemade fries I’ve ever had. Hush puppies were also black. And the coleslaw was bland. Wouldn’t go back as we paid $ 40 between the two of us and were vastly dissatisfied with everything except the fish parts. It’s a shame because the fish parts were very good.

We stopped in at Mad Beach before we headed over to the beach for the afternoon. It was awesome! As soon as we sat down, they kindly brought my daughter some coloring pages and a little container of crayons(I appreciated this, because it kept the crayons off the floor). Our server was very helpful when we asked for suggestions on what to get, and I ended up with a Rum Runner, which is 3 types of rum, plus a few times of tropical juices($ 5 — what a deal!) and an AMAZING blackened grouper sandwich plus delicious homemade fries. That grouper was super fresh and the sauce they give you to go on it was absolutely killer. My daughter lived the vacation dream and ate their oreo pie for lunch. It was delicious! Wonderful pie served alongside a nice pile of whipped cream that she created a «masterpiece» from :) . I’ll definitely go back next time we’re there. They have a beautiful view of a little inlet of water with boats parked alongside as well, which provided entertainment for my little one and a nice relaxing view for me.

Did you go out and catch our food? So far, the service is horrible. We’ve been waiting for appetizers for 40 minutes now can’t tell you much about the food yet because it’s been so long and we have nothing. Id love to rate the food and will have to post an update if and when it ever comes. So our appetizers came out after 50 minutes followed by our entrees directly after. For apps we had gator bites and fried green tomatoes. Our main entrees were shrimp and grits and stuffed fish of some sort. Everything was tasteless and needed salt to be edible. Not impressed. Such a shame because the location is great. Bottom line: service was horrible and food just barey average.

Worst food I have ever ate in my life, the fish tastes like they wrapped it in corn dog dough, the chicken parm is disgusting and the chicken is gross and fake. The bread was as hard as a rock and uneatable, everything was burnt and over cooked, this place deserves less than a 1 star!

Mad good! Great food at a great price. Ate dinner 2 nights in a row. Our server was Heidi both nights too. She was very nice. Can’t wait to do it again. #madgood

We went for dinner based on info and reviews on Unilocal.I thought the outdoor would be bigger but it’s just a small deck overlooking the canal and docked boats. The server tried to seat us in the corner but we moved where we had a little more room. Of course the couple next to us was smoking — that is so gross — I can’t believe places that serve food still let people smoke — if we would have stayed in the corner seat we would have been smoked out. Server seemed to be in a hurry and a little annoyed. Ordered cup of conch soup — which was ok but in a red stock that I didn’t expect. Fried green tomatoes — very good. Dinner plates cane out super fast. Man had fried shrimp — that were fried shrimp — tough to mess this up. I had blackened grouper… it was just ok — nothing special.

This is a fun place to have dinner or a drink! Indoor and outdoor seating(stairs or elevator up to 3rd floor). Overlooks a beautiful marina! Quality/variety of food is really quite good and portions are large and prices are very reasonable. The service doesn’t run on New York City time, it runs on island time, as it should! Sit back, relax and enjoy this gem in MB!

Best breakfast I’ve had on the beach. Shocked at how few people were here at 10 on a Sunday. As a Midwesterner I’ve been accustomed to DIY Bloody Mary bars on Sunday and having lived in Florida the past ten years this is the best and most comprehensive one I’ve encountered yet. Best part? Only $ 3! Food: had a Greek omelet, eggs fried up perfectly with home fries that were crisp on the outside and piping hot. My wife had a low-carb version of their salmon benedict, which was a special request that they handled exceptionally well. Server Sharon was friendly and personable, attentive without being overbearing. Bonus manatee spotting made our experience just about perfect!

Started out bad with fritters that were not cooked, got a replacement order… still not cooked. We were ready to write the whole meal off. But the main course was just fine.

Nice fish restaurant with a great view of the marina. The fish is fresh, and I got the grouper which was awesome as usual. The service was quick and friendly. a very nice fish house whenever you’re in or near Madeira Beach. I would like to go back there. It’s on the third floor of the building, but there is an elevator if you don’t want to take the stairs. Get there early because it got packed on a weeknight.

I must say I had a pleasant experience. This place is right across from where we are staying and we were starving. The staff was very welcoming and present. I tried the gator tots for the first time. They were very good! Would recommend. This place

Mad beach has become a favorite as we’re trying to find a beach location when most others are way too busy and crowded. The staff is friendly and they always seem to have a nice little drink special to help you relax. I forget the gentlemen’s name but they had a performer/singer this afternoon and it was perfect as his laid back melodies and voice were a welcome addition to providing a soothing, relaxing environment.

This our casual«go-to» restaurant in Madeira Beach. Although we like to keep our business on Treasure Island, we make an exception here. Bartenders are friendly, drinks are reasonable. Food is good… service at the bar is usually very good. I ordered fish tacos, and my friend ordered a nice salad with shrimp, both were nicely done. We also ordered side salads that were really fresh. Recommended for a casual and inexpensive dinner.

Went there for Sunday brunch with my husband and a few friends. My friends have been there before and recommended it. $ 3 Bloody Mary and mimosas! Our sever was chatty and friendly. Yes, we had to «catch her» a few times as people arrived, but it’s not an issue(we weren’t in a hurry). My husband and I ordered the fish spread to start and grouper sandwich each. Two friends on each side of me ordered salads and hush pups to split. The food arrived reasonably quickly and tasted very fresh and delicious. We added a dash of hot sauce to fish spread to enhance the flavor. The portions were pretty big. My friends’ salads were huge! We were all pretty satisfied with everything. I loved the view of the water and option of seating: inside or outside. Will definitely return again.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. For apps, both the fried smelts and fried lobster were the bomb(surprised more restaurants are doing smelts). The drinks are cheap, in a good way. Will be back to try other stuff that also looked good!

The service was good and the food came out quickly. The food was edible although lackluster. My husband ordered raw oysters. They were very large but«creamy» and tasted«weird» to him. He ended up not finishing them. I ordered the Key West Chicken. The chicken was served on a bed of black beans and topped with chopped onion and tomato. The chicken was moist but lacked flavor. I’m convinced the black beans were straight from a can with no seasoning whatsoever. I am a huge fan of hush puppies and even those failed to please. They weren’t seasoned at all and were a little doughy/chewy for my taste. Edited to add: their house ranch is thick and creamy with a nice flavor. I am hopeful that the restaurant will see this and take it for what it’s worth. They have potential and I strongly think if they used better ingredients, some spices, seasonings, herbs, et cetera, they could bring it a lot more return customers.

Yummy, we ordered fried green tomatoes which were delish, we also ordered the fritters, they tastes good to me since that was my 2nd time ever having them but my family said they where slightly over cooked on the outside and under on the inside but I still enjoyed them! I got the bacon and shrimp grits, the shrimp was perfect but man I man was the grits heavy and rich. I could only have 2 – 3 bites. The bread it came with was good. We also had the pork chops, seafood alfredo, and fried fish. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server was the best, I think her name was Nicole but I’m not sure. She was super friendly, was on top of refilling our sweet tea pitcher and just very pleasant. If I find my receipt with her name on it I will update it if it’s not Nicole lol.

Yesterday I was invited to a nice lunch at the Mad Beach Fish House… Address: 13205 Gulf Blvd, Madeira Beach, FL33708 Phone:(727) 398‑4103 Hours: Open today · 11:00 am — 9:00 pm Menu: Because I am a local and go to John’s Pass quite often, I am hesitant to say that this was my first experience at this location… I don’t believe it will be my last. The upstairs restaurant has a great view of the water(ICW side) the interior has a New England décor kinda feel and is clean and bright. My host, unfortunately is allergic to all forms of seafood so she ordered chicken fingers, which she complimented several times as being«fresh» and just breaded. She seemed to enjoy the chicken quite a lot! I chose to go with Seafood as I have no such terrible allergies… For lunch I went with a(Combo) Basket of Shrimp & Scallops along with french fries & hush puppies… $ 13.95(See photo below). The Shrimp & Scallops were also fresh and well prepared, very tasty in fact! I found the meal to be more than enough and I left a majority of the fries in the basket… Service was attentive and upbeat and the atmosphere was perfect for our lunch meeting… I would probably recommend the Mad Beach Fish House as maybe the best place to eat right near John’s Pass Village…(If a view of the Pass itself was not required).
