The bargains are prolific, so if you want quality items for less, it is truly thrilling to shop here! I have never met an employee that wasn’t really polite! They always offer to help you out to your car, too, which is so nice. Good selection of gluten-free items and organic fare. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been to other Grocery Outlets and do like them. I went to this new store in Madera. I didn’t like the layout. Not really logical. Also not a good produce selection. The store in Oakhurst is better.

Super sale on potatoes 2 bags for $ 3.00 and they looked great. I thought, «what am I going to do with all those potatoes?» Soup ! I simmered the meat, veggies, spices, etc. When it was almost done I started to wash and peel the potatoes when I noticed a faint smell like window cleaner. I didn’t really think to much about it. I kept washing, peeling, and chopping and threw-in the potatoes. I started cleaning up the potato skins and noticed that smell again. It was coming from the skins. I don’t use chemicals in my kitchen so I know it was nothing I had. I took another one out of the bag and washed it, peeled it, cut it in half, then smelled it. Sure enough it was coming from the potatoes and we had already eaten some of the soup. I took what was left back to the store and told them what happened. They asked if I wanted another bag… AHH! NO! I told them if I die I would come back and haunt them. She kind-of-laughed and handed me back my $ 3.00 from the tainted potatoes. The three-dollar tainted potatoes wasted a $ 35.00 pot of soup! When you buy from Grocery Outlet make sure you check and smell before you cook!
