I’m giving them 1 star because the front office staff was professional and kind to me; I can’t say that for the Drs. Dr David Kay was unprofessional and rude to me I waited almost 3 hours before I left without a refill for my eye medication.
Saw a Dr sorry never got his name it was my second visit he was an Asian man saw him week before last I originally saw Dr Wiens he was great I had an eye infection he prescribed 2 antibiotics for 5 days.
I returned a week later for a follow up when I saw the Asian Dr he said, «your eyes are great, I won’t need to see you for another year. I said, «but my eyes still hurt.» Dr said, «just finish your Meds your eyes are fine see you next year.» 3 days later my eye were in excruciating pain and I had extreme light sensitivity with pain; I was really frightened; Dr told me my eyes were fine and that I didn’t need a refill on my Meds he’d see me next year??? Then why all the pain and light sensitivity in just 3 days! I couldn’t see had to keep my eyes closed my family had to help me walk.
I called Natural Vision received an appointment the next day. I informed the tech that I wanted to see a different Dr since I wasn’t better my trust in the Asian Dr (sorry) I didn’t get his name was very low.
But the same Asian Dr came in anyway he was visibly upset cause I didn’t want to see him; he aggressively told me, «I’d have to sign a waiver releasing him of all liability???» What liability since my eyes were great and I didn’t need a refill right? I’m good for a year?!? The Dr was mistaken and he was upset with me!
He left then he came back again and abruptly started to examine my eyes, I was shaken up I asked that I not see this Dr twice but he didn’t care! I pulled away and said, «I’d like to see the other Dr or the Dr Wiens, again the Asian Dr roughly said, «I needed to sign a waiver releasing him of liability»
He left then Dr David Kay came in and sternly said, «Ms Woods let me do my job and examine you.» I said, nothing, this is what I wanted a different Dr but Dr Kay now was upset with me, why? I had never met or talked to him at all. Dr Kay told me that, «I needed to calm down that I was all over the place and that I was irritated and hostile!
I was astonished and shocked Dr Kay examined my eyes then told me that, «I was just emotional and all over the place.» Still I said, nothing, I think I was in shock that this Dr I never met or talked to had such a horrible description of me because I refused service of his colleague so they both we’re going to assassinate my character cause they both were angry.
Dr Kay took me to another room and had a Tech do a eye ultra sound on me and left me there for another hour. I said, nothing and waited patiently, Dr Kay returned thanked me for waiting, I said, «you’re welcome but where would I go?» Dr Kay, snapped at me and said, «what did you say?» I repeated, «where would I go?» Dr Kay just grunted.
Dr Kay asked me, «may I be frank with you?» I said, «sure, I thought he was going to do his job and talk to me about my eyes! But no, Dr Kay told me, «that I reminded him of his sister she’s all over the place too and that because I’m obese and emotional I’m healthy as a horse and that he wasn’t going to give me anything for my pain in my eyes that I was fine just obese and emotional.»
Dr David Kay said that, «I needed to take Zumba classes and start walking exercises TOMORROW!» This is an eye Dr!!!
Then Dr David Kay says come back 8÷17÷15 for a light eye laser surgery!!! Thought I was as «healthy as a horse?» Then why schedule me for surgery and refuse a refill for eye pain and light sensitivity medication?
These Drs are looney, egotistical and lack professionalism. I will never go there again! I left went to another optometrist office and received a refill for my eye pain and light sensitivity all under 30 minutes! Dr David Kay and his Asian Asst. Can go kick rocks they’re an embarrassment to their profession. Pathetic and ridiculous men I wouldn’t take my dog to see them let alone a person I cared about! Skip this place by all means! They’ll snap on you if you have an opinion of your own. Classless Drs.

This is part of an optometrist group that have locations in Madera, Fresno and Chowchilla.
The service in general is good and polite. In my visit, they were running late like 45 minutes… I don’t know if it was because I was a first timer or because they had too many people appointed at the same time.
The place is very clean, their equipment looked updated and their doctor was competent and friendly.
I cannot tell you about prices because my insurance covered it. They have personnel that speak Spanish.
A good experience and i recommend it… Just be sure to give a margin of time when you make your appointment.
