I love this sandwich shop! I think they have the best sandwiches in Madera. I also love their Chinese chicken salad and pasta salad.

My favorite sub shop when I’m near this area of town! My fav all the time is the large turkey bacon combo with potato salad and tea… it’s delicious and highly recommend when near this part of Madera! SubShop over subway when possible

I had my first sub sandwich here when I was 4 years old in 1978. The three beautiful women are the third owners but the sandwiches are still as good as they were 37 years ago. I am so glad some things dont change.

First time trying this place. Pitiful rude service. My chicken sandwich soggy and chicken was pink. Avoid at all cost.

The best place to get a sandwich in Madera… and many other places as well. Food is always fresh and delicious and everyone gets great, personal service. Try the popular tri-tip sandwich, the amazing BLT, or the delicious clam chowder and don’t forget the dessert. The chocolate cake tastes homemade and is the best I’ve ever had at any restaurant. The place is small and a bit hard to find, tucked into a little corner in a shopping center that’s easy to miss, but once you find it, you’ll probably want to come back again and again.

Great sub sandwiches in town. If you want to get your favorite sandwich you need to get their early. Always fresh and very friendly staff. They also have the best homemade cookies in town. The prices are very reasonable. Wish they were open after 5 and on the weekend.

The Subshop offers fresh sandwiches daily. Their salads are plentyful, easy to find, and are open during lunch hours only.

Always out of whatever it is I want to order, even if its still on the menu special board! When they do have it together, it is pretty awesome and it is one of my favorite sandwich shops.

They have the greatest tri tip sandwich. But they run out really fast. I try to be there by 11 o’clock in the morning to be able to get 1.

Did a quick search for a deli/bakery with our Garmin, found this place, looked it up on Unilocal read the reviews, tried it and it was AWESOME! I will go out of my way for a great sub, and the Sub Shop is definitely on my return trip list. Great sandwich, friendly service and prices are below average… And we got our free cookie as a first time customer. Will definitely be back!

Place sounded pretty promising by other Unilocal reviews, so I decided to check the place for lunch. Friendly service, and I got my order in a decent time(when I went I was the only one there, so I don’t know what the lunch rush would be like). I got a sub off the hot menu, a tri-tip dip large for 5.95. It’s pretty much the same size as a quizno’s sub, probably less expensive too. I live a mile away, so I decided to drive home to eat. When I got home my first bite reminded me that coming home to eat a hot sub is probably not a good idea. So I heated the sub up in the mircowave for a good minute and it made it taste much better. The bread is sweet and soft, the tri-tip has a good flavor to it and has little seasoning which I like. The au jus wasn’t to bad either, but was a little salty. I won’t lie though, the sub really needed the au jus because the tri-tip dip only had meat and bread, I added some mayo on my own to give it little kick. Overall it was a good meal, nothing to rave over, but a much better alternative than subway or quiznos. I’m sure there other subs are also tasty, and I would come back to give them a try. For that, 4 stars.

I promised my colleagues I would review this place. After a long morning in Fresno, we found ourselves on the journey back to Sacramento tired and hungry. Being that I am one of the few social media savvy people in my office, I hopped on Unilocal to try to find a quick spot for lunch in(gasp) Madera. Now, where is Madera you ask? If you asked me before I stopped at the Sub Shop I would have responded, «somewhere in the middle between nothing and something.» But now I know it as the tiny little town with the awesome sandwich spot. The line out the door around noon was proof of how awesome it is. But don’t be discouraged by the line. The service is quick. Space is limited inside the shop to eat, but there are a couple tables out in the breezeway right by the front door. Because this is a local spot, the people at the Sub Shop know whether it’s your first time ordering food… and if in fact it is… YOUGET A FREECOOKIE with your order. YUM! so if you’re every journeying on the 99 and feel a hankering for something delicious, check this little spot out.

When I was in high school I used to eat at this place nearly everyday. I always ordered the turkey sub with everything. Today I decided to give them a try again. I know its not the same owners as it had back in the 80’s. In fact I think there have been a few owners since then. I ordered the pastromi sandwich but they were out of pastromi. I ordered the tri tip but they were out of tri tip. So I ordered the turkey sub. In their defense I was in there after 2pm on a Friday so I am sure they just ran out of my first two choices. I got my sandwich and it was pretty close to what I remembered. The service was very warm and friendly. While this place won;t be an every day thing, it will be on my list of regular stops. Hopefully I’ll get to try their pastromi soon. If you want a good sandwich at a decent price with lots of nice ladies serving you, check out the Sub Shop in Madera.

Evil has noticed quite a number of sandwich shop reviews amongst the Fresno Unilocal community. Since Evil is a trend-setter and not a trend-follower, we must assume our review of Sequoia Sandwich Shop on 8⁄11 triggered this… Actually, we tease… There are a few places out there that do not seem to have been covered, so we thought we’d comment on them now. Sub Shop & Deli is a lovely little place in Madera. Despite it’s redundant name, this place is top notch. Recently, I was in Madera with a couple of my sycophants on business, so we stopped here for a quick bite. Not only was the BBQ chicken sandwich delicious, but the service was very friendly. Also, a simple compliment to the chef netted us a FREE slice of carrot cake, which is an Evil favorite. Finally, it was a very good thing that I am driven when I go places with the minions because I quietly slipped into a Sub Shop induced food coma before even hitting the Madera city limits…
