Always have a great meal here. Décor is cute, place is clean, and wait staff has always been very friendly. In regards to food, for me the highlight is the variety, they have some creative surprises but also all the classics you’d expect. Met the owners last time too and they were very sweet. Will keep going here whenever I go out for breakfast.

This is one of the places I’ll miss when we move away. Love the food. Relaxing and friendly.

Serve was horribly slow it took over an hour from the time we sat down to get out food. Ordered pancakes with«strawberries» and paid extra($ 1.69). It was ONE strawberry cut into paper thin slices. Not worth the price and won’t be back.

Another Broken Egg is okay. The food is mediocre, at best, and the prices are a bit steep for the quality of food and service. You can definitely find a better breakfast/brunch place in Madison for better value.

Visited this location again because we had a great experience the first time, well not so much of a great experience today. Our server was Kianna she wasn’t very attentive. We had to ask another server for refills and our check. We sat and noticed that her section stayed dirty for at least 30 mins all the other servers cleaned and cleared their tables. She wasn’t very polite and seemed as if she didn’t want to be there. If we come back hopefully we will not get her …

Food was delicious and came relatively fast for how packed the place was. waitress was awful. took our orders and never saw her again. She didn’t deliver the food, never got a refill on my drink that was empty for the entire meal, couldn’t even catch her to bring us the check.

Based on the quality of the food I would have gladly given our experience 5 stars. Based on the service I feel I’m being generous at 2 stars. Like many of the other reviewers our wait time was given as 30 — 40 min which became 60. What really annoyed us about this was the upon observing the lack of urgency by those tasked with cleaning tables to ready them for the next guest. We watched as several tables finished their meals and left and the tables remained dirty for 15 minutes or more instead of being cleaned so another party could be seated. We observed this with at least 6 tables so this is either standard operating procedure or the staff is poorly trained and managed. We may try the jones valley location but if the service there is as slow we’ll have to find another breakfast place. Too bad because the food is great!

Not ready for prime time! Although still relatively new, this particular Another Broken Egg on Hwy 72 is still trying to find its feet. The first insult was losing our name on the wait list. We came in on an early Saturday afternoon, and after 45 minutes of waiting, we had to ask what was going on. «Oops! We lost your name, sorry! We’ve lost several names today.» As if that makes it better. Note to servers, when you screw up, offer something in return for free, apologies by themselves don’t feed the bulldog. The second insult was the stupid amount of time it took to deliver our food after ordering. Another 45 minutes. Total of an hour and a half from arrival to getting our food. I ordered the traditional yolk with steak and 2 pancakes. It all was credible and tasty but no better than what you’d get at Cracker Barrel. My wife, however, ordered the Supreme Omelet and it was just flat out burned, especially the sausage. Our waitress never asked whether our food was OK. That was the third and fourth insults. All this for a total of $ 36. Obviously, we won’t be back.

Nice place. I enjoyed my Hey Lucy! omelette. Didn’t care for the buttermilk pancakes; thought they were blah and overpriced. The waitress could have been a little friendlier.

I struggled back and forth on what to give this review. I have reviewed and been to the ABEC in Birmingham numerous times. Always have a long wait, but always get great food and service. The wait is expected, but is always worth it. This experience, while similar, left me with a bad image of this location. In this case, we came into town for a party that my wife was helping coordinate with some other friends that we wanted to meet for brunch. We decided on Another Broken Egg because we knew what we were getting. As I already mentioned, we knew there would be a wait so we prepared for that. We arrived a little before 10:15 and put our name in. We were told it would be a 30 – 45 minute wait. Which was no problem. They even sent a text asking to download an app to see where you are in line. Which, as my wife said, can be kind of terrible because you are constantly checking! Fast forward 45 minutes later, the app said that we were next in line. Once again, no problem. We will be a little bit later than predicted, but still in good shape for our time. 15 minutes after that we still didn’t have a table. So we go in and ask what’s up. They promised they were working on it and would have us seated very soon. Fast forward another 20 minutes(note we periodically checked and were told the same thing), they finally start working on a table outside. By this time, a group that arrived after us were already seated, eaten, paid, and walking out the door. The staff that was outside«trying» to get our table together, cleared the table and then were standing there with blank, confused expressions. Turns out, one of the tables they were trying to get was broken. Wait, wait, wait… Now we are getting into a time crunch. They finally pull something together and we are seated after a little over an hour and half wait. Had we been told that from the beginning, we would have gone somewhere else. Had we not been told that it would be «very soon» at the hour mark, we would have gone somewhere else. Now a fun, relaxing brunch with friends we haven’t seen in a while has turned into a race to get orders in and eat in a hurry. No real apology except a casual«sorry for the wait» from the hostess. No apology from the manager. Up to now, a firm one-star experience. Fortunately for the restaurant, our server was fantastic. We told him we were in a hurry and he made it happen. Although the lack of competency from the set up crew haunted us again when we all had food and no silverware left us sitting there unable to eat for another 3 – 5 minutes(seemed a whole lot longer since we were starving!!). Also fortunately for them, our food is what we have come to expect from Another Broken Egg. Which the quality of food is such a big part of my reviews, it really saved them from a 1-star notch. The southern crab stack was on point. As I said from the beginning, we expected a wait. We weren’t even overly upset when it went over our high end prediction of 45 minutes. But when that OVERDOUBLES that time and told they are«working on it», that is a big problem they need to get sorted out. 5-star food and waiter, 1-star customer service, 3-star experience.

On vacation and this little restaurant was highly recommended to us. Very charming and cozy… the steak and eggs was awesome… our whole party loved the food. Only downside was no hash browns but the country potatoes were good. Ohhh… the mugs were very pricey at $ 18…maybe $ 10 and we would have gladly taken home 2. Overall, great dining experience.

It was my first time coming here the other week. I called ahead and put myself on the wait list and I was still waiting for another 40 minutes with being on the wait list, so I ask to be put outside. Our waiter didn’t come out until we ask the server from other table to take our order. Then it took about 30 – 40 minutes before we even got our food. In the mean time I also did a to go order at the same time that we order our food. Didn’t think anything of it we didn’t get our to go order until 40 minutes after we had finish our food. The waiter kept saying 15 minutes for like 4 times finally I couldn’t wait anymore I left and had my husband come and get when he was on his way home. On to the important stuff. FOOD! I order the thick slice Hawaiian French toast with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon with some biscuits and gravy and a Baquezo(I think that’s how it’s spelled) and my husband had a King Edward. The to go order was an Oscar Benedict. The French toast and the side order was really good. Then it just turn horrible when I took a bite of the biscuit and gravy. It was so salty I had to make the waiter take back the plate. That literally send a shock wave to my brain because of the saltiness of it. The Baquezo was okay. it wasn’t what I had thought it to be. My husband said he would come back for the King Edward. Overall I would’ve gave it 5 stars but the wait to get in and the wait on the food made me give it 4.

Breakfast? I mean just how many different ways can one make it? After eating at ABE since it opened, I have the answer to that now and it is «many» ! They have a wide menu for the traditional as well as the adventuresome. I confess though I’m never going to manage the dish with seafood & eggs. Service is super, whether you get the wait person named after a month or the one with two first names, all the folks seem to actually like working there and it shows in their service. Essentially new, it has a nice comfortable open atmosphere and if you want to sit outside or down a Bloody Mary or two, they got ya covered! Place is too damn popular & we’d never get in except they use the«no wait» app to let you get in line without standing in line. App server was down this AM and ABE didn’t miss a beat and called our cell to let us know our table was ready. Plan on $ 10 per person.

Ok so it’s been YEARS since I’ve been bold enough to visit olé Abe(Another Broken Egg). The last run in(Jones Valley location) put me on a 3 day weight loss program likely because somebody in the back didn’t wash their hands. Scared yet? Relax… I’m still here typing. This location on 72/University is not that nightmare. In fact, I think I found my new Sunday brunch place in Huntsvegas. Get here before 9am unless you want a tan(I never need one) or to wait outside and awkwardly hold conversations with people like me(you don’t want that). The cool thing is that they use the NoWait app so you can track your progress and maybe go to Sprouts next door to pass the time. The menu has changed some, including a wonderful breakfast app of toasted crusty bread, warm brie(squee!) and stewed fruits(applies, raisins, golden raisins) and walnuts. That’s a nice touch. The Southern crab stake is as good as it was, they’ve changed out some of the omletes but they’re still solid with anything egg-related. And they should be for Pete’s sake. Salmon Benny is still good as well, but I’m not all that stoked about the pancakes… BUT I’m admittedly a pancake snob… if such exists. The bacon is thick and cooked just right. Of course, my brunch cocktail wasn’t available(Orange Bliss) likely because they were out of liquor 43, so I tried a red sangria… it was OK. Fresh fruit and a decent wine but I didn’t catch the brandy undertone though. The waitstaff is still getting their feet under em, so be patient. I am. Once the get the rhythm of crowds down I’ll come back with an update.
