Been going here since 2010. When Lee was the sushi chef! Miss him and his wife. But the new folks are always welcoming and food is superb! We have NEVER ordered anything that was not good! Strawberry Blossom is an absolute MUST to try! Mmmm

I live in California where there’s Asian restaurants on every corner. I am originally from here and this is my favorite restaurant to go to

Right when i walked into the restaurant, It looked very nice. Although it took them a little while with ordering and taking care if us. I can understand because there was only one server. but we ordered the 2 sushi rolls for 14.99 which was so good! we ordered the shrimp tempura and midori roll which is definately recommended. Overall, we will definately go again! I also love the fact that the menus have pictures in them!

I lived in Japan for three years and ate out frequently. This restaurant is my «go to» once a week for a trip down memory lane. The décor is authentic, the food & presentation are absolutely perfect(& delicious) & the service is great. A winner every time.

Good solid choice for Japanese. Giving it 3 stars for now, because there are other restaurants close by that I prefer. We ordered the gyoza as an appetizer, but it came out just after our entrees, which is always annoying. But the gyoza tasted good. I liked their selection of non-sushi foods. I lived in Japan for a semester, so I’m always on the look-out for the staples of Japanese cuisine to satisfy my impossible cravings. I ordered yakisoba, and it was just okay. I enjoyed it more out of nostalgia than anything. The portion was not large enough for the price in my opinion. Although I ordered the vegetarian option, there were hardly any vegetables in it. I was really surprised that there was no pork option as well, since pork goes hand-in-hand with yakisoba. My boyfriend got 3 sushi rolls, and they were very tasty. However, at Sapporo just down the street, they have a fantastic 3-roll sushi combo that is much cheaper and just as good. Sapporo apparently closes midday, which I think is silly for a restaurant. We just so happened to be in-between those hours, so that’s why we checked out Sayonara. I would definitely like to give this place another try and see how some of their other entrees measure up.

I am really surprised at how many good Japanese restaurants are in this area! And this is one of them. I’ve been here a few times and today we came for lunch. They have sushi lunch special for 2 rolls, salad, and soup for only$ 7.99! It’s such a deal! We had the bento box with beef teriyaki and the beef was soooo good. It was cooked just right, medium or medium well! The bento box was only $ 9.99! Honestly you can’t go wrong with anything you order. It’s a family owned restaurant so everybody is nice!

So glad we found this crew again once they left O’Sake on Elliston Place. Best fresh fish, best rolls, great staff and crew. They are our neighbors and we can’t wait to go back!

Huge selection and quality fish for a good price! This chef knows his trade. Really, everything is great about this place! Even when(one time) I didn’t get what I ordered, I was graced with a sushi roll at no cost… and it became one of my favorites I order all the time! The Nashville roll. Yum… and fitting!!! I gave it a 4 because the atmosphere needs updating, but the fact that they deliver really compensates for that – I’ve just never used that service, so I can’t rate it accordingly.

I rarely write reviews but I genuinely feel that this place is a hidden gem. Everything I’ve ever tried has been delicious and is moderately priced. The atmosphere is very welcoming and I will continue to go here regularly. Also, their lunch specials are hard to beat!

Was in the Rivergate area, and was wanting sushi for dinner. I was very impressed with how fast our sushi was prepared. It was the best sushi I have ever had, and you couldn’t beat the price. I ordered two fried rolls(total of 16 pieces), it came with a salad and soup for $ 13.99. That is almost unheard of. Will definitely come by to Arigato again.

Food was just decent. The sushi chef was very impersonal and rude. He actually rolled his little eyes at me when I told him I got a wrong order. I am a foodie and love trying out different places and befriending chefs but I wouldn’t go back to this place.

Jay is the best sushi chef in Nashville. Great selection of rolls with the best ingredients and he is always coming up with new ones. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

We are new to this side of town and have started searching for a couple of sushi restaurants that we can enjoy eating at. My daughter and I went here due to the high ratings it received, however we left extremely disappointed. The food was below average compared to other sushi places we have experienced. It had very little flavor and was overwhelmingly drenched in the sauces which took away any flavor left of the sushi. Not only that but we only ordered 3 rolls to share and each had miso soup and the bill was over $ 50, that was very dissapointing, needless to say we will not return.

The first time we went the food was spectacular and the presentation was beautiful… Second time we went the food was good but not as good and the presentation was ok… The third time we went the food was thrown on a plate with no regard to presentation and the sushi was stale and the rolls were falling apart and it was all just terrible, and that sucks because we spent 100 $ on it… I will not go back there… I guess they only try to show off the first time you go… I dunno maybe the chef had a bad night but they lost a customer… To many other good options to waste money.

I am from LA, and staying with my family in Tennessee for a few months and I was certain I would be forced to not have good Sushi for the entire time. I stumbled upon this place one day with a friend of mine and we figured since the reviews were great that we would give it a shot and OH. MY. GAWD. so glad we did! their spicy seafood soup was so good that I almost regretted getting the sushi(almost but not quite). Their sushi was so delectable, it was extremely fresh, which I was amazed by and tasted just as good as my favorite sushi place in LA. Not to mention, the staff was soooooo friendly and nice. The sushi chef answered all of our questions and was very polite. And the waitress didn’t hesitate when I requested that my miso soup have more seaweed in it.(honestly she seemed shocked that I wanted more seaweed).

I’m not sure where this sushi came from but literally the biggest menu and best I’ve ever had. We asked them to surprise us and it was amazing. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. I’ve eaten in 5 stars around the country and I’ve never tasted better.

I am a huge sushi person and I love trying new places out. My fiancé and I did a search on Unilocal to see what was close to home that we hadn’t been to yet and we happened upon this restaurant. I am glad we did! It’s a smaller place in a strip mall but don’t let that deter you from going here to try it! They have sake and plum wine(and other drinks of course!). I had the plum wine and the glass was filled to the brim! My fiancé had the sake, which was large and very tasty! They have an extensive menu and a lot of different options to try. We started with a squid salad and a seaweed salad, both of which were delicious and large portions. Large enough that we shared them :) We then choose three different rolls to share and again, they were delicious! They also gave us a green tea ice cream to finish our meal up with :) The prices for what we got were good, in comparison with other sushi places we have been with and the quantity that we got! We will definitely go back again. I just hope they get a little busier. When we were there, there was only two other tables filled at the same time.

I’m not a sushi person. But I pass this place all the time when walking my dog, so we decided it was time to give Arigato a try. I understand that they’ve recently renovated the place, but I never saw the«before». We were a little disappointed that they still didn’t have their liquor license. I tried the seafood tempura, and it was alright. My wife had the steak teriyaki, and I liked it better than my own dinner. We’ll probably go back, but there are a lot of other places I’ll need to try first.

Took my fiancé to his first Japanese restaurant, he is not the type that likes to explore different cuisines, so I was extremely happy that he wanted to try it. He had the teriyaki chicken/steak box, which was great for him. He didn’t understand the miso soup(i believe he called it dirty water — terrible) I had sashimi, which is always my go-to when trying new places. I want to taste the quality, temperature and cut of the fish. i thought it was pretty good! their roll menu looked very full and detailed and would like to try some of them. Overall a good experience, I will definitely be back as it’s fairly close to home and something off the chain restaurants that rule this area. cute décor too.
