I have never in my life put better BBQ in my mouth. Literally the best I’ve ever had. The line is long but it is worth it. The potato salad made my life, and it’s worth every penny.

Really disappointed with this place. I got the 3 meat plate to try a variety. I got the brisket, chicken and sausage. They ran out of ribs 2 customers before I got up to ordering position. The brisket was both dry and fatty, how it could be both I don’t know. The chicken was fine but also very fatty. The best of the 3 was the sausage, but when I go for BBQ, I usually want ribs, brisket or pulled pork. After eating ¾ of the meat, I had a pile of fat and skin the size of my fist. The slaw was bitter and the beans were beans, neither great nor terrible. I saw the man who was slicing the meats come out and ask some of the male customers how the food was. He did not ask us(2 middle aged women). Even if he had asked, I would not have complained, I was too afraid I might get shot.(Customers are greeted by pro-gun signs throughout the establishment)

Great little BBQ joint. Felt authentic and tasted delicious. Our Texas friend said it was lacking compared to what he is used to but I loved it and would totally go again. I suggest the brisket & ribs!

Really good place, prices are reasonable, amazing BBQ! I had brisket and sausage — Brisket was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to a lot of BBQ places. Just make sure you come early for lunch — get there before 11, otherwise lines go out the door.

Great BBQ in a real down home atmosphere! I ordered the the two meat plate, ribs and their signature brisket. Both were cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor, the sides beans, and slaw were on point, and the sweet tea capped the meal. I really wanted to try one of the fry pies, but I had no room left. Down home is a good way to describe, not fancy but it just felt right. This was the exact type of place I love when I have to travel for work!

The BESTBBQ I’ve ever had. The brisket melted in your mouth… Also got spicy sausage and ribs which were amazing. We decided we would only eat Chuck Wagon for the rest of our stay in Madison. But were disappointed to find out the next day they’re closed on weekends. :( Wish I could have tried the pulled pork! Almost willing to fly back there just for Chuck Wagon!

Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Sides are above average as well. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that they are not open for dinner every day. But that’s probably why the quality of the food is so good. When ever I’m in the Huntsville area it is a must stop.

Chucks wagon bbq is definitely yummy. I had their brisket sandwich and pound brisket on two different occasions as well as their sausage sandwich. I definitely love the flavor of everything i have had here– beans were good too. Brisket really great and tender. However on at least three occasions I’ve noticed the terrible aftermath of being extremely thirsty after the meal, so much so that it became hard to sleep. I don’t know what they add to their bbq but maybe some other people can validate and explain this better. The one other person I shared the brisket with also became super thirsty afterward so I don’t think it’s just me. If it weren’t for this very disturbing extreme thirst after chucks bbq I wouldn’t mind eating there all day every day.

Amazing Que!!! I am very picky on my bbq as I used to be on a competitive team. This stuff is amazing! I know everyone says order the brisket(which I did) but you are doing yourself a dis justice if you don’t at least try the pulled pork. It is amazing, tender, and full of that smoke flavor. sauce isn’t even needed. Brisket: mild smoke ring, very tender, but slightly drier than I like. Brisket is also one of the hardest to cook. However don’t take this as a negative this is some of the best I have had from an establishment. Pork: amazing!!! This stuff is so good you must order it and order a lot of it! Do tender and full of that sweet smokey flavor! sides: corn on the cob– good and tender Slaw– not a fan but that doesn’t mean much. Apple pie you ask? Price: the only negative but hey if the que is this good who the heck cares how much it cost.

I was in Huntsville on business and was looking for a new barbecue place to try and I saw all of the reviews for this one and was really excited. Walking in it smelled good, the ambience is awesome and my mouth was watering. The brisket looks fantastic and then there’s the guy with the cowboy hat serving up the meat. I was pumped cause I love good Q. I ordered brisket, sausage and pulled pork. I also got some baked beans, potato salad and two different sauces to try. I probably had my expectations set too high when I went in, but the meat was just ok. I could see a smoke ring, but I did not get a smoky taste. I’m not sure why. I’ve had some great BBQ in Alabama and this was not it. Don’t get me wrong, the meat was good just not great. I’ll probably try other places next trip.

Best brisket in town without a doubt! It’s worth the wait in line to get a plate full of awesomeness.

The meat here is really good and fresh! Seasoned well and I love the ambience! It is a bit small and I visited during the lunch hour– so the line was literally out the door. But I do see why! As I got ready to check out… The check out lady actually over charged my husband and I. As I noticed it and tried to correct it, of course, we backed up the line. The old guy cutting the meat noticed the line backed up as I tried to resolve THEIR issue and he was(inadvertently I assume) very rude as he hollered at me. «If it’s still wrong just come back»… And I am not sure he noticed it wasn’t my error. That was very unprofessional and rude. I won’t be visiting this place again because I felt really bad about the way that was handled. But the food was good. Baked beans were average. But meat is good!

Best BBQ I’ve found around and I’m from Texas! I eat here every time I’m in Huntsville. Can’t beat the price for«alway» perfect ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Try the baked beans, he keeps pushing the shavings from the brisket into the beans as he carved up the meat.

Somewhat pricey but overall a good value. Nothing bad on the menu, but the beef brisket is outstanding and a must for new diners.

Holy smokes Batman this place is the real deal! I have traveled all over the place and have had some great barbecue and Chuck wagon by far is the best. I love how from the outside it looks like a total hole in the wall but trust me what it lacks in looks in makes up in taste, in a BIG way. I ordered the pork BBQ with a side of Cole slaw and was blown away with the flavor and the quality of it. The pork was super moist and meaty with the flavor so infused in the meat no additional sauce was needed. The Cole slaw to my surprise was a vinegar base not a mayo base and was sweet and crunchy! I was skeptical by the looks of this place but, wow this place was awesome. Can’t wait to go back and try the sausage next time.

It seems all I can do is echo the sentiments of my fellow carnivores. I travel all over Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee regularly for work, and this is of the best BBQ in the south. If you haven’t yet afforded yourself the pleasure of having your mind and palate blown, head over to the weird trailer on Madison Blvd, ignore the long line and cramped quarters, and delve into some of the tastiest animal you’ll ever experience. You’ll leave thanking whatever god you serve that you were born an omnivore.

Best. Food. In. Huntsville. I had to ban myself from eating here more than once a month. cause otherwise… I’d die… I mean I’d die happy, but I still would die. Brisket just melts in your mouth. Their sausages are excellent. Pulled pork is good too. Never tried their chicken though. Ribs are awesome too. Just go here.

Let me tell you how happy I was to make it to Chuck Wagon BBQ… I was in town for the week and wanted to try CWB, but was afraid I would miss out because of my work schedule and the restaurant hours. I had some free time for lunch and headed straight towards. There was a long line, which almost intimidated me, but I decided a long that long, meant it was WORTH the wait. So happy I stayed! I ordered the two meat plate with brisket(I asked for the burnt ends) and spicy sausage. It was amazing! The brisket was perfect, not fatty at all. The sausage was great too! Potato salad and beans were good, but not the reason I came here. If you are looking for some amazing Cue, this place is the real deal. I travel and check out the BBQ in all the states I visit, and I will dare to say this is some of the best!

Texas BBQ in northern Alabama? Count me in! Make sure to bring the stretchy pants because this place doesn’t mess around when it comes to portions. Chuck Wagon’s fall-off-the-bone ribs are outstanding! Add a little of the hot bbq sauce and try not to make a mess as these things are a handful. The brisket was very tender and juicy, but definitely needed some sauce to add some much needed flavor. I thought the sausage was decent, but nothing to write home about. For sides I tried the baked beans and the potato salad. Both were excellent and I especially enjoyed the burnt ends in the baked beans. Don’t even get me started on the peanut butter cream pie… as Guy Fieri would say, «that is out of bounds!» Finding great bbq in an unassuming place is always a treat and if I find myself in the area again I’ll definitely be back.

Holy shit this is good BBQ. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Chuck Wagon is an absolute must if you’re in the Huntsville area. The long and short of it: 1. Brisket. The brisket. Get the brisket. Stop reading right now and order the brisket. It’s tender, flavorful and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. 2. Sauce. Their BBQ sauce is pretty decent, but I thought it was ultimately not needed. I tried the mild and the hot sauces but didn’t see a real difference in them. 3. Price. Not the cheapest place in the world. A 1 meat(get brisket) plate will run you over $ 11.00. Throw on a drink and tax and you’ll end up shelling out $ 15.00 minimum for lunch. That being said it’s still completely worth it. 4. Wait. It’s a pretty small place. It’s a pretty popular place. There will be a wait, though again it’s worth it. This may be the best BBQ I’ve ever had, so pass up all the other BBQ Huntsville has to offer and get some brisket. Overall Grade: A
