The chocolate was pretty good, and the packaging was nice and gifty. The staff were nice and helpful. I just know that they would do a lot more business if they would rearrange things so that the lady in the back making the chocolate were right in the front of the store, so passerby could see it being made by hand. Rearranging things would be a big expense, but I’m sure it would improve sales. Also, offering chocolate dipped strawberries would be nice.

I haven’t been to too many chocolate shops in my life, but in my opinion Cocoa Safari is spot on with the location, design, and the product itself. The owner makes everything in the front cases from scratch and you really get that homemade feel! I think my favorite is the homemade carmel with sea salt. I don’t know if it’s a fad or if it’s here to stay, but I’m diggin’ it. I recommend the dipped peanut butter fudge too. The owner also makes these giant tortoises that are too cute! There’s something for everyone to munch on for a dessert on-the-go. In essence, the shop suits Madison’s small-town, authentic feel and the chocolate is mouth-watering good! I had a blast!

I was happy but not blown away by the chocolates that I tried here. I had a variety of their offerings in the bark category. The dried fruits and nuts were fine, but the chocolate itself, although good, wasn’t particularly memorable.
