You want to feel beautiful leaving a salon, right? This place absolutely does it. Thank you for a fabulous I-friends-husband-loved-it haircut Ernst! The products used are luxurious, but they’re never pushy about buying them. I booked my appointment online and received a confirmation shortly afterwards. Easy peasy.

Lauren is by far the best hair stylist for cut and styling that I’ve ever had. Every time I have an appointment she listens to what I’m thinking and then is able to suggest what would make the cut I want work for my face shape. I always leave feeling like a million bucks. Lauren also did my updo for my wedding. We had a morning wedding and Lauren cheerfully came in super early to do my hair(like 7am). I had several ideas and she was able to hone in on what I really wanted, a high ballerina bun. Basically nothing that screamed«wedding-y». I loved it and everyone else did to. I had so many compliments and truly felt like the most beautiful version of myself. Thank you Lauren!

I found Julia Grace Salon while doing an internet search for wedding hairstylists in Madison. I live in Chicago and the staff made communicating SO easy. They had a group of girls for hair and makeup come to my hotel so my bridesmaids and I could sleep in and have breakfast and mimosas while getting ready. :) Everyone’s hair looked INCREDIBLE and the makeup stayed in place all day and night. I did not need to touch it up once. The prices were very affordable and the staff was so friendly and fit right in with the wedding party. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get married in Madison or the Madison area!!! I have been to the salon(for my trial run) and the salon is spacious and very clean as well! Thank you so much!

Amanda is my to-go stylist. I used to live in Madison and now I live in New York but still fly back to Madison every month and I feel like I rarely have time for highlights in New York so sometimes I keep on going back to Amanda whenever I am around. She is the best colorist for long blonde hair and knows how to take«gold» out. Her services are by no means cheap — $ 175 last time with taxes and tip(New York prices are lower), but she is really good. Amanda makes sure to go to annual conferences dedicated to hair styling and coloring and she is on top of all new trends including non-chemical hair extensions. I strongly recommend her.

I got a lovely haircut from my new stylist Winnie. She listened to what I wanted and let me keep my length and suggested ways to help me keep my hair out of my face. I was a bit apprehensive about getting bangs but she was so good at helping me think it through. I love my new haircut and will now always go to Winnie for all my hairstyle needs. She was fabulous!

I had my hair highlighted and cut by Malinda through a Groupon special and she did an excellent job. I have a pretty fast paced lifestyle and it was refreshing not to have 3 hours at the salon to get partial highlights and a nice haircut(I was in and out in an hour and a half). She did a fantastic job with my bangs and my boyfriend remarked that he thought it was the best highlight job he had seen on me yet due to how she balanced the color with lowlights. If you want a talented, genuine stylist with lots of great stories to boot – I recommend Malinda!

Just had my make-up and hair trials for my wedding here, and they were amazing! Jalissa was great with my make-up and really listened to what I liked/didn’t like and I was very happy with the result. Melissa did my updo and she was fantastic! She was very efficient and nailed the style I was going for. Definitely recommend either of them and feel like I’m in good hands for my wedding day! And credit needs to go to their wedding coordinator, Mary, because she has been very prompt in answering my questions(and there was a lot of questions) and very helpful in setting everything up! All in all, a great experience thus far!

I love this salon. I’ve only gotten my hair done here, but it’s been fabulous all three times. After going to Aniu twice, paying twice as much, and leaving dissappointed I tried Julia grace and Juliana is wonderful. The wash and head massage is wonderful every time, my color turned out wonderful and the prices are definitely fair. I will continue going here for sure.

Juliana is great at listening and making suggestions so you come away with exactly what you want. She’s done cuts, coloring, and up dos for me and they all turned out wonderfully. As for the salon, I rarely have to wait more than a minute or two and unlike some other salons, they don’t leave you waiting with color on your hair for 45 minutes while they highlight someone else.

Not sure why the reviews of this place are so negative — I’ve only been a couple of times, but my experiences have all been good. I found Julia Grace through their Living Social cut/color deal. They were prompt, friendly without being overbearing, and competent, so I’ve been back for a couple of haircuts since then. Jalissa is really good at haircuts that look good on /my/head, instead of on an older or younger or thinner sort of person, and they’ve also been able to get me convenient appointments on fairly short notice.

STAYAWAY! This place is terrible. We moved here recently and I saw this salon because it is located in the Princeton Club. My teenage daughters and I had our hair styled here for a special occasion — no cuts — and it looked really good. Melissa did my 13 year old daughter’s hair and it looked amazing. She actually does a great job and should really try to get away from the awful woman who owns this place and the incompetent stylists that the owner employs and go work somewhere better. She is too talented to be surrounded by this type of inferior service. Since we liked the styling we had gotten we decided to come back for cuts and color. One daughter was lucky enough to be with Melissa again and her haircut was great. My other daughter and I each had our hair cut by someone else(something with a J? I wish I could remember but she had long wavy red hair) and both our haircuts were totally uneven and awful. My daughter has long straight hair which only really requires that the hairstylist have the ability to cut in a straight line, which was apparently not the case here. When we got home and I looked at the back of her hair I realized that it was noticeably longer on one side than on the other! Also, my highlights were totally uneven and my daughters were too. I was in total disbelief. The next day when I washed and dried my own hair I saw that my hair had that same problem, as well as being a really bad choppy version of the hairstyle I usually have done(never before at Julia Grace). When I was paying I asked about an ad had seen in the Princeton Club on the screens they show ads on by the treadmills about a 10% discount for new clients. I told them that they hadn’t given it to me the time that we had come for the stylings and could I use it that day instead on our bill? She said that they don’t have any discount like that and that I was wrong. I have seen it since then again on the ads in the clubs but she didn’t honor that. Now I think all this is bad enough, but it was how we were treated after this that I was even more upset about. When I called and spoke to the owner of the salon, she was very, very rude and very unaccommodating as to when she would be able to fit us in for re-cuts. I explained that we were leaving on a trip at the end of the week(we had come in on Sunday so that we wouldn’t have to be rushed toward the end of the week before we left on Friday) and she couldn’t find ANY times at all for us except for Thursday night, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid, since I am always busy before I leave on a trip. We came in and she was very unfriendly. We did have our hair redone — she cut and recolored my daughter and Melissa cut and recolored me and they were fine. As we were leaving, I told her how inconvenient this experience had been and that no one had even apologized for our troubles. Instead of just saying I am sorry at that time she chose to say«I don’t know what you mean. I apologized to you on the phone. What is it that you want me to do for you?» Wouldn’t it have just been better business to be nice at that time and apologize instead of taking another opportunity to be rude again? I asked her if she would be willing to give us 2 free haircuts(we had originally paid for 3 haircuts and 2 colors and the bill was over $ 300 before the tips and I was only asking her for about a $ 60 credit total) She said OK but later in the week sent me a LETTER telling me she didn’t think she wanted me as a customer and that she was refunding my $ 60!!! I was shocked! She no longer wanted me to come back! SO instead of going back and speaking to the stylist who did a terrible job(which the owner was fully aware of because she re-cut my daughter’s hair and saw mine too) she thought it would be easier to get NEW customers rather than retraining her staff. In essence, she fired the customer instead of the stylist who gave bad service! I guess she has so much business that she doesn’t need any more! So my advice to any of you who are thinking of going there… DON’T! She has all the customers she needs and doesn’t want any more. FInd somewhere to go that actually values their customers and treats then well.

I recently had a cut and color done after buying a living social. The salon is in a nice location. The hairstylist did an excellent job with little direction. I didn’t really enjoy the specific stylist that did my hair. She was very«preachy» to me and since we had just met, I didn’t necessarily appreciate that. All in all, good cut and color but I probably wont be back.

I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Lacey M. at Julia Grace for over 6 years and I highly recommend it! The salon is very clean and comfortable. Lacey is fantastic and always makes you feel like a million bucks when you are there. The other girls that work there are also very nice and talented.
