We have had breakfast and dinner here. They are amazing. The country ham is delicious! The catfish is wonderful. The service is very good.

If you are looking for deep south home-cooking this is the place for you. Love to visit for lunch. Service is quick, fresh, tasty food with portions and prices that are hard to beat in Madison. Keep up the good work!

Quite frankly, one of the best restaurants we’ve been to… ever. On our short weekend trip, we’ve already been here twice and are considering a third visit. We both continue to exclusively order the catfish filet meals, with every element of the plate being true, down home southern cooking, just like grandma’s. We will definitely be back on every return visit.

I give Little Libby’s five stars! The catfish dinner was excellent, the restaurant was very clean and the wait staff was very friendly. My husband and I were here in Madison AL this morning on business and found this gem of a place. We are from Ohio and this was our first trip to Alabama. We hope to be back. Oh yeah and Cindy at the register said to be sure and mention her name on Unilocal!Hi Cindy!

I had several catfish dinners in Huntsville this week, and this was, by far, the best one during my visit. Coleslaw, hush puppies and catfish filet were the highlights. I would 100% recommend this restaurant. Give yourself plenty of time to eat. This is definitely a restaurant and not a fast food joint. However, its a good time for conversation and relaxation. The servers are attentive and make sure that you don’t have to wait around for refills.

If you like catfish, you’ll love this place. Small, old school family oriented, not fancy in any way, but good home cooking, they even had pea salad, yum. Great service with good folks.

Best catfish and fried okra of my life! Huge portions with perfect light/crisp cornmeal breading on the fish. Waitress was delightful. Service was quick. Wish I lived here. Sadly going back to my northern Wisconsin home where the fish fries are real real good but not this good. I could be made to move to Illinois for saying so — the truth hurts!

The service was on point. The waitstaff was on top of the orders. However, everything else was a huge let down. The fried catfish was the most ordered dish of our very large group gathering, and it tasted like a toilet. I couldn’t eat it and my daughter couldn’t either. Oh and my daughter pulled a bone out of her mouth– dangerous! So we got it replaced with country fried steak and a cheeseburger, both of which were frozen pre-formed pieces of meat. I took one bite and nope! After reading all the Unilocal reviews I expected something to blow me away. This did exactly the opposite. I would’ve rather saved money and ate at home. It was also very loud since the kitchen was right there. Not impressed. #sorrynotsorry

A rare 5-star restaurant review from me. I preface this review with«I never liked seafood until I tried catfish at Top of the River in Guntersville.» I was told it’s so good that even I, who don’t like the taste of ANY seafood, much less strong catfish, will love it. I did like it; it was mild and I could eat one piece before my taste buds were done with it. The reason I mention Top of the River catfish is because some claim Libby’s is even better. I found that very hard to believe. How could a diner in Madison have better catfish than a nice restaurant on Lake Guntersville? My coworker and I headed to Libby’s today to see if this rumor is true. I ordered 1 catfish filet, with slaw, fries, and hushpuppies. The fillet was large and looked OK. When I stuck my fork in it… wow! It fell apart in the most tender and flaky way. First sign of awesomeness! Never had I seen such moist and tender seafood. I took a bite and, well, it was HEAVENLY delicious! Hot and fresh and I happily ate every morsel. Final verdict — absolutely it’s much better than Top of the River’s!!! The sides were also delightful. The fries were cooked perfectly, seasoned lightly and expertly, and served hot. The mayo-based slaw tasted like the cabbage was picked this morning and Grandma made the dressing herself with all fresh ingredients. It was served with a lovely sliced onion on top, which was a perfect accompaniment to the meal. The hush puppies were the 2nd best I’ve ever had(after Cajun Café in Lacey Springs). Hot, fresh, light, and crisp, with diced onions cooked into them. We were given an entire big bottle of fresh tartar sauce, which puts the mini cups of about 2 tbsp other places give to shame. Superb and light flavor and tasted homemade. The service was friendly and attentive. Nice hometown feel atmosphere. Little Libby’s is a GEM!

Was hoping for something good for Mother’s day lunch here, but the food was just a bit below average here, the wait staff and everyone that worked there were very friendly and on top of things as far as service goes but the bland frozen and canned food was not good at all. Very disappointed overall and won’t be back, not sure how all of the reviews here are as good as they are unless no one has ever tasted fresh food.

I love catfish on the bone. I come here just for that. It is always very good. The price is very acceptable. Best hush puppies in the area.

This was my first visit to Little Libby’s. I had the big catfish plate(whole), w/fries and the house slaw, plus a side order of turnips. I actually thought the catfish was slightly better than the old Greenbrier. The only other noteworthy menu item was the slaw. The turnips had zero seasoning, and the tea was mediocre. Good service and lots of food for the price, but too many hiccups for five stars.

My parents live right around the corner from this wonderful little diner and yet had never been. So when we were trying to figure out lunch plans on our recent visit I took to Unilocal to find a place and Little Libby’s popped right up. Thanks Unilocal! You have once again left me with a full and happy tummy! The staff here is SO friendly! Our server was awesome and handled my crazy family’s requests like a pro! I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciated her great attitude-meals with picky eaters can be quite a harrowing experience, but here it was no big deal. Whew! The food is good and plentiful. We ordered fried green tomatoes and I was very happy with them. I ordered a BBQ plate, and although they admittedly do not smoke it in house, it is freakin fantastic! The turnip greens were seasoned just to my liking and the fries and toast = carb heaven. My hubs and my brother both got chicken fried steak and they were gone before I could ask them how it was! My mom’s catfish was also really good, I was very happy with the bite she shared with me. They also give you cornbread and rolls with butter, but honestly, I wasn’t too impressed with either, however, it’s free, so whatever. Lastly, they give you a little piece of white cake for dessert. I guess it comes with the meals, although the menu doesn’t mention this, so it was a nice surprise. And boy was it good! LLC&D is a great place. I know we’ll be back next time we visit and I anticipate my folks will be back without us before then.

Found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. The service was exceptional probably because Jada(a really friendly employee) talked to me until my to go order was ready. She had a great personality and was very hospitable, as was the cashier that took my order. I lost track of the length of my wait because Jada kept me engaged as I waited. Finally I received my order and it was steaming! Everything was good… I couldn’t believe the fried green tomatoes were an option for the meal plus 2 sides! Wow! I’d visit again– great customer service and food. I would have given 5 stars if they had a to-go cup but they don’t have those. :)

You can’t say a bad thing about this place the entire staff were pleasant and personable the menu is full of country fare that is good olé southern cooking and well the dining area is dated but nostalgic. In for a late lunch and there were lots of people, a sign that this is the right place. As a bonus I order a special that was sold out so I wound up with the catfish. It was outstanding. Crispy tasty and perfect Lu cooked. This is the place a lonely traveler can get a decent meal and some really sweet attention from all the wonderful waitresses. This place is a quaint little gem!

Never go in between lunch and dinner if you want a soda. It just so happens they break the machine down for some odd reason at that time. Friendly staff, and the food is good, I still prefer Blue Plate Café though any day of the week.

Classic Southern Cookin’. My wife and I split a Meat and Three lunch special on a Tuesday. We split it, because we’ve been here before. We felt like we were eatin’ at Grandma’s house. First they brought a basket of several cornbread rolls. Then, Chicken & Dressing with gravy, and cranberry sauce on the side. We got a wonderful«Develled Egg,» and a small bowl of Collard Greens. This plus a piece of cake, an Iced Tea and a glass of water. Our total bill was about $ 9.50. So, on the scale of 1 to 5, food quality was 4, quantity was 6, and value was about a 7.
