So, I just read all of these reviews before i went to Madison Wok. I have been going there for years and never noticed the«filth» that is talked about here. When I got there, the chairs were on top of the table as the floor had just been washed. It didn’t look dirty at all, the inside of the kitchen looked clean. The guy at the desk has a dry sense of humor, but is friendly. The funny part is that this place is ALWAYS busy at lunch and dinner. I see the delivery car all over. Tonight’s food was great! Large juicy shrimp in the fried rice. Give them a try, I’m def. on the picky side and think its fine.

I am a fan of this place. It is not perfect, I’ve learned to get them to adjust the food to my likening(easy on the sauce for General Tso, add soy sauce while cooking fried rice). Fast delivery and open late, I likey.

Umm. I love grungy Chinese takeout, but this falls well below my standards. I mean, I’m willing to eat the foods served out of a mobile cart in Taipei in one of the night markets. Yet, Madison Wok frightens me. I think that should give you an idea of the bar I’ll set to eat good food and this place doesn’t even come close. First, let’s just call out the one upside: Location. It’s in a shopping plaza that’s near my house. OK. Now all the downsides: — This place looks dirty. Like, really dirty. — The guy who runs this place is downright mean. Look, I’m Asian. I’ve had plenty of Asian people be mean to me. I’m used to grouchy women wheeling dim sum carts shouting at the top of their lungs and staring you down when you stop them with a gruff, «You want it or not?» but this guy just needs an attitude adjustment. — Should rename this place Grease and MSG. Man, eat here and be ready to take a very long nap. — Chinese food, even the American-Chinese variety should be delicate. There’s nothing delicate about the food here. It’s salty, greasy, hit-you-over-the-head type stuff. No more. Now I’ve just stopped being lazy and drive somewhere else for my takeout fix.

Tried this place last night after saying about six months ago«we’ll never order from here again». The food was absolutely terrible. Hot and sour soup was poured down the sink. Stay away.

I love this place. When Jesus has opened my floodgates, the delivery man never judges me for my counter full of tampons. Great food as well.

My last review was so bad, they took it off of here. That is how bad this place is, Owner never speaks to you does even say thank you when paying. But when all the landscapers come in he can speak Spanish to them.

This place isn’t as bad as the reviews say. It isn’t a great place to sit in and from the look of it it’s never been renovated and probably been open since the 80s. But I just look past that because the menu is a little cheaper than the other places around here, and the food is ok. I’d recommend avoiding anything deep fried as the food tends to be pretty greasy, but I’ve had the chicken/beef/shrimp with broccoli and those types of dishes are always good. The pork fried rice is also possibly the best I’ve had in the area, though it too is a little greasy. I suspect this place does well with the local colleges, and overall it’s decent. Not great, but decent.

The food is pretty much bottom-shelf Chinese take-out. You won’t hate it, but getting the same thing from just about anywhere else would be a smart choice. The real problem here is how nasty the store is. Nasty to the point where you wonder how it could ever have gotten that bad. When I picked up my order, I watched as the kid in the back(not wearing gloves, though that by itself isn’t necessary bad) leaned meagerly away from a sauté pan to sneeze, uncovered, into the air. Then just went back and kept cooking. Kind of says it all. I recommend China Fan in New prov, Garden Rice in Chatham, or Chen’s.

Plus — Very edible chicken fried rice & beef w/broccoli. Like others have said, this is not a gourmet meal, but they are one of the few places that deliver. Minus — took an hour after the guy said 35 minutes. My kid was gnawing on the furniture. Had to call and then they were there in 5 minutes.

Worst Chinese food in this part of New Jersey. You walk in here and it looks like a subway station bathroom. Nothing looks like it’s been cleaned in years, and this include food prep areas. Food is either oversalted to the point where you’d think they were drying to dry cure sesame chicken, or just slimy and disgusting. Delivery takes forever. Go to China Chalet in Florham Park, or Garden Rice in Chatham. Do not come here.

Do not eat here. Heard stories about how filthy this place is from people who work on the health board.
