I honestly loved living here, and really never had any problems. I had one roommate in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment and the price was very reasonable. I also LOVED having covered parking(not heated, but still a lifesaver in the snowy winter). It was also nice having the office right on site and it was open on Saturdays. Kristi in the office is always super cheerful and friendly. I think we lived in one of the recently updated apartments so it may have been nicer than others. All the appliances were nice and worked great. Our microwave didn’t work right when we moved in but they fixed it right away. Whenever we had something that needed to be repaired(which was only a couple of times) they fixed it within just one day. Finally, you CANNOT beat this location. It’s right on the bay of Lake Monona and is right next to a couple bike paths which I loved since I’m a runner. It’s beautiful especially in the summer and fall. The central area has lots of plants and flowers and there’s even some sort of community garden planted in the park next to it. It’s about a 15 – 20 minute walk to the main bars and restaurants downtown(State Street area) which was fine with me, especially because we weren’t really near undergraduate students so we didn’t usually have issues with loud parties or anything. AND there’s a pool which is awesome although gets very crowded on weekends. Overall I had zero major issues(one negative I would have to say is the hallways look kind of dirty and outdated and often smelled like cigarette smoke even though the apartments are supposed to be non-smoking). I would definitely recommend these apartments for anyone in their 20s.

I’m not sure if this is for the right set of apartments or not. I lived at the CHT-run«Parkview Apartments» that are on West Washington and Regent(Proudfit). I don’t think they have an alternate location… but if this is wrong, then disregard it. :) I *loved* living here. Despite the high-traffic intersection location, it was magically pretty quiet inside the apartment. We could see the Capitol building from our kitchen dining room window. There were lots of windows in our corner apartment for maximum cross-breeziness. The apartment had beautiful wood floors, 1 ½ bathrooms(one of which was located in my bedroom) and spacious bedrooms. The kitchen had lots of cabinet space, but was a bit outdated looking, but that’s not too rare in Madison. Extra bonus? Beautiful, well-maintained courtyard – with a pool! The management was unlike any other that I’ve encountered in Madison. They were unbelievably responsive to any maintenance requests we had(and there were few, since the apartments were well kept). On the morning of my move-in day, my refrigerator began to make a noise that sounded like an airplane taking off. It didn’t stop all day. Because it was a Sunday and they couldn’t get the parts they needed, they apologized profusely and told me they’d take care of it the next day. I came home from work the following afternoon and… BRANDNEWREFRIGERATOR. That’s amazing. Any time we had problems with sinks or toilets, they were there within a few hours to fix it. The lady who ran the office(Kristie, I think her name was), was the most polite and friendly customer service person I’ve ever met. She remembered who each tenant was, which I thought was remarkable. Given the prime location and general loveliness, I would even go so far as to say that these apartments aren’t too overpriced. I think we were paying about $ 900/month for a spacious two-bedroom, with all utilities included, except electricity(and heat wasn’t electric). Woohoo for Parkview!
