I’m going to be generous and say that 75% of the time they screw my order up. And I’m not ordering a complicated order. I ask for soy milk and no whipped cream. Clearly that would signal to someone without rocks for brains that someone may have a dairy intolerance. Yet ¾ of the time, there’s the whipped cream on top, and then they sigh like I’m causing them trouble asking them to correct my order that is wrong. And then they ask if they can just scrape it off the top. Unfortunately this is the only Starbucks close to me.

The barista that took my order was very self centered and really made what he wanted me to have, in addition they also didn’t have any of their«signature drinks» they’re supposed to have including s’mores frapp and the peppermint swirl. Very disappointed especially for a coffee shop that’s in downtown MADISON.

Lovely, environment when you go inside Starbucks. Always, polite never rude. Orders are correct when asked. I love just going relaxing with my coffee.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not Starbucks I dislike… It’s the pretentious customers. I’ve seen the baristas berated one too many times by someone who just paid $ 7 for a cup of flavored water. Who is the stupid one in this transaction?

I live in Madison and work just down the block from Starbucks… however I avoid this coffee shop at all costs. The line is always ridiculously slow. At most, there’s just 2 baristas working at a time… someone is always going on break. Before I learned better, I would make sure I had 20 – 25 minutes to get my coffee before I would head to work. I used to try to order a black iced coffee in the summers and a café mocha in the winters. I’ve learned to stop ordering anything there but a hot coffee which I can get right at the register. It’s just ridiculous. If Starbucks right outside of Grand Central can have effective time management, Starbucks of Madison CT should be able to as well.

Busy but good. It was a bit small. We stopped here on a road trip. They got our orders correct but the cashier and barista seemed a bit overwhelmed.

So two attempts and a quick sharp turn later, I finally figured out how to get into this lot. What a bizarre layout for a plaza and the parking area has no defined right of way for traffic, it’s just cars driving down lanes and hoping that you don’t run into another coming from the other side. But alas, it’s not about the lot — they didn’t design it. This Starbucks was a bit lackluster for me. The interior is claustrophobic(one of the most common themes at Starbucks) and the staff took my order and made it, but didn’t stand out. No one smiled or seemed to enjoy working with each other. It was just methodical and ordinary. I imagine you can count on them at least making your drink quickly and efficiently because there was zero banter or chatter going on at this place. It was«What can I get for you?» followed by a swipe of my card and that was it. I wasn’t even asked if I wanted my receipt. *shrugs* Can’t complain, but can’t rave either I guess.

Be prepared to wait and hope that your drink is right. As a resident of Madison, my fiancé and I have visited this Starbucks frequently in order to pop in for a quick coffee. However, it seems like there is always a line that seems to stretch out the door regardless of the time of day. I used to think it was because they were busy but they are really just slow. On top of that, we have had trouble with a few of our orders being made correctly. With a local, award winning coffee shop down the road, I would avoid this place.

I went yesterday and in my Cotten candy frap they didn’t even grind my ice all the way. It was gross and when I asked for a new one they took 15 min!

Nothing special. Same as every other location. This one is quite entertaining because it’s full of Madison sophisticate wannabes who’s «I’m so rich» act is so phony it’s comical. Great entertainment really. The three stars are only for the entertainment value. I grew up in this town and while most of the real wealth has given way to the new«I make 100k a year! I’m rich» delusional idiots, Madison is still a pretty good town. But the fakers are everywhere. 100k wouldn’t last me six months in Boston.

I usually encounter slow but friendly service here, with the drinks always tasty. My barista today, Brittany, was very unfriendly and seemed perturbed that I ordered an ice water along with my cappuccino. I will continue to come back due to convenience, but would appreciate more friendly service in the future.

This was a nice Starbucks along the CT shore that we encountered on our recent trip. After leaving our motel in the morning, we picked up my requisite bag of Dunkin Donuts near the morel and then drove with them to this Starbucks, 3 miles down the coast road. Thank you, wonderful internet, for allowing both the Starbucks and DD websites and Unilocal to help me locate these favorites in advance, while planning the trip. It was a great start to a long day of wandering beaches, docks, parks and seeing friends. They did a great job on the drinks, the patio was really nice, both in location and furnishings, compared to the more urban options I am used to.

This is definitely one of the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to. I can’t really say anything about the food or drinks because they’re pretty much what you’d expect from any other Starbucks. On the other hand, the service and atmosphere are terrible. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon only because I had a coupon for a drink. Otherwise I would have gone to Willoughby’s, which is down the street and about 100 times better. First of all, the place was completely packed. There were no empty tables and the line was out the door. People were just standing everywhere waiting for their orders. I understand that it does take a while to make the drinks when it is busy but I waited for 30 minutes, no joke, for a latte. As I was waiting, I realized it was taking so long because several orders were made incorrectly and had to be redone. Also, the place is so small that it felt extremely claustrophobic with everyone standing around. With all of this in mind, I would most likely not come back here especially with better places like Willoughby’s and the RJ Julia Café right down the street.

Came to this Starbucks location to put in a few hours of uninterrupted work this past Sunday. So many people! Yeah, it was a beautiful weekend day on the shore so I should have expected it to be loud and with lots of people coming in and out. Outside of NYC this is the busiest Starbucks I have been to(maybe with the exception of the West Hartford Center location). Then I realized, many of these people are probably New Yorkers. While I appreciate the baristas enthusiasm and spirit, they contributed to the unpleasant noise level, practically yelling to eat other and customers in the loudest voices possible. My thoughts: wish the library had been open. It was my first time at this location and it’s not bad. The Wi-Fi works just fine and there are plenty of spots to park the laptop down and get stuff done. Couches by the door were all occupied when I arrived, the bar along one window was available, and further in there were bunch of tall bistro style tables then some lower regular height tables closer to the wall. Not overly clean in here but not not terribly unclean either. Typical updated Starbucks décor. Agree with reviewer Ben T. that would have wanted more natural lighting, but took a seat next to a window to try to get as much of the sunshine through that as possible. If you are sensitive to cold, you should know there was a constant draft coming through the vents the entire time I was here. It was 75 degrees out but could not have been more than 50 degrees in here with a constant cold air blowing. I was freezing. Bring a sweater or dress in layers. Nice outdoor area with a good amount of seating if you want to catch some sun while sipping your drinks. This Starbucks is alright and I will probably be back but only if other options aren’t available.

There is nothing out of the ordinary here as it is a Starbucks. Never had a problem with the service, and the employees are very nice. I usually get just get a regular drip coffee, and they seem to have one of the best strong cups of coffee around. I tried the other shops, and they seem to be a little milder than Starbucks. I prefer a bolder cup of coffee so Starbucks usually beats out the other guys for me.

I wanted to review this Starbucks because I think it is a decent coffee shop. It has a great seating arrangement whereas most Starbucks in NYC I think do not. The servers are also friendly and prompt which is important. The one aspect about the place I would change is the lighting as there is not enough natural light in the place because there are not enough windows. I think it’s important that people in Madison support the local coffee shops and not just go to the nearest Starbucks. It is convenient to be able to order the exact same drink you have acquired a taste and appreciation for anywhere you go. It will be boring though if, in the future all we are left with are Starbucks and Dunkin’ Doughnuts because those are the only coffee shops people support and the others are marginalized and go out of business.
