Ordered Dorito taco box. 6 Fiery, 6 Nacho. Cashier was annoyed, though she was polite, she should just quit her job cause you can see it in her face. Went home 20 minutes away and opened 9 ranch and 3 nacho. Fail.

I have never before seen a Taco Bell staff so put-together. Actually, I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a staff this put-together. These guys are great. After months of subpar, cold, greasy slop from the other Taco Bell here in Madison, I was shocked by a total of zero possible complaints from this location. The food was hot, fresh, fast, amply-seasoned, meaty, and amazingly-well balanced. You’d think Taco Bell has a basic, minimal formula that all restaurants are required to follow, and that none of them are encouraged or even expected to go above that baseline. Whether or not that’s true, Taco Bell in North Madison is running things on their own standard, and it’s a high one. We ordered through the drive-thru. We selected nachos for me, a gordita meal and burrito for my roommate, and I was undecided on my last item. I asked about the new«rolled tacos,» which are really just taquitos that they dread associating with the flour tortilla-wrapped disappointment from a few years back, and joked with the drive thru associate about my indecision with the sauces. I told her I had commitment issues with so many options available. She said she could make the decision for me. Spicy ranch was her dip of choice. I’ve really gotta say, that stuff goes good on everything.(She was so convinced that I would like it, that she offered me a second serving of the sauce, which I later used on homemade shrimp tacos. If you’re wondering, they married with the ranch perfectly.) When we pulled up the the window, the lady at the window took our payment. She swapped out for a white male, who delivered our drinks, and then a black male delivered our food, all in rapid succession. They seemed synchronized, and they all appeared to be in high spirits, each taking the time to greet us individually with a smile. We were impressed, and once we realized how well-prepared the food was, we told them so. Ordinarily, when you tell a restaurant they did well, they thank you and expect you to move along. Not this Taco Bell. The staff asked us to complete a survey with our experiences, and if we reported back with a confirmation screen, they offered a small reward for our time. The«reward» came in the form of one piping hot, gooey empanada. Again, the best we’ve had from Taco Bell. If you’re looking for a good Taco Bell in Huntsville/Madison, do yourself a favor and drive out here.

Order was wrong, clerk was untrained, the trip was nothing but crap. We went to Taco Bell after T-Mobile. I asked for 3 chicken tacos with LETTUCEONLY, and when we got to the window, the drive-thru clerk was stuttering and obviously didn’t know what the hell he was doing. At the dock or whatever you call the thing before the window, we had to give the clerk our order multiple times, and were at the drive-thru for like at least 15 minutes, and there was barely a line. And when we got home, all 3 of my tacos had chicken and lettuce but was DRENCHED in mayo, cheese, tomatoes, and other shit I hate. I was reluctant to even touch it. Ridiculous. Not going back. Tell me if I can get a refund or something. Too bad it’s the closest Taco Bell to our house. And not to mention, one month, they got our order wrong 3 F***INGTIMES! Worst Taco Bell I’ve ever been to. Untrained, dumbass employees.

I just can’t give Taco Bell more than three stars, but Taco Bell is great. I rarely come here, but you know, sometimes you just need some Taco Bell. For me, it’s a Baja Chalupa. Mmmm mmmm that Baja sauce is something positive for the world. The staff here is well trained. Every time I have been here they always greet you with a friendly«How are you?» over the speaker. Even if trained, it’s still nice. Props to Taco Bell for getting a new sign after the April ’11 tornados ripped their old one to shreds. The rest of the building is tired looking, but that sign is a beacon of light leading you to the delciiousness within. It isn’t often anymore that I allow myself to eat something terrible for me, but Taco Bell is worth it.

So what if there meat is mostly oats? I wasn’t heading through that driveway assuming I was getting top notch beef in my tacos anyway. Sometimes I just get a craving for Taco Bell. The menu remains pretty cheap and the service is fast and friendly. There are also multiple lower calorie options if you pay attention to what you order. Is it high quality authentic Mexican food? Heck no, but I don’t care!
