The tacos are perfect I can’t wait to go back and try something els and their menudo is also great! It’s hard finding restaurants that make good menudo and Mexican foods I just wish it was closer but then again if it was I would gain more weight then I need to lol!

I’ve only had their breakfast tacos but they are delicious! Every time I come home my parents get me my breakfast taco fix from here. Horchata and the chips and salsa are good too. They only thing I would say is if you want to order to go, call it in and then drive to get it. It does take a bit.

Authentic Mexican food. Fresh hot coffee, amazing salsas, clean family atmosphere. We drove 30 minutes to get here and we will definitely come back.

The food is alright, better than some… But beware of dirty dishes. My family and I decided to stop in a grab a bite on Sunday afternoon, we asked for an extra plate, the one they brought to us still had food stuck to it, I pointed it out to the waitress, she apologized, took the plate away and brought us another, the second plate even had stuck on food… Yuk we decided to leave, we waved the waitress down and told her we were ready to pay our ticket. It took almost 30mins before she even brought one to us, and it was more than what we figured(our calculated price with tax $ 24.32, the ticket came out $ 27.88) we came to the conclusion that the tip was added. And I’m the type of tipper that starts out at 20% and then work down based on type of service.

Love the place. Food is good and the service is friendly and usually fast. They do get a little busy on the weekends, but still it is not bad. This place is a carbon copy of a place in Tomball called El Emperador, probably owned by the same people. I have had the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners there and have never got a bad meal there.

5 de Mayo used to be my favorite place in Magnolia… Before they started serving old food, just ordered a gordita w/fajita. Sorry, but fresh fajita meat doesn’t look anything like what I got. Only a picture would describe it, but, I dont want to make you sick. and… it had enough grease to lube an old rusty tractor. Enjoy! if you dont mind left-overs…

Great authentic recipes for a reasonable price. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had here. In a town with multiple tex mex restaurants, keep driving until you arrive at the front door of cinco de mayo!

Good food and friendly service! The salsa and chips are the best they give it to you warm… that makes it even better! Never disappointed when I eat here!

Best breakfast tacos I’ve found:) Customer service is fantastic — the wait staff are all super friendly(and our family includes and 7 and 4 year old). Wonderful coffee, fast service, great warmed salsa(yum), great beef soup. Really, everything I’ve tried has been fantastic. We now include it in our Saturday morning ritual:)

In the small town of Magnolia lies an exceptionable gem by the name of 5 De Mayo. I’ve been a regular patron of this authentic Mexican eatery since their grand opening several years ago and it immediately became my favorite. Not only because the food is always fresh, fast and delicious, but also because that from the moment I walk in the door, I feel like I’m coming home. The service is that warm, caring and friendly. 5 de Mayo is a very rare commodity in today’s hustle and bustle world. I highly recommend visiting this establishment any and every time you can for that«home away from home» feeling and food!

Have stopped in 10+ times. The food is usually good. NEVER stop in for weekend breakfast, you’ll wait 45+ minutes for eggs. Menudo, seven days a week, but mostly broth. They charge $ 1 extra for chopped jalapeño/serrano and another $ 1 for hominy(flavorless, added in at last minute). UPDATE: We stopped going there. Service has gone downhill and parked at rude. Rude doesn’t bother me but your food better rock!

Stopped in for afternoon lunch on our way from The a Woodlands to Austin. I got taco salad with extra tortillas to make my own tacos. Salsa and queso was pretty good together. The tortillas were definitely fresh and not too greasy like some home-made tortilla places I’ve been to. Service: 5⁄5 Value(food/price): 5⁄5 Atmosphere: 5⁄5 Would go again.

Décor is definitely not like a Mexican place but the food is fast and good. I don’t know if everything is made before hand until served or what but it comes out quick or in the drive thru. I’ve heard their breakfast is what they are known for but haven’t experienced it yet. Service is alright but be prepared to take second place to closing duties as it seems those take precedence over customers.
