I have rented a walk behind brush hog from HD several times earlier and had a good experience. HOWEVER, that changed when I rented a 20″ chainsaw that had a chain that extremely dull. Short story is they would not admit to sending it out with a dull chain and they were extremely argumentative on the phone and in the store when I returned the saw. Their customer skills were horrible and it escalated into a shouting match with them trying to intimidate me. In the end they agreed to refund the charges only after I said I would dispute the charge through my credit card company. They also refused to check my rental history to see that I had a good history with them and was not just crying wolf to get a free rental. They also said they will never rent to me again. LOL. Like I would even come back. Bye bye HD

Although I love the store — the people who give advice sometimes give one that is totally off…

Everyone was here buzzing around filling up their carts with fruit trees. I saw pear, oranges, pomegranate, apple, lime, pecan… flowering trees-​lots of fun stuff to buy in the garden area! Lots of help when you ask and super friendly service! I’m coming back for more trees!

Went to get blinds cut and Jayme was on her computer. She asked me to go to the back isle and wait for her. After 20 mins I grew impatient and came back to see where she was. She was sitting at her desk gossiping about someone that yelled at her and then proceeded to play on her phone and talk to a co-​worker. I was furious and walked out. I am extremely annoyed right now.

The lack of customer service skills in the paint department is appalling!
I get that punch in punch out employees don’t give a rip, but at least pretend to make an effort to assist customers.
I really loathe these big box places and that includes Lowes. They have ruined our country’s landscape one community at a time. Mom and Pop shops tragically have no chance.
Yes, sure they have most of the things you need, but I never feel like they offer any real deals and it’s all mainstream average to low quality products.
Home Depot is ALWAYS, ALWAYS ALWAYS understaffed in EVERY department especially during peak hours. It boggles the mind.
I feel half sorry for the harried employees who are getting the evil eye from impatient customers circling them like vultures on a kill, but then I think that HD sets them up for failure by inadequately training and under staffing sections. Not to mention customers should always come first. CALL FOR BACK UP!
Their plants are pitiful and low grade. PLEASE STOP carrying plants that are not native and promoting them for yard landscaping! This is Texas and you should be required to supply vegetation that can survive our wacky temps or prominently display signs notating delicates that are only meant for cooler climates or indoors.
Their lighting department is paltry and cheap quality.
Don’t get me started on their flooring or tile UGH!
Builder grade fixtures and cabinets NO THANKS!
Everything is soooo generic because they try to cater to the masses and yet not even all that affordable.
Oh yes of course I can take the time to special order something, but I can do that online on my own with less hassles and probably more assistance then I will EVER see in any HD store.
The only friendly people are the greeters as you walk in and the cashiers as you walk out feeling robbed every time, and thats about where it ends.
I will say the Conroe store does have more floating employees that bother to ask if we need help, but this doesn’t apply to Magnolia’s store.
I hope it was just an off day, but me thinks not.

Everything you want or need and if you can’t find it employees know where stuff is and they actually WANT to help you! No really! I’m NOT kidding. Even if the question seems ridiculous to you.
Garden center’s plants are healthy and vibrant. I have never needed to use their guarantee about plants staying alive.
