I always find a new restaurant to take my wife for Valentine’s Day each year. We decided to check this place out. Once again we are batting 1000 on Valentine’s Day restaurant choices. The ambience is cozy as well as very classic. Gorgeous light fixtures, cloud painted ceiling, perfect lighting for evening dinner. It’s very nice that it’s on the lake however it was obviously frozen but nonetheless would be excellent for summer. They had a small fireplace in the dining room as well. Percy on guitar provided live music at a surprisingly reasonable volume level given the dining room is a little quaint it was not too loud and we can have a good conversation. Staff was very friendly, our waiter was always checking on us not overbearing at all. He was a man of few words, but his actions were spot on throughout the entire dining experience. Appetizers on the menu look pretty plain Jane, but they were in fact really tasty. I recommend the shrimp cocktail they were huge! They had a nice wine list even though we brought our own and they charge a small corkage fee which I prefer because a lot of restaurants do not give you that option. Cocktail list was creative, I tried a lemon cello Rita. Tequila heavy but was not complaining about that LOL. Dinner was brought out and tasted terrific we had veal and lamb chops. We shared a small Belgian chocolate cake for dessert and had an after dinner drink as well that were all very good. To end our night the chef came out table by table and asked about the food and the dining experience which I always give credit for. When we received our bill, the waiter brought my wife a longstem red rose as well for Valentine’s Day a terrific finishing touch! We plan on going back in the summertime where I’m sure it will be nice on the water and try some of their other menu options as well.

My BF just moved to Mahopac and this was our first night out. This place blew us away. Our server was professional and accommodating. We had the burrata salad which was amazing. The bread and oil mix was like nothing we’ve ever tasted. It’s a secret recipe which will def keep us coming back! I had the veal Sinatra with homemade pasta. All I can say is O M G! My BF had the pork brajole special filled with provolone and pancetta. He was extremely satisfied with his meal. Throughout our entire meal all we could keep saying to each other was how good this was! We had the tiramisu for dessert. So delicious. From beginning to end, our meal was perfect. I never felt rushed and everything was timed well. We can’t wait to come back… and soon!

Outstanding. Came here for the first time last week and it was delicious. The restaurant has a romantic feel to is with a warm cozy fireplace, low 60s oldies music, and friendly staff. We were one of five tables on a lousy, rainy, Friday night. I did not feel that the other tables were interfering with our conversation it felt like we were the only couple in the room. The muscles appetizer we had was delicious. So much flavor to them. Also, the pasta dinners were great. Fedelini Lagastino which had Baby lobster that was cooked perfectly, so much flavor. Also, the chicken Scarpariello which was served over Risotto was also very good. The prices may seem high to some people but you are defiantly paying for your portion as well as delicious flavor. Great restaurant overall.

While pulling into the parking lot on a busy Sunday night, the owner just happened to be outside. We were debating whether or not to eat there since it seemed crowded & one of my friends was in the mood for chicken parm which wasn’t on the menu. The owner was so kind & gracious(Victor)and told us he would make it for her & that he would get us a table outside on the water. The food was wonderful as was the ambiance. We were so glad we stayed because we enjoyed every minute of it.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Great menu and delicious food with great view. We were very happy with it all. Great bread, specials and pasta. Our one deduction was the fact that the food came out piping hot. We had to wait a few minutes for it to be ready to eat. We recommend that the restaurant waits a few minutes before giving the food, or hat you hold off on digging in. Otherwise it is a great experience.

We went to il Laghetto for dinner this evening, the location is great and the service was excellent from the minute that we walked into the door until we left. The food was excellent! The Eggplant Rollantini was delicious, as was the Veal Sinatra! The infused olive oil served with the awesome bread was so good that I asked the waiter if they sold it by the bottle. We can’t wait to go back again soon. My wife enjoyed her peach cosmo and the pama rita that I had was also awesome. Our waiter Scott was also very professional. personable, and attentive without being overbearing, making our dining experience there that much better! All of the staff there was great and we enjoying eating outside and listening to the live music that they had tonight. The owner and his team know how exactly what they’re doing! Be certain to go there and give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

I recently held my daughter’s graduation party here. I liked that they had the private room that opens up to the lake. Service was fabulous. I liked that they stayed on top of everything and made sure all was going as planned. They always checked with me as to when to serve next course. etc. Guests were happy and we were happy that all went well. It was easy to work with Sergio, the event manager. We had the chimichurri steak and salmon and both were delicious. The chicken quesadillas were also pretty tasty I hope to come back for before summer is over and enjoy a relaxing dinner on the lake.

I’ve eaten here for lunch twice recently and it was fabulous and the service was great. The waitress – Nina? was a pleasure and very accomodating. We loved the lobster club sandwiches and everything was delivered in a timely matter and presented well. The view is amazing and I’ve eaten inside and al fresco and loved both. The owner came over to our table during one of our visits and was very engaging and pleasant. Reading over the reviews it appears that il Laghetto might be experiencing growing pains but we did not notice if that is indeed the case. I’m sure its crazy at night just because of its prime location. I am looking forward to returning!

I was there for lunch on Friday & really enjoyed my lunch. The food was good & the service was great BUT I think the popcorn on the table is tacky… Please instead do some oil dipping with bread… This isn t a childs birthday party with the popcorn…

We went to Il Laghetto twice, once with family from out of town and with local friends. It’s probably the best restaurant that has been in location so far, and we have seen this spot turn over a few times already. This is a great spot, especially once the weather turns and you can enjoy the outside seating on the lake. Now about the food, both times we had the Calamari, the traditional and tempura and we prefer the traditional but it’s not saying the tempura wasn’t good but it was more like a beer batter than a traditional tempura. My wife is sold on the lobster ravioli, hand made and cooked to perfection with a thick vodka sauce. I had Risotto Pescatore the first time and Veal Piccata the second time, both were excellent and cooked perfectly. The seafood dish was huge and had to bring a good portion of it home but the homemade ravioli that comes with most dishes are really perfectly made and a must try. The dishes that friends and family had all came back with rave reviews and everyone left full and happy. Great place to eat, try to sit outside if possible however I assume the boat traffic could get noisy in the summer.

Went saturday night for dinner, great dining experience. We waited a little longer than usual but we didnt have a reservation so was to be expected. We were given a free round of drinks to compensate for our wait. Staff was great, food was GREAT, definitely worth the wait! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We’ve heard ok things about this place but decided to give it a try for lunch today. This was our first time and last. Horrible experience !! We arrived around 1:30 and didn’t leave till 3(not by choice). When we walked in there was a gentle man sitting at bar on his cell. He noticed us but ignored us. We stood there for a few minutes when We were nicely greeted by I’m assuming the bus girl. She was a sweetheart ! She was friendly and came around to fill our glasses of water. The waiter was also friendly. That was the only positive thing. We ordered off the restaurant week menu. The selection was not to bad. There were maybe 4 tables and everything took so long in between courses. Our appetizers took about 15 minutes. Really ?! I just had the salad. It looked like someone just threw it on the plate. It was a horrible presentation with old, shriveled lettuce. After another long wait our meals came out. I had the chicken Marsala. It was rough and extremely salty. I informed the waiter we were really unhappy and just wanted to leave at this point. He offered me anything and I settled on pasta which came out on a little bread plate. Really !!! He asked us what we wanted for dessert. We both ordered the bread pudding. It was tasty till I was about to take a bite and saw something brown sticking out. I freaked out and thought it was a bug. I waited and did not see any servers so I bought my plate up to the bar to the gentleman who I assumed was the manager and politely explained the situation. He had no idea what it was but was very rude about it. He was on his cell the same time he was taking to me. Rude! I was surprised when the bill came. I expected something to be taken off. The waiter did offer shots. We politely declined since we do not drink. Nothing ! I offered to pay for the dessert but he informed is it would have been more expensive. Whatever. At this point we both just wanted to leave. The manager didn’t even come over. He was to busy chatting away on his cell. Overall our experience was horrible. We still gave the waiter a good tip. It wasn’t his fault. We wasted $ 50 on what was supposed to be a nice lunch out. Horrible food ! Horrible management ! Horrible tummy aches !

We dined here for an early dinner last night(3⁄15) as il Laghetto is participating in HVRW. They had an extensive HVRW menu, which I always love to see. Hubby started with the mussels and I opted for the fried calamari. The calamari was crispy and not chewy, but the breading style wasn’t for me. It was tempura like and not what I typically go for. The mussels were really good and both portions were enormous! For dinner I opted for the lobster ravioli in the vodka sauce and hubs got the boneless porkchops with mashed potatoes and asparagus. They make their own pasta and it showed. The ravioli were delicious! For dessert we got the white chocolate bread pudding and the cheesecake. We weren’t fans of the bread pudding as it was VERY dense, but the cheesecake was light and super fluffy. They also provided coffee and/or tea with dessert. Service was great and we loved our waiter. There weren’t many diners while we were there, but Sunday’s tend to be slower overall. They also provide truffled popcorn AND bread at the table. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying some other homemade pasta dishes and enjoying the views of the lake!

We always enjoyed The Terrace Club and were surprised when it changed owners. However we are happy to report that under new ownership the food, service and atmosphere were just as good, if not better! We will continue to make this our«go to» restaurant when we’re in The Hudson Valley. Looking forward to Spring/summer when the lake is thawed!

Went for Valentine’s Day with my wife. Place was packed even during a snow storm which tells me something right off the bat. It’s a relatively new restaurant and the service showed. Wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t great. The dining area is divided into two main spaces separated by a door. Our waiter had tables on both sides and we felt somewhat ignored upon our arrival. We waited a long time to order drinks and had to ask for a basket of bread. Once the meal kicked off, everything was very good. Had the fried calamari appetizer. It could have been cooked a little more. The outside was not crispy and the inside was very rubbery. I ordered the Veal Sinatra which was very, very good. The veal was tender and flavorful, just what I would expect. I was however expecting fresh string beans as part of the dish. They seemed to be the frozen ones out of a bag. Overall the dish was very good. My wife had the shrimp scampi and she said it was one of the best versions she’s ever had. We would definitely go back, but in the summer time to enjoy the lake views. Hopefully they have their service straightened out by then.
