I’ve been coming here for a year solely based on its convenience. My routine is to pick up a coffee at Dunkin, and pop in here for a mediocre everything bagel. Today was like any other day, until I was kicked out of Bagel Express for having an unauthorized cup of Dunkin in the store. Here’s a tip for bagel lovers: Bagel Train is a short half mile up the street. They have authentic New York style bagels and lovely, friendly service. Always go there. Bagel Express may be more convenient as it’s not as crowded as Bagel Train but doesn’t that tell us something? Here’s a tip for the owner of Bagel Express: I don’t buy bagels at Dunkin cause I don’t like them. I don’t buy coffee at your place cause it’s crap. But if we are being honest, so are your bagels and attitude.

Bagels are OK. There not your typical big, doughy bagel. Prices seem high for a bagel with one topping. IE: cream cheese, or any other spread. There sandwiches are decent. One thing that bothers me is, they don’t always wear gloves, when they handle food. I don’t want anyone handling my food with bare hands. Much prefer bagel train in Suffern.

They do have great bagels but there is no organization because of the way the store is laid out. You walk in place an order from whoever comes tothe counter. Then you dont know where to go next. The owner has no customer service skills whatsoever! This place could increase their revenue exponentially if they just changed the ordering system.

Rude and uncalled for behavior by, I think, the owner. Not sure, but based on everyone else waring aprons and this guy not, I figured. I’ve been to this place in the past and really had no problems. And I never write reviews, but need to this time. Anyway, waited about 10 minutes(place was crowded) before I could place my order(egg and cheese on a bagel). No problem there. After about 4 minutes, I see the cook place my bagel on a counter behind the main counter. He kept trying to get the owners attention to let him know that it was there and ready, but the owner was working with another customer. This customer had a large order so my sandwich sat there for another 2 minutes or so. Still, no problem. When the owner was collecting cash from the customer in front of me, the cook brought the sandwich to the front counter but did not get the owners attention. When finished, the owner asked for the next customer. I interjected and pointed to my sandwich sitting next to him on the counter and said, «Excuse me, can I please get my sandwich before you help another customer.» To which he responded, «I can help or do anything I want.» He then proceeded to toss my sandwich in the trash, looked at me and said, «Goodbye!» What a DICK! Totally uncalled for. I was just stunned and didn’t know what to say. It escalated so quickly. I just turned and walked out. Thought about knocking over the stand with all the potato chips on it, but didn’t want to be «that guy.» I just left. Will never go back. And in retrospect, I think it’s better I didn’t eat the sandwich. I’m not saying this just because I was scorned, but I really did see this happen while I was waiting. The cook was transferring some eggs and cheese(not my sandwich) from the grill to the counter behind him to place on a bagel. After he lifted the eggs with the spatula, he used his other, bare(no glove) hand and put it on top of the eggs to make sure it didn’t slip off when he transferred it. Bare hands on the food! I think seeing that was enough to make sure I never go back to that place again!

Everything is good here, especially if your a soup person. All home made, always fresh. Everything is good. Bagels, breakfast, lunch. I’m picky about where I’ll go. It must be clean and this is the cleanest bagel shop/deli I’ve been in. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s a little more costly than others in the area but you cannot compare the others. You DO get what you pay for. If you couldn’t tell, I love this place.

Came here for a pre-work breakfast. This place is great! You can see right into where and how they make their bagels. It’s actually really cool! Their breakfast food is really delicious. I got a classic egg, ham, and cheese on a bagel and it was fantastic. They are not stingy on how much food they give you too. The place is also really clean and for a busy breakfast crowd, the line moved relatively fast.

Rudest and most obnoxious service I have ever experienced. I called to place an order over the phone and the guy was so mean and told me I was wasting his time. When I asked him what flavors of cream cheese he has, he hung up on me. I kept trying to call back and he wouldn’t pick up. I would not support this awful business with their negativity and rude and immature behavior. He ruined my day.

Delicious, New York bagels(while technically in Jersey). Always fresh and sandwiches cooked to order, Bagel Express is a great place to start off your morning with an awesome breakfast!(The bacon, egg, and cheese is my favorite). Highly recommended!

This place is pretty kick ass. They move the line fast and have great bagels and breakfast Sandy’s… The staff is friendly and the salads are very good. Faster service than bagel train but just a hair below bagel train’s quality of bagels. Otherwise this would be 5 stars. Go here often just so indent have to wait 30min at bagel train.
