Avis Rent A Car

The Good: Got a nice SUV for our staff retreat to South Carolina… was expecting a Suburban and ended up with a Lincoln Navigator. The staff working at the location were polite and friendly.
The Bad: This location is inside a Sheraton hotel with no signage to indicate that fact and the car we received was not cleaned when we got it.
The Ugly: The car had a «mykey» speed limitation on it which allowed it to go no faster than 80mph. This made driving on I95 very frustrating and challenging when the right lane had a cruising speed of 75mph and we needed to pass people. If I had known that the vehicle would have this restriction before I booked it I would have used a different company.
I am still waiting for a callback from a corporate supervisor to see if there is anything they can do to remedy the situation, but at this point I will no longer be using Avis to rent cars… I have used Hertz and Enterprise for years and have never experienced anything like that.

This rental center is located in the Sheraton hotel in Maitland. The office is near the back of the lobby in its own room and easy to miss if you’re not looking for it.
This location even has satellite radio that you can dock in any rental car.
I like this option better because a lot of times I rent cars that claim to have satellite radio but there is no subscription! How goofy is that?
Asa far as rental locations go, THIS is how it’s done! Other locations look and learn.. .
