Hmm. The coffee was ok typical Starbucks. But their system was down and you could only pay cash or room charge. This was announced to me before I even got to the counter. Total shout out. Ok cool no worries. But I noticed that everyone entering from the hotel got notified ASAP that the system was down. However, people coming from the outside were not told till after they got their coffee and it was given to them free. I sat here watching this over and over again. Obviously the girl new the system was down but was picking who paid and who didn’t. For me this reflects on the hotel since it’s inside of it. Loved my stay at the hotel however this will cause a lower star for them. :(

So apparently this is now the Connection Café inside the Sheraton. Starbucks products are still sold here, however additional food items not offered by Starbucks are offered as well. It’s really a win win situation with this change actually– more satisfying food items are being offered for those visiting the hotel, in addition to the Starbucks products we are all familiar with and love. The only downside.. .since it’s not technically a Starbucks anymore, you cannot use Starbucks gift or gold cards here.

I know I know, reviewing a Starbucks really? Well, yes, I am. Why you ask? Because even though Starbucks is known for their product and customer service, not each and everyone offers a smile along with a drink made the way you want. This location is just down right fabulous! The employees are always so nice and chat with you in the morning and send you off with an assurance that you will have a good day. What better way to start your morning? If you are into that caffeine with a pat on the back kinda treatment like I am. I first started going to this location in January of ’09 and I would only stop in 1 – 2 times a week. Then after the staff started getting to know me and have my order already started before the door shut behind me, I upped those trips to 3 times a week =) I am a SUCKER for good customer service and this Starbucks has got it! Please keep in mind this location is in the middle of a very business busy hotel so in the mornings sometimes they are packed but that never affects the friendliness of the staff. Funny story about this location, Tyler Hansbrough(Bball player for UNC and now NBA Pacers) was spending a week here during summer camps and I was joking with the staff about how I want a picture with him. Well, it happens to be that the next morning he walked in the lobby as I was leaving Starbucks and I was in such shock that I was too nervous to go say hi. Well, one of the gentlemen working at Starbucks talked me through it(i know, i know this sounds lame.) He told me that timing is everything and I should take a deep breath, he is only human and go say hi. So I did and Tyler was SO nice and I got a picture. On top of all the amazing customer services, they always get my order correct and on point as well as give me water on the side — SCORE!
