Overpriced little boutique. Most of the James Perse clothing and Keihls you can find at Nordstroms. There was really cute chan luu scarves and cute little luggage tags.

My absolute most favorite store on the island for their selection and their customer service! I love visiting this store in person when I’m in Makawao on vacation– their clothing, accessories and housewares are all carefully selected it’s hard to pick a favorite! And now that I’m back home, I follow their Instagram page for fashion inspiration. Recently the mercantile had posted a pic of some nsf shorts that I fell in love with and they were able to ship to me the next day. The gal on the phone was so incredibly pleasant and helpful– so nice to get such fabulous service and some stylish shorts that remind me of times on the beach in Maui! Can’t wait to be back!

This store is fantastic. It has excellent clothing. Everything is hand picked and perfect for an easy put together look. I’ve already called since I’ve been home and had things mailed to me… Oh yeah, did I mention the incredible customer service?
I think I found my favorite store on earth. If you love great style don’t miss this boutique.
I know where I’ll be shopping in Maui or on the main land.
Also, really cool handmade designer jewelry.

I LOVE this place. I’ve purchased everything from belts to jewelry to sweaters at the Mercantile bc they are just so high quality and reflect the buyer’s keen eye. My intro to Calleen Cordero (handmade leather goods that will knock your socks off) was here a few years ago, even though these products are made in LA and sold in SF, where I live. There’s plenty of good shopping in SF so I don’t need to come to Makawao to make fashion purchases, but every time I step foot in this store I realize how spot on the buyer is and I’m compelled by the dazzling and smart collections.

Small store. Small sizes. Small selection. Small on service (staff ignored us and focused on only one customer).
But huge prices. Ridiculously high prices for T-shirts, simple blouses, tops, and pants. (Even by tourism Hawaii standards the prices were out of line.)
If you are tiny with a huge wallet, then this may be your place. Not mine.
