The Hair Cafe

The Hair Café is a hidden gem nestled nearby Malden Center. The staff was incredibly gracious, and it is apparent the stylists have a loyal clientele base. They do everything from your run of the mill hair cut to more advanced hair dyes and cuts. The hospitality was what really blew me away at this salon. It’s been around for 30 years, and I can see why it’s been in business so long. I paid about $ 55 after tip for my hair trim. My stylist was incredibly friendly and receptive to my feedback on what I wanted to accomplish with my haircut. Not to mention, she offered me refreshments which is not very common at other hair salons. Be sure to call in advance as getting an appointment with such a busy salon can be a challenge. I will definitely be going back in the future!

I loved the ladies at the hair café. I went in as a newcomer to malden looking to chop off 9+ inches to donate. The ladies were incredibly supportive (if you’ve ever chopped that much hair you’d know that it could be traumatic without support!) and super friendly. Not only did they cut the ponytail, measure it, put it in a bag for me, but they also gave me a kickass short hair cut that looked sexy, age appropriate, and not at all butch (which was my concern). I would go back for my next chop if I’m still in Malden. I like the convenience.

The stylists at the Hair Café are warm, inviting and just simply lovely. Judy and Deb are so nice and make you feel instantly right at home. Judy is a hot ticket and Deb is a real doll. The salon is modern and clean. I got an emergency hair color on a Saturday after leaving a voicemail late Fri. Night. The color matched my ends perfectly and I was very pleased. They knew I had a facial booked for 2:15 in Medford and they had me out in perfect time. Go here and bring your Mum or your old Auntie with you! This salon is multigenerational and highly experienced. And they do waxing too! Will post my review of that once I book a session. Didn’t get a cut either but plan to on the basis of the high quality color. Anticipate greatness. Watch this space.. .

I love The Hair Café. I’ve been going since the Underground closed and almost all the hairdressers moved there! It’s so cozy, and inviting and always decorated beautifully for every holiday. I just liked them on facebook! I was there the other day and got a warm hand treatment it was so relaxing. :-)
