We stopped by for brunch this past Sunday and really enjoyed ourselves, although our meal wasn’t the best I’ve had. I ordered the Monte Cristo Breakfast Sandwich. It was a fun take on the traditional Monte Cristo, which makes a great brunch sandwich just as it is. This one was filled with scrambled eggs and cheddar. I also had a choice of bacon, ham or sausage. I had the bacon, which was chopped up and mixed into the scrambled eggs. There definitely could have been more bacon but otherwise a really good dish. My daughter had the Two Eggs with bacon, toast and Potato Hash. My meal also came with the Potato«Hash» and we were both disappointed by the fact that they were American Fries(large chunks of fried potatoes rather than something more hash, or hash brown like. They were tasty though and the caramelized onions with them were awesome. My wife ordered the Biscuits and Gravy. I opted out as the description called it «Red Eye Gravy.» I’m glad I did. What she got looked like it was standard Sausage Gravy with tomato paste added to it, and it had a strange taste to it. Now, I’ve lived, and cooked in a number of places down South and what I was taught is «Red Eye Gravy» is a thin gravy made from the drippings of pan fried country ham. The pan is then deglazed with a bit of coffee and just ever so slightly thickened. This was not Red Eye Gravy. Her biscuits were also a little on the dry side. While our meal wasn’t the greatest, I do want to try them out for lunch or dinner as I’ve heard good things about the place, and while our brunch wasn’t the best, I still feel that this place is worth another look or 2. My daughter did love spending time watching the goats being milked and watching the baby kids hang out. They have a viewing window so that you can watch, as you eat, if you so choose. We also met one of the owners daughters and she was very friendly and answered a number of questions we had. The café is attached to their shop and you would be remiss if you didn’t pick up any one of the great cheeses that come from their farm, or from any of the other local cheesemakers whose product they sell. This may not be the greatest review, but I have to admit that I am eager to head back and try some of their other food.

World class cheese and a nice café with fresh food that, obviously, features their cheeses. Burgers were fantastic(but note that the kids burger is disappointingly TINY). Try the honeycrisp grilled cheese. And while you’re at it, order a glass of goats milk!

Went to LaClare Farms Café for Sunday Brunch today and it was okay. Had the breakfast burrito and was hoping for some homemade pico de gallo or fresh summer veggies, but it was sausage and scrambled eggs in a big plain white flour tortilla with a side of sour cream and some really mild salsa. Only the brunch menu is available from 9 am to 2 pm on Sundays. It was decent, but if I go back, I’ll go when the regular menu is available. This place has their wonderful cheeses for sale in the shop and I’ve heard their cheeseburgers and beer battered cheese curds are very good. They had cheese and wine sampling going on the previous time I was there, and it was nice.

Wonderful restaurant We’ll be back. We stopped as part of our Rites of Spring: Fiber Frolic tour. Service was friendly. Great local root beer. My cheeseburger with goat cheddar was done to perfection and really tasty. My husband’s farm burger was as well. We picked up some cheese to take home on the way out. There’s a barn filled with goats off to the side. While we couldn’t go in, we could see what looked like hundreds of goats happily munching on hay.

Outstanding family business! Well run and great food. Have a great selection of micro brews, goat cheeses, and wines. Has a gift shop and restaurant. It is really a goat farm and cheese factory, so be sure to see the goat milking parlor! Will definitely be stopping for years to come!
