Tonight we returned to Bua Thai The second time around was even better! This time we invited my daughter-in– law and 16 month old granddaughter. As an entrée, my daughter-in– law had the Thai green curry with chicken. My husband had the pineapple thai rice, which he later drenched with the broth from the green curry, it was that good. I thoroughly enjoyed the thai rice with pork. The portions were huge! Each of us left the restaurant with tomorrow’s lunch. As an added bonus, the owner, Lek, asked if we had a coupon(found on ). We didn’t. However she graciously gave us a 20% discount off our entire order, and a bowl of fried ice cream on the house.

Over priced! You can’t be the most expensive Thai in the area and skimp on the quality. Pad Thai noodles were just a big lump with two pieces of shrimp and three pieces of chicken. Soap was the wrong kid and for $ 5 it was broth with a few prices of veg. Much better places 15 min away in Saratoga. It’s worth the drive.

This is the best sushi restaurant in the area. Everything is so fresh and flavorful… And the prices are right. They have an assortment of sake’s and beers to keep us quenched. I never leave disappointed + the service is top notch :)

Come on Malta! Give this place a chance! The food is really good. I was a little skeptical about the sushi since it doesn’t seem like the place gets a lot of traffic but it was really tasty. Tom yum was good. Seaweed salad good. Tuna Tataki was served over spinach and very good. Salmon avocado roll melted in your mouth. The sushi dinner for one seemed like a really good deal(15.99÷9 pieces and California roll) over of the ala carte(2.95 each). The sushi rice was just right and the fish was delicious tasting clean and fresh.. My daughter got the vegetable fried rice and it was really tasty. Fried banana and ice cream and fried ice cream desserts hit the spot. We’ll be back.

Bua Thai Sushi is a lesser competitor to other local competitors. We decided to give this place a shot since they are currently offering the $ 15 for $ 30 Local Flavor voucher. Despite being Saturday evening, this place was fairly dead and had only one other couple eating there. Our service was okay, so we had no complaints there. I ate their drunken noodle entrée, which was just all right. The menu listed it being very spicy, but it barely had any kick to it. The portion size was standard, and the price was a little high($ 14.95). I noticed the sushi and dinner specials are priced very high compared to similar restaurants in this area. I suppose this is a consequence of renting a spot within Ellsworth Commons, but it still doesn’t bode well for a solvent business model. TL;DR: Bua Thai Sushi is okay. It’s not anything spectacular, and the premium prices don’t make it very competitive unless you live in Ellsworth Commons and don’t want to drive.

Give it a try and you wont be dissapointed; especially if you have high expectations of what thai food should be. Havent had the sushi yet but I will definitely be going back for it. Ellsworth Commons residents– shame on you if you havnt tried Bua Thai yet

Clean restaurant. Convenient location. New manager helped to recommend something from the menu. We didn’t get any sushi(don’t care for it) but ordered something from the regular Thai offerings. WOW the food was absolutely fantastic! Authentic Thai flavor. Had the sticky rice for dessert and it too was excellent. Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I dined at Bua Thai in Malta last night and it was excellent. The restaurant is recently under new ownership/management with improvement noted in the food, service, and dining space. I had the pad see eew and my husband tried the pad thai. Both dishes were delicious and the large portions were enough for another meal. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the food and will definitely return soon.

Ordered sushi and hot food. Both were really disappointing. A complete waste of money

Clean and spacious restaurant, good location. Though it says Thai Food Restaurant, they mainly serve sushi, so more like Sushi Thai restaurant. Thai Salad was great. Raw salmon was very fish. Red Curry and Thai fried rice wad not authentic. I expect nice Thai Iced Tea but it didn’t come with condensed milk, so disappointed.

This place resides in a complex of apartments that is barely visible from the street. The parking consists of 4 curb spots on each side of the road so this in itself is highly unattractive. My coworker and I came in to eat for lunch and was seated immediately. There were only about 4 other parties in here so wasn’t busy at all. Not sure what the holdup was, but they took forever before the waitress even came by to take our order. Once she did, they hide in the back and don’t even come out. I wanted to ask her if the Pad Thai came in different spice levels bc I noticed she never even asked. When I finally flagged the water girl down, she couldn’t understand wth I was trying to say. She said«i go get menu» and I was like«why do u need a menu to pick a spice level?» There’s an old Chinese saying – Chicken talking to the duck. Clearly we have that here. She motioned that she was gonna get the waitress but that didn’t happen for like another 10 minutes. Thank God this place has extremely slow ass service or my food would have came out by the time someone came out to check on us. We waited literally an hour for them to bring us out our dish. This restaurant was only about 20% full and the $ 13 Pad Thai was kid-sized. Horrible value and very bad service. My coworker and I would not recommend this place at all. It’s a waste of time and money to sit here and spend 90 minutes hearing your stomach digest itself waiting for your lunch.

I had high hopes for Bua. I have only had one dish and from take-out. It was a very mediocre Pad Thai; very few, if any peanuts or bean sprouts, bleh flavor. I’ll give them another try and I hope that they just had a bad day.

Tried this place last night and it was great! I had the pad see eew and my husband had the red curry with chicken I’ve been craving thai since we moved here in August. It isn’t exactly what I was expecting but it does the job. They have a sushi menu with the normal rolls and then a few noodle dishes, fried rice and curry. The only thing I wish they had were noodle bowls such as phở. The pad see eew was delicious. It had the perfect amount of sauce and veggies to go along with the noodles and chicken. My husband liked the curry and his only complaint was that it was a little sweet for him. But he said he would try the green or yellow curry next time. Bua is close to my job so I’m sure I’ll be enjoying it again in the future

Recently opened but a little out of sight. Really enjoyed the mussaman curry definitely on par with some of the better curries I’ve had at other places. The spring rolls were excellent, nice and crisp very fresh, and not greasy in the least. As for the sushi, we are generally skeptical of fusion places, however what we had was some of the best in the capital region. Will definitely be back!

We noticed this restaurant driving home through Malta(its in Ellsworth Commons). The take out weve gotten has been amazing! My husband ordered a thai dish, I ordered a hand roll and ssashimi and my daughter had the chicken satay. The fish was fresh and delicious and my toddler annihilated the satay(seriously she didnt leave a piece so it must have been good

First time here. Opened about 1 week ago. Four of us. Three had the dinner box and I had the squid noodle combo. We all enjoyed.
