This seems to be your typical upscale burger joint. Nothing bad, but nothing that stands out against their competitors. Not even close to what you can expect at Shake Shack. Their SmashFries, coated in olive oil and rosemary, are nice, but their aroma overwhelms everything else, and smells too fancy for fast food. They feel like they belong as the side of a steak frites order. Not upset that I went, but I doubt I’ll go back.

I liked it. I could see how the wait could be problem as other reviewers have noted. I must’ve hit between soccer mom contingents on Saturday afternoon because I strolled up and ordered but by the time I left there was quite a line. The mushroom burger I got was delish and the premium fries were as well. I’d go again, just not if there was a line. I’m old enough to remember when there wasn’t anything on ft 29 but a big hole in the ground full of rocks. Now it’s a bunch of rude people. But that’s not Smashburgers fault, at least not directly. I mean, they are part of the problem, but not the root cause. I can be an asshole too, I suppose.

Ok, so I wanted to try this for a while and was all excited to go. I had a coupon, so I could not order online, as some have suggested. However, it seemed that this doesn’t even matter. A lady who DID order online and myself BOTH waited almost a half hour for our food. No real good place to wait either so you are standing nearly on top of people trying to eat their dinner. Burger was fine. No Five Guys for sure, but fine. The Smashfries were good, but so small and in crunchy little tiny pieces, tough to even get them to your mouth without dropping a bunch down your shirt or on your lap. After waiting nearly a half hour, i see my food come up, and the person at the counter fold the bag and start to come to me. Instead of handing it to me, he starts talking to the woman (who had JUST come in) next to me! So I’m standing there, literally watching my food get cold for another 5 minutes, And, only one person on register. VERY slow line and service. In any case, coupon or no, I won’t go back. Five Guys are my guys.

I’m more used to the Radnor location, because it’s closer to me, but I went to this one for lunch today so I could go to the Wegman’s right nearby afterwards. I usually get the burgers, but I got the Cobb salad with crispy chicken here, and ate outside because the weather was great. The servers brought my food out to me and even checked on me while I was eating, and a waitress was about to ask how I was liking it, but was surprised to find out I had finished my salad. It was definitely a successful experience, and a different one. After being there last week at the Radnor location where they had messed up my order a bit and forgot to get me a milkshake (but at least they fixed their mistake when they saw my receipt), it was nice that this one went better and I was even able to sit outside on such a nice day.
This was my second time at this Smashburger, the first being because I was getting my haircut at the neighbor location. However, I don’t know if I’ll come back to this one much, but only because I live closer to another one. Although I actually liked the interior of this one just as much and being able to sit outside was a nice plus, so maybe I’ll come back.

Server was extremely rude and clearly did not want to be working there. We had to ask for my son’s milkshake twice before it was delivered to us by a scowling server who slammed the milkshake onto the table and turned away. No apology for the 25 minute wait for the milkshake long after my son had eaten his burger and after our asking twice for the drink. In addition, the burger wasn’t that great and inferior to Five Guys. Don’t bother.

Went here on a whim for lunch. My fiancé and I both got the BBQ cheddar burgers and they were delicious. We also got the smash fries. The cashier even used a coupon she had to give us a discount. We’ll be back!

The crispy chicken here is delicious and this is where my coworkers and I agreed to order from. Which are the only two reasons why I haven’t left at this point to go to mcdonalds
The website has been down for over an hour yet they refuse to process orders over the phone. When you arrive in store to place an order they only have one register open so it’s 15mins just to place your order. Then to find out that the grill is working improperly and it may take even longer for your order to be completed.
Not sure if the no ordering over the phone is a corporate decision or not but it’s annoying as a customer. If this happens again I will just go to McDonald’s.

I have been to 3 different Smashburger and ordered the same thing: Baja Salad.
I like the dressing. IS it MSG or what. Just so good. I wish they sell the dressing.

Food is pretty terrible. Small shoe string fries with a gross salty Philly burger. My kids didn’t even like the cheeseburgers and they are fans of a good burger. Scale back the salt for the sake of your future and the future of all the «at risk» folks eating at your joint. I won’t be back.

I don’t see what all the fussis about. The prices are very reasonable, the beef and fries are ok. Cheeseburger cheeseburger soo much better.

If you don’t like to wait in line — order online!
I learned that the hard way, waiting in line for nearly twenty minutes while only one register was taking orders. The food was quick, so I was still easily able to get in & out within in hour, but man, that line.
Smash burger opened recently and is accessible through the road that goes from Morehall to Wegmans (with the traffic circle).

In the world of Five Guys, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Shake Shack, etc., Smashburger most definitely holds its own.
The only way I know how to judge this place is to directly compare it to those experiences since they’re all nearby.
In burger quality, I’ll put it even with Cheeburger. I’ll put it above Shake Shack. I’ll put it below Five Guys.
In the ability to customize your burger, better than Shake Shack and Five Guys. Not quite at the level of Cheeburger.
Overall menu choice, Smashburger is a little better than Shake Shack, a lot better than Five Guys, and not as good as Cheeburger.
In quality of service, they’re even with Five Guys and Shake Shack as you order at a counter and then wait. But they’re nice enough to bring you your food as those places won’t. Cheeburger is a better quality service experience with the waitress service. Smashburger is more cramped than the other places which is a detriment.
But the overall quality of food is good enough to be worthy of 4 stars. Overall Cheeburger has a little more to offer for the money and Five Guys is a better quality burger. But I’d come here over Shake Shack any day.

I’ve had better burgers, but this place is fairly fast. Unfortunately there is no combination meal, so it was rather higher than my normal lunch prices. You do get unlimited drink refills, though. Once you order, they give you a stand that has a number. Then a server bring the food over. Because this is my first time there, I went with the standard signature burger with smash fries.
The burger was very greasy. No wonder they put their burgers on thick buns. The smash fries was sitting in a pool of olive oil. I knew going in that when deep fries are slathered in olive oil, there is a chance of more than normal oil left over. This was a salty mess.
I’d go back and order something other than a burger, though.

You cannot call in an order. You can order online or go into store. Seems ridiculous.

So so so tasty! The options were great, the food was great, and the service was great. Not great? The wait and the line. It was insane. Hopefully it’ll calm down soon, but I can’t wait to go back. (the avocado club burger is my soul mate.)

I love this place! This is my favorite of the «reimagined» burger joints; their smash fries are delicious and I don’t get a sick tired feeling after it you might expect after eating a burger and fries.
The bbq chicken sandwich with fried onions is a must.
The malvern location is very fast and clean inside

The food and ambiance are really great. I love the avocado burger and the smash fries. The shakes are great, too. The place has been totally picked both times I was here, and both times there was only person on register making the line take forever to get through. I really want the place to do well, but they need to be using both registers in order to be successful. C’mon, Smashburger, you can do it!

We’ve given them two chances and we won’t be back. First time, my husband stopped on his way home from work and we did not place the order ahead of time. The wait was so-​so, food was so-​so, and overall we weren’t blown away. Second time, we placed our order via their website. There was no wait, the food was very disappointing (fried pickles were incredibly salty and ruined the taste of our other food), and we decided we wouldn’t be eating there again. There are too many choices around the Malvern area to waste our $ at Smashburger.

(3.5) ~ good overall food & service, but being that it was Opening Wknd, it wasn’t up to «Smashburger» standards. My advice for the first (2) weeks of any opening: 1.) Bring over experienced Managers /​Workers from the Radnor store; 2.) Hire extra workers to help out during Busy Time Periods (i.e. Lunch; Dinner; etc.) 3.) Make sure there’s a Manager walking around during these Busy Times, as they were getting crushed keeping up with orders, clearing tables, not taking the number cards, etc. and the result was many «order mistakes». Note: I don’t blame the new workers, but rather the owners/​managers. Hopefully they’ll get better as «Smashburger» is a GREAT Burger Chain.

The employees here are so nice and friendly. The burgers are awesome, way better than any other similar establishments in the area. Their shoestring are great too! The dining area is very clean and your food is delivered to your seat. I will definitely come back here.
