Bar Harbor Grill

Had dinner with the family on the back deck the other night. A couple of family members were upset about all the American flags that were hanging and were all torn, dirty and damaged. It’s a sad situation when employees and management are oblivious to something like this. As far as the rest of the meal was concerned… the service is hit or miss here. We’ve been here a few times and you can get a great server or you can get a lousy server that is totally clueless. On a good note… the food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable.

Absolutely horrible service. On Father’s Day they had one waiter. When we walked in they had no one seated in the restaurant and asked if we had reservations. We said no and they say us any way. If they knew they had a large group of people coming in and they wouldn’t be able to handle other people, they should have not seated us and we would have went somewhere else. We waited for our food for over an hour! We ordered the «big barge» which says it comes with a muffin platter. Muffins never came out. We asked for them to go when we got the check and they said the bread guy didn’t bring muffins. I asked them if they will be taking anything off the bill. He said sure and took off $ 3. Eggs were basically raw. I am surprised they are still open with the horrible service. The owner/​manager did not come over to apologize or say anything as we were leaving after making eye contact. He deserves to be shut down.

Just had a great lunch. $ 9.95 lunch specials include a soft drink and soup or salad. Great meal, great service and great weather out on the balcony.

Went there for lunch and the food was great. Arnie was fabulous, very friendly and the kids loved him.

Delicious lunch-​everything was tasty and fresh! We were greeted with a smile and the service was terrific (we later found out our host and waiter was Arnie)! We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful day :-). Arnie was a true pleasure, he was funny, cheerful, and very accommodating — Bar Harbor is lucky to have someone like him! We will be back!!!

Went on Easter Sunday for brunch all I can say is goodbye to our usual spot – IHOP. Why have I not eaten here before for bunch? Yes I have eaten dinner here which was very good but brunch was really good. There were five of us and the service (unlimited mimosas & bloody Mary’s) were quickly brought to our table Kudos to the bartender, Keith I believe, the drinks were perfect. The food cooked to perfection for this very very picky eater. It is a lovely spot to have brunch for families of all ages and the scenery is pretty decent too!

First time trying this place. LOVED IT! The staff is so friendly and down to earth. The venue is Extremely clean, and has a great variety of items on the menu. The music is classic 80’s Rock. The restaurant offers different specials daily and has a Sunday brunch for $ 19.99 person with unlimited mimosas, bloody Mary’s etc.
Had an order of blue point oysters which were very fresh and the chicken wings are some of the best I’ve tasted. The apple tart dessert was delicious, baked on site, and the Heath bar crunch coffee was great. The portions are generously sized.
The bartender Murphy is a sweetheart! The owner is seen mingling with the patrons which is also great and he looks just like Brian Dennehy lol. Will be returning regularly. This place is a must to try. You will not be disappointed.

For anyone who lives in or around Mamaroneck, this place has had so many names, you could easily not know what it is now. We stopped in for a cocktail for a post wake get together.
Although late, the bartender was friendly and helpful. The ambiance looked casual but upscale as befitting a bar right outside the harbor.
Didn’t look at a menu or try any food, but it looks like a nice place to grab an after work cocktail and maybe a bite or two.

This place has a great atmosphere with fire pits in the front deck and waterfront in the back. On Friday and Saturday night they often have local bands play music. The crowd is older, I would say boomer age group. My favorite part about this place is the Mac and Cheese. You have to try it. Five stars for the local bar.

Taking over what had long been the Charlie Brown’s steak house Bar Harbor is one of the few places in Mamaroneck to actually have a maritime theme. They have expanded the bar at the expense of the dining space but that seems to be what they are aiming for.
The dining room at the back has fairly bar walls which means sound bounces around badly and the three main booths are placed with an almost idiotic location next to load baring pillars that makes it very difficult for people to get into them. I got in by literally stepping on the bench.
There’s a good selection of drinks and the appetizers were very promising. The blackened shrimp were great, served with a cool guacamole like salad to offset the heat it promised much for the main course.
My wife had fish tacos. I had the fish and chips. My wife said the taco was ok but nothing great. My fish looked great. golden brown, tender and flaky it had NO taste at all. It was like a commercial piece, wonderful to look at and no taste. I twice had to ask the waiter for some vinegar to make them palatable.
We both disliked the fries/​chips/​whatever. there were medallion s of potato with a crinkle cut top and bottom with an uneven cooking, some flaky, some hard. We agreed they were unsure if they wanted to be a potato chip or a French fry or maybe a tatter tot. tried for all and got… none.
All the while the noise from the bar added to the poor acoustics. In the end I would say this is a place to meet up with friends for a drink, maybe share some appetizers but then go on somewhere else for dinner.

Our group came in for a midafternoon bite and a glass of wine, visiting from the city. The busboy couldn’t have been nicer, and our waiter Arnie made our day– friendly, funny and hospitable, he’s a character and understands true customer service; making your guests feel welcome and relaxed to have a great time.
All our dishes were tasty, but the cheesy harbor fries were the highlight– we could’ve eaten 3 more servings!
A great spot to eat outside on a hot summer day–

We had a very wonderful lunch at Bar Harbor. We sat outside under the patio and the ambiance was great. Our server was attentive and everything was served at a nice pace. The food was fabulous. I had the soup (lobster bisque) and lobster roll, with the sweet potato tots, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Would definitely go there again.

After reading the reviews and forewarned about slow service, my party of five were pleasantly surprised. Arnie couldn’t have been any nicer or more attentive, and we had two toddlers with us! The soup of the day, lobster bisque, was delicious. Our kids meals were prompt and yummy. We adults had the lobster rolls and found them tasty. The outdoor deck was a great place to sit, overlooking the marina.

Bad service, bad drinks (even mentioned my sangria tasted off… Like the wine had been sitting around for a few weeks) and did not offer to remake. Over priced, not great food. Nice outdoor deck is the only plus. Have been several times but this was the last… Food is always disappointing.

Food was good but the service was horrible. Sat outside waited about 2 hours for food. After ordering drinks had to go to the bar and get them myself. If you have all afternoon to waist and not that hungry when you get there then this is the place for you. Don’t recommend it at all.

I have come here enough times to try everything on the menu and everything I tried I found delicious. Coming here is always a challenge because I don’t know what to order because everything is good. There seems to be a lot of turn around on the wait staff, but I’ve always had a pleasant experience with the service here.

We went there for brunch today, I had the fish tacos which were okay
, esp with the aioli sauce. My friend had french toast, which he said was good. But there was a football game on, and it got pretty noisy what with all the guys at the bar commenting on the game. It’s a nice space and we will return in summer to sit outside.

Good food, good musuc, great happy hour specials, a fun relaxing place. Great outdoor front and back deck, for epitome and back de c k overlooks marina.

Good ambient, delicious food… try pork chops, is fantastic.

Finally, a place like this in the neighborhood has been a long-​time coming! I’ve hit this place up a few times already because my best friend and sister live nearby. Nice spot to unwind, grab some food and drinks with friends after a long work week. The wait staff is cool so you can easily spend a few hours here and have a good time. When I came here with my sister and her kids (5 y/​o and 3 y/​o) who are REALLY picky eaters, everyone easily found something they liked on the menu. A couple of my personal favs are the spinach and artichoke dip, sliders and crab cakes. They have awesome daily specials. I’ve been there on a Monday for ½ price appetizers. I have yet to go there for Lobster Night — Lobster Bisque, Lobster Quesadilla, Lobster Mac & Cheese, and Lobster Sliders. All of those things sounds amazing!
They also have a back room for private parties, which is actually where my best friend’s baby shower took place. They did a nice buffet brunch spread — everything from bloody marys, mimosas, eggs benedict, french toast, pasta and chicken.
