I was told that Sal’s has the best pizza(outside of NYC area). Yes, their pizza was delicious. I had a slice of regular cheese pizza, salad pizza, and sausage topping. Thin crust and great sauce. I was very pleased. I also heard that people here can be quite rude to their customers. No rude comments happened to me during my visit … fingers crossed! Let’s keep it that way. One rude comment to me and I shall never return no matter how great your pizza is. I still have Colony’s Pizza in Stamford for my back up plan! Atmosphere is very old school. I guess if you have awesome pizza, there’s no need to update interior! I didn’t mind really. Ordered your pizza from the front, bring it to the table, eat and leave. Don’t expect to see smiley faces from the service, then you’ll be good.

I do not understand why this place has so many stars! the pizzas are tasteless, but most important the service is terrible!!! I will not spend my money on a place who does not care about a good costumer service.

The pizza is hands down the best outside the city, HOWEVER and it’s a big HOWEVER! The people that work there are the most rude arrogant pizza f*cks, I have ever met! I grew up in mamaroneck and my family is going on 35 years in this area. They were rude to me as a child making it intimidating to order pizza. I will never forget being yelled at as an 8 year old trying to pick up my dads order when I could hardly see over the counter and had never picked up there before so yea I was really overwhelmed but to call a kid«stupid», when he was clearly scared to walk in to a packed place. I’ve grown up since but that sticks with me. As an adult I went in to ask if they had delivery, the guy said«what delivery we don’t need delivery no delivery never have never will», that was a lie. They had it then got rid of it then brought it back so the regulars like me never know what’s going on. I’ve worked at a pizza place and get how hard it can be but my God to treat people with such anger and disrespect when all we want to do is praise your pizza and enjoy a nice meal. I can’t eat here it makes me very uncomfortable because of the memories. My friends and family and the same horrid stories. They know they make the best pizza but they know nothing about community or taking care of customers that truly love sals. Enjoy the pizza good luck with the staff!

Giving two stars is even to much. When you have a graven for something and you remember the taste and then when your served and it’s different. That’s a huge disappointment. You can see that this place has changed. They have the attitude that they could care less if you come back. And guess what! after having there card board pizza we will never go back. And let’s not forget that the service. It’s terrible.

I’ve been a customer of Sal’s for 45 years and marvel at how the food tastes just as wonderful as it did the first time I enjoyed my first slice of Sal’s Pizza.

I swore I wrote a Sal’s review, but it got lost in the interwebs. Anyhoo, here I go again. Sal’s is a Mamaroneck tradition similar to waiting in line at Walter’s. Go get the cheese, a slice of salad, and if you havent had gastric bypass, a slice of sicilian. Of course if you have had gastric bypass, you can eat the slices on different days but that is another debate. Sal’s gelato place is next store so additional food fun is to be had. I personally go to look at the Yankees memorabilia on the wall, but all these people in line get mad at me blocking there way. Go figure?

This review is for the f*cking attitude I just got calling in an order. Since when can’t you order slices over the phone? I’ve been doing it for YEARS. So effing lazy and rude. I’m literally gobsmacked at the rudeness. You sling pizza dude, you aren’t a rocket scientist. Seriously, check yourself.

Love! I personally prefer a super dry/light crispy melt in your mouth thin crust-their crust is heavier and not really crisp. However it is consistent and I enjoy everything I’ve ever ordered from there! The pasta entrees are the best on the strip– they cook the noodles al dente and their marinara is extra garlicky. Yes they are not overly friendly over the phone and in person but who cares. One time I had to keep calling back because when he didnt understand my order he would just hang up… But in the end it tasted amazing like usual. They make good food and they know it. My favorite pizza– pepperoni, mushroom, hot peppers. And they PACK on each topping!

The people who work there are wack and mean. They heckled me and made me feel more insecure than I already am. Pizza is great but I’d rather do business elsewhere. Wouldn’t be surprised if the employees hate their lives. Stop taking it out on teenagers. Dicks.

Stepping into Sal’s is kinda like stepping back into time. A time in The Bronx where 25 cents would buy you a wonderful slice and a few priceless memories. It’s back to basics at Sal’s. The long counter end where pizza boxes are neatly pilled high to the ceiling. Where people patently wait for their order which is then given on a circular metal pizza plate with thin individual wax paper per slice. The Pizza is terrific… The regular slice was delicious — the crust perfect — the sweet sauce blended perfectly with the cheese. The Sicilian was better. I asked for a corner piece and received. Again perfect. Perfect distribution of cheese over tomato sauce over crust. How often the Sicilian bread overcompensates the cheese and sauce at other pizzerias? Almost always — but not here. Seating is also basic and clean. Wooden tables with cheese /hot pepper and napkins — nothing more needed. Noticed a few reviews complaining about service. No negatives during my visit as the men behind the counter were pleasant enough — and I received my corner slice… $ 7 — 1 Sicilian, 1 Slice, 1 Diet Cream Soda… and a priceless memory resurfaces… Not Bad…

I’m a life long New Yorker. The regular pizza was mediocre and the chicken parmesan wedge was sub par(good chicken with very little sauce and mozzarella, the bread was soft and not seeded). I have had their Sicilian pizza which is very good but not the best in NY. if you looking for pizza in lower Westchester this would be the place but don’t go out of your way. there are much better places in Brooklyn and Queens.

Traditional pizza, warm atmosphere, fair price. Open late. Rye New York tradition after partying

This place is legendary status for the locals, I never knew not being from here, but it must be spot on! Pizza is great, and the pasta meals are amazing. Get the Veal Parmesan with spaghetti, and they give you so much you’ll probably have to save some for later! I recommend.

Sal’s is probably the most famous pizzeria in town… and for good reason. Their slices are consistently delicious with their salad slice probably being among their most well known offerings. They’re not fancy by any stretch of the imagination but that’s fine by me. Just give me the goods at a fair price and I’m good to go. Sal’s does that and that’s why everyone comes here time and time again.

Sal’s constantly has lines out the door any day of the week– and I’m not sure why. The pizza is good, no doubt, but with the abundance of pizza joints in the area, I would rather not give Sal’s my business. The staff is extremely rude to the point where it’s nearly insufferable– condescending and harsh. Their mozzarella sticks and pizza is good, but it is definitely no different than Joe’s or Emilio’s down the street. I would advise not to give money to these workers who act like my very presence is a burden.

Pizza is consistent and fresh. No frills service is classic Sal’s, and that’s a good thing. You really can’t go wrong with Sal’s. You know exactly what are you’re getting when you walk in: a quality slice. Not my favorite in the area, but I’ll give it #2.

Best pizza in Westchester!!! The problem is that the service it isn’t friendly and never has been. The Sicilian at Sal’s is really the best ever. I love getting the corner cause the crust is always perfectly crispy. I am also a big fan of the salad pizza and surprised that other pizzerias don’t offer something similar. I have eaten here for over 30 years(yikes). Not once was there any personal acknowledgement or a thank you beyond the slice or pie that I was buying at the time. Kind of sad … and yet I return. CONCLUSION: who needs good customer service when your pizza is awesome.

I’m not sure how this place got four stars. The pizza is really not that great. I’ve tried a lot of pizza as it’s one of my favorite foods and this doesn’t even come close to a Brooklyn, or even Queens slice. I guess it’s good by Westchester standards. I would rate it mediocre at best, but it’s edible. The atmosphere is not really the best either. There’s really nothing about this place that makes me want to come back. The crust tastes dry and flavorless and the cheese is cheap because it’s so greasy. Not much sauce to be tasted at all. The size of the slice is pretty standard. I’ve never tried any of the entrée’s because I always taste a slice first and make my decision to try other menu items based on that. There’s no shortage of pizza joints in the area so I would prefer to go elsewhere.
