Cool wines, tasty cheese, cool vibe. A great way to slow down beyond the slopes. Mammoth Brewing us a related business. Check that out too.

We stopped by this past weekend when in Mammoth for a ski weekend. Our friend was celebrating her birthday Friday night and this was the second time we came to Bleu for a party. First, they have the most creative charcuterie presentation with various salumi hung as if dried on a «clothesline». Various types of olives, pickles, pâté and mustards complete this fun attractive appetizer. Cheese plates with prosciutto and various breads were presented well and delicious. Artisan breads are baked daily and fancy pasta and gourmet foods line the shelves as you enter. Bleu also offers a pretty nice variety of decently priced wines as well as higher end selections. Overall, a great place that’s quite versatile as customers frequent Bleu as a gourmet market as well as a gathering place perfect for friends to enjoy nice wines and elegant bites.

I’m literally OBSESSED with this place. I really mean it. I don’t even want to write all the things I love because I hate when they run out. But I’ll go ahead anyway and say that the smoked duck breast might make you cry it’s so delicious. Really insanely good. Everything here is fabulous — you’ll be thanking them for taking your money and become an addict.

My husband and I used Bleu catering for our wedding at Hayden Cabin last year. They were by far our most favorite vendor to work with. We were super impressed with their quality of food and and the talent of Brandon and Theresa. Living in San Francisco makes us automatic foodies and I can tell you it was one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had — omg the short ribs and homemade gnocchi were incredible. Would highly recommend!

It is absolutely wonderful working with Brandon, Theresa, and their team at Bleu. Whether you need a caterer for a wedding, a BBQ, or a casual(but delicious and professionally prepared) get-together, they are the best team to work with. Responsive, professional, gracious, and talented. We just coordinated an amazing wedding this past weekend. The catering is something we never have to worry about when Bleu is on site.

So glad we found Bleu’s! This delightful little shop has a wide selection of cheeses(~20−30?), cured meats, olives, fresh loaves of bread, and all the accompaniments you desire… jams, mustards, quince paste, etc. They also have a large selection of microbrews and wines.

As good as it gets, and certainly with better cheese than there has ever been at Mammoth. This great little wine, cheese and beer shop offers a well-chosen, reasonably price list of wines by the glass or bottle, all chosen by their staff sommelier. She was great to talk to, not snobby in the least, and I love her taste: – her list navigates between new world and old world easily. We had some terrific charcuterie to go with our cheese, and there is a good set of beers by the bottle. Hanging out at the cute little counter felt like a bit of Europe, mixed with a bit of SF or Brooklyn, and a bit of your foodie friend’s kitchen. Cozy, cool, authentic. And absolutely dangerous for hungry people at high altitude, because I can see walking out of there with a huge bag of killer snacks(I escaped with just one bottle – this time).

Wow! This is a gem of a find. Stopped in to figure out this attractive wine/cheese/charcuterie place out and am blown away. My charcuterie platter(only $ 8) rivals the best I have tasted in Los Angeles that make you pay twice as much. Actually, many high end restaurants can learn a little something from Bleu in selecting their charcuterie! There is something very sweet in this Artisinal store that deserves to have more people know about it. I look forward on picking up some of their breads, cheeses and house sausages made with game meat on my way back to LA.

I am so grateful that Bleu exists. A great thoughtful selection of cheeses, charcuterie, olives, wines, craft beers, breads, pastas, fish and meats to keep the foodie in me so very very happy! Thank you, Bleu!

Very nice local charcuterie. We by-passed the giant tourist trap nearby and headed straight for Bleu. By the reviews we were expecting something totally different. The store was empty when we arrived, and empty when we left. The variety was ok, but definitely not up to five star standards. It could have been an off season, or perhaps just the afternoon. But I felt there just wasn’t much to choose from. We ended up asking the guy behind the counter to make up a meat and cheese platter. I gave him a price point and he did the rest. Which I really appreciated. When it comes to things I know very little about, I like to rely on the experts. He did a beautiful job creating a platter. The foods were excellent, I will give them that. I still highly recommend Bleu. Especially if you’re in the market for an impressive platter.

Such an amazing spot! I’ve lived in Mammoth for quite some time and decided to have lunch there with a girlfriend today. They have an amazing wine /beer selection that’s very reasonably priced. Brandon, the owner, was extremely helpful with recommending a great wine /beer and then meats /cheeses for our lunch. Their menu caters well to vegetarians as well. The atmosphere is lovely and they’re in such a convenient spot. They have a wonderful program of buying a loaf of amazing fresh baked bread and giving you a second one for you to gift to somebody. It’s my new favorite lunch spot! The cheeses, meats, sausages, breads, olives, etc; are wonderful to take home and they have some great specialty ginger beers and sodas. I highly recommend them!

Quality products and personal service. Pricey and worth it. We bought bread, cheese, olives and imported German beer. Everything was phenomenal.

We went here for lunch and ended up sharing the two meat two cheese plate. It was wonderful. I didn’t know what meats and cheese I would get-just told them to surprise me. It also came with herb coated almonds, olives, small pickles, a fancy jam, walnuts and two kinds of fresh baked bread. The waitress was very helpful in assisting me with choosing a glass of wine. Everyone here was very friendly. We were in town on vacation and will definitely eat here next time we are in town.

I went to Bleu after reading all of these great reviews. I have to admit I was shocked at how big the store was and how little they actually had for sale. The 2 employees were not overly friendly which I found a little rude considering I was the only one in the store. I was hoping for some suggestions and I ended up doing all of the talking. I am giving 4 stars because the food I bought was very good. The prices were reasonable being that this is supposed to be a high end store. They only have goat, blue, brie, sheep and 1 kind of Swiss. There are so many amazing kinds of cheeses available and they didn’t have a huge selection. They have a few steaks, ground bison, duck confit and fresh pasta. They had roasted tomatoes, and 3 kinds of olives and some mini pickles. They also had homemade pesto. They also had crackers, BBQ sauce and other locally made items. They had some deli meats but not a lot. There is a beer and wine selection. Wine selection looked okay, beer selection was pretty small. You are better off going to the brewery for beer. If you are looking to make a nice snack place I would recommend this place. If you are looking for a lot of food to purchase, this is not for you.

I went into Bleu Handcrafted Foods hoping to find something healthy and quick to prepare for dinner. I came home with two grass-fed flat iron steaks with an herbed blue cheese butter to top them off with. I was given specific grilling instructions on how to prepare them. This came in handy since I have no idea how to grill anything! I cannot believe how delicious the steaks were. The absolute most tender, flavorful steaks I have ever had! I also purchased a few cheeses to go along with our meal, and a bottle of wine that was recommended by the staff to go with dinner. I got to taste the cheese and wine at their new wine tasting bar while I was there, and knew that I was going to be in for a treat. I was so pleased with the meal, that I booked a Rotary event at Bleu. They put together a menu, and were able to work within our budget. It’s going to be a great party, and I can’t wait.

After an agonizing morning learning how to snowboard, hubby and I ventured into town to find a snack. We came upon Bleu(thanks to Unilocal!) and decided to check it out. It’s a cute little shop with a variety of wines and off-the-beaten-path beers and other beverages. They also had a pretty decent selection of cheeses and some salumi/charcuterie items. It’s just one of those places that make me want to buy up everything! I lost my receipt but basically, the gentleman who helped us out recommended two cheeses which turned out to be phenomenal(lesson: don’t be afraid to ask for suggestions). We also picked out two meats. My 1 gripe was that he sliced one of the meats really thick — it was a dry-ish sopressata with a rind that we had to peel. Definitely something that would have benefited from a thin slice since we really had a hard time chewing the thicker slices(1/5″ thick). We also picked out a few beverages. I’m a sucker for packaging so I chose a sorghum beer which strangely enough tasted like the Green Flash IPA. Hubby picked out a few sodas with atypical flavor combos. Bleu also sold some other gourmet food items, some of which I’m told is made on site. I was able to go back to our rental condo and put together a nice little snack plate for everyone to share — definitely a must visit if you want to treat yourself to a nice nibble!
