Hertz Rent A Car

BEWARE. This location does not honor rate from online reservation made on Hertz website. It is locally owned. Told me that the rate quoted, $ 363.00 was «not a contract, that Hertz is unaware of local charges.» Had me over a barrel. Not a lot of choices at 6 PM in this small town. They charged me $ 395.00.
Nice car but…
Hertz later confirmed that it does not control rates at this location.

Crappy service. Can’t answer phone or when does, places the phone off hook so you can hear everything going on (which was nothing). Had a paid reservation but wouldn’t give the courtesy of a callback to cancel. Terrible. Good luck.

This place was so bad! First of all this is a rental car business people tend to need a rental last minute. I had called ahead of time and reserved a car on a saturday morning. I made it clear i was waiting to get a ride from Bishop to pick it up. Not once did the woman mention she takes a two hour lunch. When i arrived at the store there was a sign saying it was closed for lunch. nothing saying the time she would return. The other store associates acted like i wasnt even there. I filnaly asked them what time they would open again, this woman went and asked the owner or what ever he was to help us. He said she wouldnt be back until 2:30 and it was now 12:34. He continued to say he was locked out of the system and she couldnt come back to help me because of labor laws. I argued with him that the labor law doesnt say she should get a 2 hour lunch. He was very rude and was refusing to help me. After arguing with him for almost 15 minutes he asked me to wait and left us in the front. He returned a few minutes later and now he has a second employee that can be there in two mintues to process the rental. Then he asks me if i was going to return the rental at the same location because otherwise there would be a $ 1500 charge! I told him I had every intention on returning it to their location. Even after he kept asking me if i was sure because they will charge me that fee. I am not a dumb little kid! I can read the big sign on the front desk! He was a complete asshole! finally the «other» employee shows up after washing a rental and gives me the car i asked for, which by the way was dirty! The windows where so dirty i could hardly see through them with the sun! Have they never heard of windex? I dont understand why they think it is a good idea to close a car rental business for two hours! They should have a better system then that. I also understand there is a drought and they are trying to conserve the water, but it wouldnt kill them to get some windex and clean the damn windows! I will be calling corprate to complain as well! Good luck with this sucky location!!!
