Last year’s 2014 Mammoth Rocks– Taste of the Sierra was a blast! The bands were top-notch(my favorite was Fireball) and the Journey tribute band was so fun! All of the tribute bands were. Mammoth Rocks went back to tribute bands this year and moving forward. My favorite foods were from Bleu and Ohana, but then all the food was outstanding. Looking forward to this year and many more!

I was excited to check out the Taste of the Sierra, but ultimately, it ended up pretty disappointing. We arrived around 6PM and I would say most of the vendors had already sold out of food and many had already closed up and gone home. It was kind of ridiculous because the event was supposed to go on until 10PM! My mom and I bought $ 10 in tokens each, but we ended up struggling to find booths to use them up at. CJ’s — Probably the best deal of the night, 2 wings for 1 token($ 1). Pretty good and their pulled pork sliders weren’t bad either. Thai’d Up — Coconut smoothie tasted pretty good at first, but for some reason it became blander the more I drank it. The little coconut bits also got stuck in my throat and caused coughing fits. Mimi’s Cookie Bar — Had already sold out of a bunch of cupcake flavors, but I settled on Brown Butter Vanilla. Was okay, but seemed a little small and pricey for $ 3 The yakitori at Sushi Rei smelled amazing, but there must have been 20 people in line! I liked that dogs were welcome, but the massive crowd and loud music spooked them a bit. There were a bunch of bands scheduled to perform and there were some cute little kids grooving to the music. If you’re ever here during Mammoth Rocks, it might be worth checking out since it’s free and there’s free parking, but I wasn’t too impressed by the food.
